The trouble clubs have is that only the diehards want 2h2a the floating fan doesn’t actually care about this and in some cases see this as a negative. I can’t remember the exact figure but from memory Edinburgh announced that back when it was 2h/2a the crowd for the second time a club visited was down something like 15% on average from the first. The sad thing being most clubs now don’t have enough diehards to break even so if clubs are potentially losing money per match this being made up with sponsorship etc then less matches is a better financial model for clubs.

So, despite fans saying "the sport is dying, something has to be done" and "we want more fixtures", it's the same old same old. Promoters don't seem to want to listen and are, basically saying "all is well with the sport". Head in the sand continues from them. Some teams will finish their fixtures in July/early August and some will struggle to get their fixtures in by the end of October. It's pathetic.

I’d prefer Pickering to Brennan too, especially based on form around Owlerton

It doesn’t say much about him when you say he ain’t going to stay straight working in Poundland. Why not?
-
He was almost invariably last in Heat 1 last year, and rarely seemed interested. Be careful what you wish for ...
-
I'm also on the fence about it, because like you say, speedway is his only real hope of getting back on the straight and narrow. He ain't going to stay straight working in Poundland, let's be real. However, you can point to the fact that he was banged up while being a speedway rider, so how many chances do you give someone?
-
or in some cases 4/5 weeks

The date was set/confirmed at the time of the original meeting being cancelled. So unless the meeting planned for tomorrow (6th) is cancelled there’s no need for any further updates. Just for the shareholders who wish to attend to turn up at the appointed place & time.
-
Hopefully most clubs will have a development team too.
-
It’s even the smaller things like team suits. They take time to manufacture and produce, and you need to know what seven riders are going to be in them before you even start! You can get around that by going retro and chucking them all race bibs, but it isn’t ideal. It’s surely too late in the day for Ipswich? Not only has Louis got to agree a sale, the new people will have an awful lot to do in a very short space of time to get them to tapes in March/April. Not only all the red tape and administrative stuff, legalities, sponsorship, team manager, track man? Presenter? And an actual team of riders. Odds against I’d say but hope springs eternal.
-
Apparently not as it's the same as last year 1 home meeting then nothing for 2 weeks fans got to go with that
-
Last year it was suggested on here that the majority of clubs wanted to race twice home & away in the league, but it remained once home & away due to Oxford racing in all 3 leagues. Now if that was true, wouldn't clubs be pushing for twice home & away in 2026 now Oxford are no longer in the Prem?
-
I’m guessing somebody will have to declare the Witches running or not tomorrow 🤷🏼♂️ Everyone else has waited long enough. Fixtures need sorting and season tickets need to be sold. Not looking promising is it.
-
Oh, misunderstood, thought that was what you were saying with +1. Who would be no. 1 then?

He wouldn’t be as brennans average is higher

Believe so. -
Yes I am aware of what out licence means etc - Given his breaches I do not think they are enough to write him off as a lost cause (just yet!) it’s worth noting that his recall still didn’t see him serve the full remainder of his sentence / otherwise he’d be in til 2027! Like I said had he gone out robbing the elderly again I’d be happy to say enough get back inside and don’t come out! what he did was truly despicable particularly targeting elderly and vulnerable and I had also recall having chats with people at Owlerton about him with Sheffield fans at the time they were crowing about how good he was in the 2016 season and I said Robert Lambert was a better long term prospect after their match V Newcastle due to him being a wrong un etc -I even have said on here where is Garrity now as an example of how he’d fallen and Lambert had gone in to great things. I know he is a low life and maybe in just 5 years you will be on here saying ‘I told you so’ but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t get one chance to try and get his life on track! You should read up on a guy called David Martindale.

I would say that it will be Josh Pickering over Tom Brennan after what he told the Speedway Star regarding the structure of the League's for the coming season. Given a choice I would rather go with Josh over Tom.

With the cold weather up and down the country, I predict it could be colder inside at the AGM is it still scheduled for Tuesday ?? -
If you are let out on license and get recalled, you have broken your license conditions. I would hazard a guess that the majority of prisoners who breach license conditions and get recalled end up committing more crimes once serving the full sentence and get recalled. It would be great to log on here in 10 years and see that he has not re offended, is clean and kept his nose clean and relaunched a decent career. But we all know the chance of that is about as likely as seeing Craig Cook crowned world champion. Garrity was well known to be a lowlife well over 10 years ago and the stories of his off track antics were circulating when he came on the scene in the old National League/Conference League (Buxton?). Any promoter taking a chance on him deserves any flack they get.

But until the AGM nothing is totally agreed, things may change last minute. Is the AGM still on Tuesday? Seen nothing to confirm or deny the date !!
