If this needs sorting I’m on it
-
There’s dirt and dirty🤣

"Needed to be done" Phil, and well over a decade ago... I was on the Aces website earlier and did I read it correctly that all kids 0 - 17 get charged £11 to sit in the Grandstand?.. And free for U12's but £9 for 12 - 17 year olds to stand on the back straight? If so, absolutely crackers, and no wonder crowds are not great... The very demographic that brings adults in with them are the absolute key market that needs to be targeted, and, instead a parent has to pay £11 for their kid to sit next to them!!! All kids still at primary school age, attending with an adult should be free, with parents encouraged to bring as many friends of their kids as they can bring.. Kids say 12 to 17, in for a fiver.. Hundreds of seats are empty each meeting in F and G so just fill them with kids in for nothing, and even do reduced prices for adults to bring them.. The empty seats take zero money, and don't pay to drink or eat.... Back to Sheffield, didnt they do a press release pre season saying how well all was going when they were trying to find a buyer?.. Anyhow, I am sure all those who have led the sport to its current situation, will be the perfect ones to sort it...!!

Failure as usual

... and that's without having to pay Jack Holder! He's played that card before at Leicester... obviously it's our (the fans) fault. They've only run 6 meetings so far this year, in one of the best summers for years, so fans can spread the word all they want but there's literally nothing to go and see for the majority of the time... maybe the crowds have dropped off due to the new logo 🤔 Business as usual?

I haven't been for years Phil but hasn't this been an ever small growing trend year on year since the mid 80's or has it really accelerated in 2026 ?
-
Also doesn't help that you have no Tai this year or Jack Holder moving forward, plus as you say stop start fixture list and very small league doesn't help either. Respect to the promoters as they certainly aren't in the business for the money just need to hope the families other business/s are going gang busters to cover the speedway losses for this season.
-
Every club in premiership seems to be failing to promote. And the crowd numbers everywhere are down massively. Something needs to be done
-
That's funny! You're so triggered by me you've put me on ignore 😂 Thanks for the mention though 👍🏻 I'm quite enjoying living rent free in your mind 😂

Whàt an amazing concept.... I wonder if they could get someone from NASA involved to work out such a system..?? No idea why it just doesn't happen now... Clubs who race on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, sign riders who they know will, at some stàge of the season, miss their fixtures due to clashes elsewhere, injuries and sickness, and will then just use Guests, or RR And trying to plan in when eveyone is there in a sport so injury impacted is pretty much impossible anyway... Therefore, just plan in the meetings, say every fortnight, and put out two teams of riders using either RR or Guests if not all 14 who should be there can make it.. As, basically, that's whàt ends up happening now after weeks of no meetings anyway...

Good luck

Chris Harris want 4home/4away to make it pay.😂👍

It could still be difficult for Fri/Sat tracks if they sign riders with overseas commitments - League, SGP or whatever. Especially with new rider restrictions due to come in in Poland and already some riders calling for 2 home/2 away in the domestic leagues.

Don't the stocks run on the tarmac track, so why would the speedway track have clay in it -
As a Promoter Damian Bates needs to actually promote the sport and not be asking fans to do it for him. Friends of fans will know what they go support etc but having such a stop start season with repetitive opposition it’s a hard one to sell, but that again comes down to incompetence of BSPL
-
Maybe, that's what happened to me as I have got older , still think you are a youngster and can fight the world !, but will see my son on Wednesday who regularly came with me and see how he remembers it 🤔 Think the shovel was a gesture/warning and no one actually got hit with it
-
The club have just made a statement where Damien Bates has called for the public to keep spreading the word about speedway after last Thursday's home fixture was 'run at a significant loss.' Not good.

The art of a good commentator is to know what to say and when to keep quiet based on whether they are on the tv or the radio. For television, you don't need to explain absolutely everything as people can see it for themselves. For radio, a continual description is needed. For a phrase, one that Olly Allen has used quite a few times this year when conditions has been wet (and others have used it as well) is "He's been filled in..." We know it's to do with the dirt, but it can have other meanings! 😉

I'm hearing that this situation is a big talking point with most of the promotions, apparently they are trying to figure out how to work 1 home 1 away like football, so 2 or 3 home fixtures a month for next season
-
The championship fixtures are crazy. Oxford have had 7 of their 8 away matches already, Poole have only raced 1 away match. Surely it wouldnt be difficult to get the spread more even. To be fair, the premiership fixtures are a lot more even.

I suspect that if Mr Coleman didn't come into the sport in the UK with his eyes open that they are well and truly open now to how far off a professional sport Speedway is in the UK. Despite some of the improvements introduced by Mr Morris in recent seasons, a lot of which have been rowed back on since his departure... Most clubs can't even start their meetings at the advertised start time for goodness sake! Having Mr Lawson in the team has probably given him a good example of how the sport is currently run for the riders and it is they who will decide where and when they ride with their multiple contracts around Europe. The pits full of freeloading hangers on, kids... and mechanics all competing for the @rse crack of the year trophy. Tracks being served up that are far from conducive for good Speedway racing. To be honest I'd be surprised if he stuck it out for 5 years

You get all kinds but most people at the Speedway are really good in my experience.
