They just made that mistake, I’ve just come to the conclusion after over 10 years of British speedway following that it’s the most inconsistent motor sport I have followed, not many consistent performers in both leagues , great to have a high scoring number 1 but comes at a price, a 6 or 7 av number 5 or 3 will always be up and down, meeting was lost after first round , no momentum for bears and no pressure on monarchs and they had their best match of the season on a track that has minimum passing opportunities, run that meeting again tonite would be a different outcome, that my friend is uk speedway and why we follow it -
Such is the state of British speedway, few people are likely to question the morality of Garrity returning to the sport. If he can convince a promotion to give him a team place, a lot of pensioners will be grateful for the distraction.

I'll start with my period of following Sheffield. 1977-1979 Sheffield Speedway was Promoted on behalf of County Speedways (Owlerton Sports Stadium) by John Dews. Then the Promotion rights were put up for sale. 1980-1984 (March) Ray Glover. 1984-1989 (February) Maurice Ducker. 1991-1992 (June) Cliff Carr. 1992 (July)-2013 Neil Machin along with Tim Lucking (1996) Malcolm Wright 1996-2007 Louis Carr was involved up to the end of 2001. David Hoggett 2008-2013 2014-2025 Damien Bates and Peter Mole. 2026 Damien Bates and Louise Mole.

Put it this way, Stal are hopeful for Jack to be back in the starting line up vs Falubaz. Whether he comes straight back to the UK riding or maybe he will give it a week or two we don’t know.

Indeed. I was planning on buying a hot dog when I went in. Turned out to be a really hot dog. Anyway, really enjoyed the meeting. In response to the 'no passing' claim, it's factually incorrect on this occasion. There have been a couple of drab affairs this season (Oxford was beyond dreadful) but tonight was decent. Excellent, solid scoring throughout for the home side. DanT was outstanding and (I think) young Loftus won 3 consecutive races in Monarchs colours for the first time? Happy to be proved wrong on that one. Having highlighted Justin Sedgmen's apparent shortcomings off gate 4 recently, it's only fair I tip my hat to his efforts in heat 3. Well done Sedgy. Also good to see Michele Castagna back on form and SuperGrahn mixing it throughout. It was a night when not a lot went wrong for Monarchs. We also enjoyed the seemingly now customary 5-1 from the Thom(p)son non-twins in heat 13. For the Bears, not too many positives. They did try. Nicolai Klindt even made a pass! Vinnie Foord was good value. And I do like Jody Scott. Such a cool wee style. He looked like he was struggling off the starts all night though and I also think he may have got a tad lucky to be allowed in the rerun of heat 14? Oh well. Roll on next time... -
As predicted an easy home win against a lacklustre and inconsistent Bears side. Looks like the Monarchs are destined for a play off place and Bears have to settle for a possible BSN final but they need to ride better than tonight if they are to beat Berwick. Big decision if they are to replace Klindt with Wright at some point.

Would need to be a low 2 pointer to fit Wright back in. I've been back & forth on whether that double change strengthens the team. But as a top rider can get 5 rides & a 2 pointer only needs 3 plus they'd still have one strong reserve, probably worth a try. -
Any team news regarding Bowes replacement?

I’m sure majority of the forum have the same opinion of yourself. Anyway the speedway. Rather unexpected result, not sure if we were just really good or Redcar were really poor, bit of a mixture. RIP the dale burger van. -

Tremendous level of sour grapes there, kudos To say there was no passing is nonsense Heat 4, Thomson gets third on the line almost second Heat 6 Grahn and Foord passed and repassed Heat 9 Paco on Allen Heat 10 Dan on Allen heat 14 Edwards on Cluff, Paco on Scott Heat 15 all 4 riders changed position at one point or another With a few other exciting enough races thrown in with Klindt buzzing about Thompson in 13 amongst them I’m not saying Armadale is gonna be confused with Belle Vue or Bydgoszcz anytime soon but to say there was no passing is laughably wrong. -

Paid to watch this drivel on BSN, I’m glad I’m not an Edinburgh fan the track looks like gaters paradise , no passing and the stadium facilities look awful. From a Redcar perspective that was pathetic, at least I watched it at home and not paid to go up to Scotland for that one. Getting carried away by the Plymouth result where they had no king or barker and Harris had a mare. Time for Redcar to do something drastic to save the season bring back wright and a 3 pointer and drop Allen or Edwards and Lambert. Harsh but doing nothing i dint think we make play offs. -

Contrived nonsense... Simply set up to provide as many riders as is possible to earn a living. With well meaning, Speedway loving, happy to fund affordable losses, promoters, all colluding together that the sport has some relevance... Who wins?... Who cares? .. -

I meant the whole league is a punishment as it's poor quality. -

Racing at Armadale has deteriorated over the last few seasons.IMO.Track prep seems to be very slick nowadays.Riders probably like it though. -

Unfortunately the p1ss poor meetings are vastly outnumbering the good ones on BSN this year. Edinburgh seems to be a poor destination for decent racing with the home advantage
