Will Poole be rushing to do the last reveal before Christmas?
-
I’ll buy you one for when you get to care home stage

I believe both of those offers were conditional on Chris staying on and running the club on behalf of someone else. Which after last time he didn’t want to do.

I honestly couldn't give a sh#t who signs for us. I simply cannot take anything seriously anymore with the premiership.

There won't be a lot of speedway in July.

As Cookie say above ,a friend of mine owns two business's one is an absolute cash cow, the other is a pub which turns over a mil a year but still is loss making. As my friend is an old softie he doesn't want to sell the pub as the girl who runs it for him lives there and he doesn't want to make her homeless. Part of the profits from the successful business is offset against the pub losses to reduce the overall profit figure, as you say if you only had one business you would be making more money but if you want the cudos of owning the local speedway club having a successful outside business is one way of partly subsiding the failing business. As another example Tolley has his badge business which I'm guessing must make a fortune so as a result he can write off six figures of losses a year at speedway without blinking.

Forget the league if its four teams lets head straight for the play off's

Ipswich Witches 2026

In short if you own company A that is making a profit & company B your loss making speedway team you can transfer losses from the speedway team to your profit making company reducing the profit that company makes & also the amount of tax that you pay. -
Scunny never has a big following on here, most got sick of the godfrey bashing

There are several stages to the AGM. For the first part, only the clubs who took part in the current season are involved. They go over the finances of the current season, iron out if anyone owes money to any other club, and declare if they want to run the following year. Presumably everyone except Birmingham has declared an intention to run. Then for the second part of the AGM (delayed to Jan 6th) they consider any new applications to join the league for next year, and anyone accepted is invited to join in the remaining meetings where they make plans for next year.
-
There were two offers, but it's not been announced if one of them has been accepted or both have been rejected. CL flies back from Oz on Jan 7, the day after the AGM starts, so it's fair to say he won't be attending that. It's unclear if an announcement will be made before the AGM or just after. Anything else is just guesswork, as even those close to him are being kept in the dark,,,

Why is it? I dont spent my life on here unlike you . I said my bit on what I think of you and your pal Shovlar. Pair of wronguns.
-
So there can't be a 6th team then as they've missed the declaration?
-
One thing I am not clear about here. There seems to be a feeling that CL has received two offers but neither are as much as he wanted. Ok, fine, so he doesn't undersell. What then? Instead of making some money out of a sale, he makes nothing at all. Is that where we are at the moment, or am I missing something?
-
Can you explain to me how having a loss making speedway club is good for tax purposes? Surely you would still make less net profit than if you didn't have the loss making speedway club?
-
I have found some positive stats for Bandits fans. Smith averaged 3.07 in his 2025 matches, but with the last couple against Workington not counting, must've had a poor end to 2024, which drops his rolling ave. Now that's still a disappointing season for a reserve with his experience no doubt, but does mean Berwick could be hopeful he can add half a point to his ave.

Think Kemp not coming back upset the plans. Was not expecting V.P but don’t think he is bad signing though.

League standard must be terrible if King's Lynn are favourites imo.

2026 Premiership is Go! - At least 5 teams

And this silly vendetta against all things NORA needs to STOP! -
If the rumours are correct that 2027 could see a cash injection of the back of work being done by speedway futures then that money needs using wisely. The best way would be to ensure as many tracks as possible are operating & that new riders are coming through. The sport needs to ensure the likes of Mildenhall & Eastbourne 2 venues with a history of speedway & tracks still in place need to be operational as league tracks. Then anything that can be done to get Coventry & Peterborough back. Two venues that are dormant same applies to Wolves. Then some good investment in bringing riders through. Speedway in this country is at the bottom it needs investment in infrastructure & assets to start rebuilding. Anything less & I give it 3-5 years before the final curtain falls.

I do wonder whether this can be spun to a party line making it look as if the top riders bailed on Britain and that's why they've gone, not the indecision causing them to sign more secure contracts elsewhere. They jumped, they weren't pushed. The cynic in me can see Ipswich (for example) coming to tapes with a much weakened team and the justification that they almost didn't run at all so the fans should just be happy to have speedway at all. And undoubtedly the majority of happy clappers would swallow it hook, line and sinker.
