  1. Past hour
  2. For what it’s worth here my thoughts on Championship.Scrap BsN Trophy 2home2away fixtures K0 Cup.Guests only for injury.Nothing for riders missing while riding abroad (FIM events excluded) No8 or NDL rider only.Top 4 Play Off.Time limit applied to rain offs or points awarded.(TinHat on).
  3. His reactions to situations are the best I have ever seen... That is why he goes into places that others would never dare to.... Early in his career I thought he was being, at times, reckless, and would eventually pay dearly for his high risk, high reward strategy... Now, I realise he was (is) just very special so was supremely confident he could handle these situations.. I would say only Trick is up there with such lightening reactions where they both could almost lock up to avoid incidents, but still keep momentum and speed... You can never accurately say who is the best ever, given so many variables down the years, but he is certainly a very special talent...
  4. Good god no. An injury to a rider and you have the same pair of riders out in every other heat. One league will also have a huge diversity in the standard of riders. And playoffs keep seasons alive for more teams.
  5. Only takes a crash/injury/exclusion etc. Weather, especially at Vojens in September could have a huge bearing... anyway it'd be nice to know in advance what happens in a tie instead of waiting for the results of an impromptu FIM Jury meeting behind closed doors and having Armando Castanga trying to explain things to everybody 😂
  6. People interested in all 3 leagues would look in all prem, champ and nl sections anyway?
  7. Yes, of course, there are lots of ways a tie could happen. The point I was making was the unlikelihood of them happening, i.e that at least one would fail to reach the final and the other finish fourth.
  8. This subject ranges far beyond the Championship. There is already a similar topic running in "Speedway News and Discussions" Maybe the above comments and contributions could be transferred, and people interested in all three leagues couild follow it?
  9. Going back to Prague when Kurtz crashed on the last lap of the LCQ after Madsen passed him, I think that cost him 4 points which might end up being costly. Still, what an incredible season for him and I hope he can do it. Nothing against Zmarzlik but it would be nice to see a different winner.
  10. I respect your opinion but he isnt competing against riders with the same ability as those above especially the earlier eras where dropping a couple of points meant title dreams were gone, no second chances to gain the title after a couple of bad rides. You cant compare Fundin, Briggs, Craven, Moore, for example for the level of competition they were against to the level of competition today, the field is far weaker in comparison. Yes he has a great talent but so many variables come into play, machinery, tracks etc.
  11. Today
  12. Unless you live in a cave the ideas are just in the sky, nothing that actually makes sense with different clubs running on nights others wouldn’t and stock cars taking presidence in other stadiums and not enough riders when you leave GP riders to make teams full where you would need an additional rider to make your ‘squad’ as people don’t want guests so if you get injured you would need to bring in another ‘squad’ member.
  13. It's a worrying thought that the current set up might be the least worst and needs to be maintained. IF we have a combined league, it's unlikely that it will stick to Mondays and Thursdays race nights so it's highly unlikely that Premiership riders who race in Poland will continue to ride in the UK. This would be the death knell of the sport as there wouldn't be enough riders and there would be a huge drip in standards. Some way has to be found to shire up the Premiership to six teams. Can Oxford be persuaded to stay, even if it means dropping their Championship side. Would Poole or Glasgow be prepared to move up if they get to retain their current race night - messy but the last card in the pack.
  14. Read the post,we can't carry on as we are or do you think things are going well for British speedway. Loads of ideas being floated around you must be aware of them or do you live in a cave. As I said something radical
  15. Doyle and Lindgen have been past their best, the new guard Holder, Bewley, etc havent as yet stepped up to the level of consitency required, Lambert looks way off too, there are wild cards that really shouldnt be at the level getting qualification due to their nationalitly not ability, far from the days of world finals when several riders in the field could be seen as realistic winners. Only for Brady there is nobody stepping up. Then you have the scoring system where you can afford to score say 8 points win the final and collect 20 yes its the same for everyone but my point about eras is riders couldnt afford to drop so many points and have a hope of being crowned champion, Loram for example became champion without actually winning a round. No one is doubting Zmarsliks talent on a bike but to say hes the best that has ever sat on a bike i dont agree with. The best of his era definately.
  16. What can be tried ? Nobody else has the answers but sounds like you do… let us know please!
  17. Was it the same former world champion that was pretending to masturbate with the trophy when he was walking it out onto the centre accompanied by 2 minors on global TV?
  18. Also remember Kurtz coped with all the pressure PLUS running over half his heats with a warning, one slip and he would have been done.
  19. Hasn't Lambert just very much reverted to type? Last year was his exceptional season finishing 2nd... the sport is littered with former world number 2's.
  20. What if they were both to finish much lower down in the points with Kurtz 3 points higher than Zmarzlik, Kurtz 13th and Zmarzlik 16th for example, or 12th and 15th, 11th and 14th etc. etc.
  21. Sprint points really are the biggest crock of doggy doo. Which genius came up with that idea I wonder...
  22. Hopefully some radical changes to the present set up which obviously is not working, what have we got to lose by trying something different. One league, smaller teams etc,we all know what can be tried.
  23. Don't think his list about who he does or doesn't like? It's about his experience at the Club? ( i could be wrong) To leave people off is a polite way of saying what all Brummie fans with half a brain know already! H Man has closed his chapter with dignity!
