Does anyone know if any research has been done comparing injuries before and after the introduction of air fences? For example how many injuries have been caused by a rider bouncing off an air bag into the path of another rider.
-
From what I remember of Elfield Park and going there was that although the viewing areas around the track were elevated, the track itself was pants!
-
They used to play snippets of it before racing at various stadiums
-
Tate vinnie and jamie putting in some good laps today.

I would try for Adam Ellis

The first section of that is irrelevant, because the team has not been redeclared. There's no doubt the Bears will get 28 days, and if Wright is still not fit after that another facility will be will almost certainly be approved.
-
I’d be very surprised if Kemp joined Redcar. Simply because he wants to make a name for himself in Poland and it’s a logistical nightmare to ride a uk weekend track with his current club.
-
Wright didn't want Prem AFAIK, Iversen very much on Northampton's radar and that may still be the case despite his fall. Smektala also in the frame as well as others already mentioned on the thread.

British final 15th August

Auto correct one assumes rather than somebody deliberately being a berk. -
I think you mean Daugavpils! Yes, it's not easy to get to, being on the Latvian border with Russia, a few hours from Riga, which itself isn't always the easiest place to and from the UK.
-
If you don't find yourself interesting to listen too, god help the rest of us 😜😀
-
Kemp riding for dagulas ? In Poland apparently it's a pain to get to for home meeting so opted out of championship, think klindt has a polish lower level team so lots of fixtures clashes think Plymouth last year
-
I do think it’s me not paying attention, I rarely go on the BSPL website, I am a massive podcast listener because I’m always on the road and they pass the time quickly but strangely I very rarely listen to speedway podcasts and that’s made all the more strange by the fact that I was on one but I just don’t find them interesting
-
That speaks volumes of how well the BSPL promoted it !!! go on the website homepage and under the more option it will appear.
-
So Kyle Howarth guests tomorrow.
-
Can only assume it’s me not paying attention but I never even heard of the British speedway podcast
-
I've not seen it but just from reading the description on updates it sounded like a nothing fall... and he was stuck under the air fence. Another case of a rider ending up under the air fence, why is this still happening some 20 years after their introduction 🤷♂️
-
That's because all involved it the Redcar track preparation are completely clueless and have been since Johnny swales resigned.
-
I would imagine they are waiting for all rider contracts to be signed before they announce, that would be my guess.
-
Is there still nothing on the riders for the coming season?
-
I was sitting about 20 yards away and had a clear view of the track. From what i recall, Underwood hit a rut mid bends 3-4 and lost control. He clattered into Ray who was on a wider line. As you say, Ray went under the fence and sustained a broken femur. Doug i think flew over the fence and landed on the dog track without serious injury. It was of course already a dreadful season, but the sight of Ray being loaded into the ambulance added a big extra feeling of gloom. I think it was a league match v Reading, result something like 31-47?
-
Shame about Charles getting injured last night, but not the first & wont be the last unfortunately to have it happen. Short & long term replacements are going to be hard to find I think. Drew Kemp & Nikolai Klindt spring to mind, or a fresh foreign signing in the hope he comes good very quickly. Oh the joys of promotion/management🙈
-
Very much so, can be season ending or even worse, hopefully not poor lad.

" a lengthy spell"
