  2. Given that Thomsen's only point came from beating Freddie Hodder, he was literally as good as a man short. Leaving the track at the end of heat 10 was the quickest he moved all night.
  3. All kinds of rumours flying around in Greyhound circles about Oxford Stadium, it is a known fact that the MD is currently fighting a serious illness so he may be considering reducing his Stadium portfolio https://greyhoundscene.proboards.com/thread/89396/oxford-rumours-track-close This could have serious implications for Speedway in Oxford who currently field teams in all three divisions.
  4. Great frontman, Ballroom Blitz was my favourite.
  5. Only a small percentage of crashes result in any kind of serious injury, like I said there's no need to linger on it if it does appear more serious just stay on it for few seconds until it's clear a rider is in trouble or not, they've missed a few argey bargey incidents over the years for cutting away too soon. Thought it was a pretty decent match tonight with some good racing for Armadale, happy to see Simon Lambert get in the points.
  6. I agree but the point Ian made was that they don't even show you it during a race if they can avoid it, even a rider sliding off innocuously they immediately cut away. It's frustrating when the commentator is talking about it but you can't see it, I suppose it's just another example of the nanny state we live in these days. Like everyone else I don't want to see any rider injured but crashes and falls are part & parcel of the sport we love, yet they are removed from our view. edit; there's not many more violent sports than boxing, soon they'll be cutting away when someone gets decked.
  7. He got those points from a wet and heavy track the inexperienced Glasgow riders couldn't get to grips with. The rider we got tonight is the real one, I'm not sure why people are surprised. We would have been better running r/r with Flint taking the ht8 ride.
  8. Think it is wise not too repeat incident and crash until the condition of riders is known out of respect. They show you the incident again in most cases.

  11. Can sort of understand it from TNT, they don't seem to have anyone in their production crew who know much about speedway, so maybe someone has said not to show crashes on replay while riders are down and they've taken it literally that the aftermath of crashes and falls aren't to be shown at all, TNT are useless for speedway. BSN you would have thought know better but, as you say, they cut away every time. Must admit I've had good value out of the subscription to BSN, didn't do it last season as I thought it was too expensive for the full pass but it's not too bad considering it often keeps me in on a Friday night instead of tipping even more money over pub bars. Been some decent meetings in the Championship, glad I took the plunge.
  12. Close but no cigar for scorpions, again to many No scores, need a number 3 to score at least, match the scorpions should of won, lambert scoring at reserve helps ,backed up well, all team (except Harrison) need to ride more, one league not enough
  13. Today
  14. I remember Poland showing the fatal crash with Lee Richardson, not very nice at all
  15. Yes it was, they showed it on BSN, brilliant race, four abreast going into the 2nd lap, plenty of trust being shown by all riders.
  16. Hope he was on a guarantee....!😉
  17. Without a doubt I’d love to have him at Stal. They just couldn’t agree terms I believe so they have moved on. He can clearly ride the Stadion im.Edwarda Jancarza very well!
  18. He looked ok ,he layed it down really.Worrell was pathetic for rider of his experience.Thinks he brought the wrong engine, heard it all now.
  19. Yeah, I get that regarding Nicholls... the Polish tv shows the aftermath of a crash and only cut away if it looks serious. Don't know why TNT also cut away unless it's something to do with ofcom rules in the UK 🤷‍♂️
  20. TNT do the same, as regards the Scott crash if it was worse than what it was, they wouldn't be showing it, cameras only zoom in when they know the rider is ok
  21. Great meeting both teams fought for every point Well done worky . Always a pleasure visiting Glasgow , great people and a fantastic race circuit .
  22. Why though? When you're at a meeting you don't start looking into the distance in the opposite direction, you want to see if the rider(s) are okay or maybe even watch some handbags unfold. I can understand cutting away if it becomes obvious that a rider is in distress, nobody wants to see that, but BSN instantly cut away every time a rider goes down and there's no need for it, they're quite happy to show Scott Nicholls season ending crash in their opening credits.
