  1. Past hour
  2. Sadly, I think a lot of what you're missing is nostalgia, not that there's anything wrong with that. Modern day speedway is clearly thriving domestically in Poland, and isn't exactly dead in Sweden, so why is GB struggling? I think you could bring back Wembley, uprights, 4TT and whatever else, but it's too late. It's been like death by a thousand paper cuts following British speedway in the last 25 years. I think where we do agree is that it's probably too far gone now. Sad.
  3. Would like to have seen Parnitskyi in the lineup as I definitely think he would have added something new and raw and also be unfazed by the opposition. The powers that be obviously rate him by naming him reserve . He’ll get his chance as there’ll definitely be injuries . Difference is he won’t get a run at it and grow into it , just the odd opportunity. As for Tai . Shocked with that though it definitely adds interest.
  4. Well at least that's the after meeting disco sorted.
  5. Very much like Lynn, but that is mainly due to the high clay content material which just doesnt suit modern speedway bikes. That said it very, very rarely has bumps and holes. Perhaps a poor track gives Poole greater home advantage and home wins mean more bums on seats. Wouldn't be the first club to do that.
  6. Wonder if Jake Allen is on golfing duty again 🤷‍♂️. Is Nick Morris still ruled out with injury? I know it was a bad crash but no injury news seemed to follow.
  7. Good job Woryna, Kubera & Dudek qualified else it could have been Przedpełski. 😄
  8. Monster's influence and the publicity they hope it generates must be the reason for Tai's involvement. Even allowing for his injuries, we saw nothing in 2024 to warrant his place in the GP again
  9. And brilliantly for us when guesting in last years semi final there. Was unbeaten until his last ride in heat 15.
  10. Wasn't solely the atmosphere at all though. As I said, the production/running of the event for fans at the stadium was very poor. Forgot to mention GB - Bewley didn't ride like I expected him to but Lambert was ok and Brennan gave it a go.
  11. Is that because he wants to use an Oxford or Poole rider? Like Killeen or Kerr?
  12. Oh absolutely, it's a publicity thing at the end of the day. Strange from a sporting perspective at least, alas...
  13. A bit like the AFA. I have been many brilliant meetings at both tracks. The world cup meeting at Poole was amazing. is it the material used or track prep or quality of rider I dont know. Bomber Harris may know as he has had some very poor meetings at Kings Lynn this year and at Poole. It was only 2018 which is not long ago that he pulled off an amazing last lap pass on Jason Doyle to get us to the final that year, he couldnt do that now.
  14. Is it that strange though when you see how SGP works, money, money, money and Monster is the sponsor, who sponsors Tai? Oh yeah! Who got most social media and news media clicks from a crash that went beyond speedway, and they probably think they can create a ‘comeback story’ from it! I think it’s a farce personally but then I’ve thought that for a few years!
  15. Woffinden is lucky here I think, given his performance the last series he was in. Doyle has not had many wildcards previously and did show he can make the finals of GPs even though he was badly injured this season. Fricke is always going to be around the 'not just made the top 6/7/8' I think. The format and any qualification changes may bring some interest otherwise I think there'll be little drama on show.
  16. Wouldn’t have had a meltdown if he wasn’t selected behind the Russians or Fricke or Michelsen or Vaculik ….. however if someone like Becker was in ahead of him then yes How the hell is Tai in there??? Farcical Left out last season …. Has a serious crash that ended his season early So in what way is he a better selection than Michelsen or Vaculik or even Kvech? Wasn’t good enough in 2024 in arguably a weaker line up … has missed a whole season so who knows how good he will be …. Awful choice
  17. Today
  18. "Shall we get a new face in? Someone young, exciting, fresh or should we stick with an old face, someone we at least know will be challenging at the top end?" "What about if we just did neither?" What a strange 3rd pick.
  19. It’s a shame Doyle is in as I was looking forward to Gavans meltdown
  20. Agreed! I would however say this is the strongest line up in years for a SGP series
