  1. Cook, Batch, Berge in the same team is a car crash waiting to happen

  2. Given worky have several inconsistencies in their line up surely you want someone in there going to score a steady 6-8 every meeting. How to put this sensitively, Dimitri has what they call a Gaelic temperament and if he's not in the mood then you'll have 2 point reserves beating him. For context see bellego last year. He might score you a max one week and 0 the next, always the way he's been in this country. Would he have his best equipment and attitude over here? I have my severe doubts!

  3. Out of all the teams in the Championship, the Workington one interests me the most. Not only a female rider but a few unknown quantities and I think they will be entertaining to watch and could spring a few surprises. If Cookie and Batch can both get into the mindset where they are determined to prove the doubters wrong and ride to their full capabilities then who knows how far the team can go. I wish the promotion well and for "thinking outside the box" and it's certainly a team which has got people talking. Good luck!

  4. He wont be one of the best riders in the league, he is inconsistent and will not be a top scorer. A very risky choice but not the only risky choice is this team.

  5. I must admit,, I was expecting a bit more from Rew in Aus Champs

  6. Berge’s “personality’ has always been if he’s not in the mood he doesn’t try a leg,as some Clubs have found out.

  7. Bergé was doing great riding for my club Landshut in the Polish Div.1 in the past two years. Moody, yes, sometimes, but most of the time simply brillant. He concentrates on speedway now, and does not ride in long-track or grass track meetings anymore.

  8. He's not proved anything in Britain other than being moody.

  9. Berge has/had gone AWOL in past seasons, and that's before polish, long track and grasstrack commitments at weekends

  10. Yes exactly this, the world we live in prices continue to rise and I’m sure most clubs will be hiking there prices up again this coming season. Lowering the product but increasing the price same old British speedway.

  11. Vastly underrated rider IMO still a force to be reckoned with on his day !

  12. I’m sure once the novelty has worn off the crowds will too, personally can’t see hundreds and hundreds of fans going just to see her.

  13. Not really, I’m sure her signing will have hundreds and thousand of old fans flocking back to every track to drag this sport out of the mess it finds itself in.

  15. Yes Bellego looked a reasonable signing until he actually got on his bike! Berge has a relatively poor average given his ability, typical of most French sportsmen he can be brilliant but too often isn't.

  17. £25 must be the Glasgow admission price !! Worky and others are £20 granted it should be less for a diluted product but yhrm in charge can't see this !!

  18. But if there’s a handful for example then it will make absolutely no difference whatsoever. Clubs are closing every time you blink and because one team signs a woman rider that’s not going to change things, really the only people who this appeals to will be mainly people who follow speedway anyway imo.

  19. I'd say the riding order almost picks itself....MPT/Wojdylo at 2, Tarasenko at 5 and Basso/Iversen either way round at 3&4.

  20. More than happy too! Sheffield are top heavy with big hitters at home that don’t do enough away. Getting Holder back after the performance in the play off at Ipswich is crazy. Would have kept Tobi personally and built around him. Belle Vue kept a decent core and Bewley needs to get back to his best over here. Mountain leaves them with a poor reserve pairing. Ipswich have strengthened with Ellis for Riss, thomas is a good signing and they could go one better than last year now Rew has had a full season. Kings Lynn will be the dark horses for me. Bags of potential with some experience to boot. leicester are built very much like wolves last year but with a proper no1 in Fricke, will do reasonably well at home but take some hidings away brum…well, we’ll see how they finish Edit-Jenkins at Ipswich, not Thomas!

  23. l'm truly impressed by Workington's signing Ms Liebmann, it'll be huge publicity, bums-on-seats and all the hoopla. Great for the Comets and the sport all over. But l'm afraid Dayle Wood, let alone Mickey West, has the beating of the lovely Celina.....

  24. Not sure what you're asking here my comment was in answer to the joint Sheffield scunthorpe team winning the league . And never said riders getting beat every week would be better . I said if my rider is better at the end of the year than the beginning I'm not to bothered on who wins the league

  25. Michael West's under 24 Ekstraliga average last year was nearly triple Celina's.

  28. Anyone who saw Covatti at the OTA in 2019 will know what a truly spectacular and special sight he was in full flow. Him and Barker in 13 and 15 won't be pushovers and will certainly be entertaining Plymouth will have one of if not the best reserve pairings all season based of averages and form so strong in equally key heats It's really a case of Newman and Bowtell riding well to support top 2 and the other 3 progressing. It's clearly not the awful team some doom mongers are predicting and lots of entertainment Probable.

  29. It’s seems I might be on my own on this one but I reckon signing Covatti has completely transformed this team. I think the Gladiators will put an end to the expectation that they’ll be easy meat on their home turf. As long as they remain injury free, the blend of youth and experience plus Garry May’s expertise should see Plymouth top half in 2024. IMO
