  2. Perhaps make the rule clubs don't get a "facility" when a rider races abroad, clubs would have to choose between a rider who puts GB first, or risk having to use a 75% guest all the time?
  3. Have to agree, Klindt doesn't get a ban because Plymouth don't mind being weakened! Turns out their guest did well, but doesn't sit right with me.
  4. Sorry but your response has baffled me? Don't you think that speedway riders are "professional sportsmen" (in the higher leagues at least)? The territory is surely outlined in the rule books which I would assume states that at any point you may be required to take a drugs test? Your last question re encouraging drug taking doesn't even warrant a reply in my opinion.

  6. Harrison no good out of #2, Rew would struggle at 5,most inconsistant rider in top league in last 2 years that rides a hell of a lot meets, and worrall inconsistent as ALL the scorpions and any other team on scorpions turf, I would be looking at preparing the track to suit ya home riders instead of being different every week, when you ride once or less every week ,it’s hard to beat a rider riding 3 to 4 times a week on same or higher average, problem with uk league and scorpion team is not riding enough to get some form, everyone is riding to averages don’t see what all the complaining is about, more meetings better form . Scorpions are still in the mix and all you whinging tools should try a speedway bike out and back ya riders as confidence is everything in this sport, wake up and enjoy the meetings as No team wins every meet, that is speedway uk style
  7. A few of us decided to head down and we certainly didn’t see that happening with the choice we had off guests. Jeppensen looked a totally different rider to the one I watched last night , our reserves went a long way to securing the win after a super heat. Pleasantly surprised unexpected though as I honestly thought we had next to no chance without in reality three riders currently riding at heat leader level.
  8. Berwick reserves 5+1 Glasgow reserves 14+2 this is where meetings are won and lost. Track prep needs rectified not one drop of water on the track despite the dusty conditions. Quite impressesd with Ben Trigger who put in a good shift. Speaking to Glasgow fans before the meeting, they all thought we would win easy god knows what score would have been if Glasgow had been full strength. Next weekend are 2 must win fixtures if we are to have any aspirations about being in the playoffs.
  9. Trigger should be in for Jack Smith based on that performance tonight, Smith hasn’t been the same since he was made permanent in the side and certainly struggles if he doesn’t gate. Wood is absolutely fine imo, paid 5 tonight and has routinely got above his average at home, you carry him away but most teams seem to have a reserve like that. The problem when you have a weakened lineup is that everyone has to pick up the slack, tonight only PK really did that out of the regular Bandits, Kemp looked uncomfortable and out of sorts and had his poorest home performance in a long time despite scoring 11 from his 6 rides he didn’t beat anyone of note. JJ will take time to settle in and unfortunately didn’t take to the track like he did last night, hopefully he’ll be better for it next week.
  10. Just a general thought. The racing at Ashfield has went downhill since Meredith has been involved. As the saying goes, if it isn’t broke, don’t fix it. No need for him to be here. Racing has been great for years without him.
  11. This week maybe. Last week it looked like Worky. Be an interesting run in to the play offs!
  12. Ben Barker riding shortly after having his appendix out, charging onto the track with a replacement bike for Nicholls, directing track prep... meanwhile somewhere in Poland, Klindt is sat with his trotters up!
  13. Well worth the trip up... The racing wasn't "great" throughout but that was due to the Bears consistently getting out of the starts regardless of grid number... And the track being too dusty and slick for the first half of the meeting at least . Never seen a watering done after just heat two before, but it definitely needed it... It looks like a track that needs a good soaking given the camber is big...... The 2nd half of the meeting was much better and heat 13 was a cracker... But why no lap of honour? Where I was stood, on the home straight with the Redcar fans, (a good number there too), it literally killed the atmosphere generated by the great race.. Atmosphere, driven by tribal opposition, is what they sport desperately needs... Paco (one of the guests), wheeled around after his win in heat 14 so I presume some riders know what is needed... The food van ran out of chips, (a disaster it appeared for some), and I must admit, trying to protect my burger from dust was a challenge... The place itself is fantastically well laid out, with the viewing platforms all round the track providing a great view.... And there must be god knows how many artics worth of aggregate used to make the pathways!! The track is great, with my only slight criticism being the wide outside runs on bend two and four seem to make riders lock up a tad rather than letting the bike run like the NSS does. Are the exits narrower than the very wide entrances to the turns? Or was it just a lack of grip meant the outside line wasnt working as much as would be liked? The kids race attracted plenty, are kids in for free? There were plenty there... The centre green announcer is definitely one of the better ones I have seen... You can also hear what is being said around the stadium as the tannoy seems to work...!! And the signs from the town outskirts telling you that Speedway exists and, even more importantly, where it actually is, and when it runs, look professional... £20 a ticket? Value for money for me, I hope the crowd levels meet what is needed, it looked like around 700 to 800 tonight which I presume is better than break even? If you haven't been, definitely give it a go, great set up, and very good track..
  14. How come the winner of the "kids" race looked about 30!! 28 day ban 😂
  15. Fricke’s R/R contribution was restricted to heat 8, against the opposition’s No.2 & No.7. Whilst it meant a nailed on heat win, its most likely that any of the main body of the team would win that race. Although Max is on fire at the moment, him taking one less ride is unlikely to have an impact on the outcome of the tie.
  16. Having Jonus at 2 paid off though, countered Villads very well at Ashfield.Hagon was woeful.Wouldn’t matter where you put Hagon in Top 5 IMO,you don’t know what he will do from race to race even at Shielfield.Glasgow were there for the taking tonight and we failed miserably.IMO
  17. Don’t think he is like other poles, he is an all action rider wherever he rides, he would never be a world champion and wouldn’t be a even a real contender but has shown this year especially he doesn’t mind giving zmarzlik or any rider a hard time and doesn’t seem to mind bouncing of fences either
  18. Looks like he's been at 2 for the Bandits for a while and been scoring okay.
  19. Maybe the transponders are reading slow this season rather than reading fast 😄
  20. With Workington, Berwick & Oxford having a poor day, think the top 4 looks to be, Poole, Glasgow, Edinburgh & Redcar.
  21. Was Trigger in for Hagon? Interesting that Mr Dickson placed him at number 2 though rode Hagon at heat leader 3 at Glasgow, did Hagon no favours at all.
  22. And they are not exactly a powerful reserve pairing.
  23. Disappointing performance from the Berwick reserve pairing, you’re always going to struggle to win meetings when your bottom end get comprehensively out scored by the opponent
