bigcatdiary 3,175 Posted May 29, 2016 So what's the rule now if you nominate a rider for ht 15 and he gets excluded on 2 minutes ??[/ Tape breaking/touching, returning to pits or exceeding 2 mins are all covered under 15.3 15.14 TOP SCORER’S HEAT (Heat 15 in all EL, PL and NL Competitions). 15.14.1 Gate Positions are determined by the outcome of the Coin Toss at the start of the Meeting. 15.14.2 The Home Team Manager nominates first, but once nominated these cannot be amended, except by the Referee should the nomination not conform to the Regulations. 15.14.3 Nominations must be a “qualified” rider, determined as either: a) A Top 3 Points Scorer (counting the 4 x Programmed Rides only including Bonus Points) or if one of those Top 3 Point Scorers has already taken 7 Rides, then the 4th highest Points Scorer becomes a “qualified” rider. (NB. No facility is available allowing another rider to be elevated to the qualified list if any of those Top 3 Points Scorers is unavailable due to being withdrawn or has no equipment) OR A rider in the top 3 of that Meeting’s Team by current MA (NB. a Team missing one of their Top 3 and using the RR Facility may use the 4th highest rider by MA). If a rider is disqualified for an offence under Art 15.3 or a non-disqualified rider is unable to take part in a re-run (FN) then the place may be taken by a Reserve or another “qualified” rider. damosuzuki 696 Posted May 29, 2016 Great afternoon, big crowd, scorchio. Unlucky lunna. Rose impressed again. Lawson is the bomb this season.
Solidmango 188 Posted May 29, 2016 All fans look for is consistency. In the Berwick v Newcastle match Ben Barker touched the tapes first followed by Theo (shows on video). Scott tried to replace Theo with Thomas (blocked), he then tried to replace with Matty (blocked). This was in his program notes. Theo had to go from 15mtrs which moved Seb from his chosen gate. If Lawson's team-mate was off 15mtrs there would have been more pressure on him. Just noticed in the Scunny v Sheffield match Davies touched the tapes and was replaced by Nielsen (reserve replacement). You're right about the Scunthorpe match but Nielsen was probably the next choice anyway given he had 12+1 at that point. Anyway, the rule is the rule and nobody, other than Richie breaking the tapes, broke the rules. We should be talking about how terrific the meeting was, some incredible racing and Lunna was so unlucky not to score more than he did!
MD 1,326 Posted May 29, 2016 Lunna was so unlucky not to score more than he did! Really needs to work on his gating though is exciting to watch when he chases riders down. He was really lucky not to have been injured in his charge after Rose who momentarily slowed up on turn four and Lunna ran into the side of him. We are getting to the bit of the season we need him to come to the fore as he's not going to get a shot at reserve.

acclennell 141 Posted May 29, 2016 Being able to replace a rider who has been excluded with another rider within the main scorers in heat 15 is wrong - however would have made no difference to the result as too many riders did not perform today. MK and DP are a concern at the moment as their form recently has been poor. RL is a class act and I see he is furious with himself after today's performance. Not confident about tomorrow at all as Glasgow have a few Brough specialists in their ranks and we are missing 2 key riders.

He will get a shot at reserve, Garcia is due to move up anytime and he'll move down. Then we'll see him score some big points I'm sure!

tyretrax 2,258 Posted May 29, 2016 Doesn't need amending just needs enforcing. It was enforced, Aaron Summers replaced Richie Worral. Thanks to Jim Beaton who picked up Nike today when he broke down on his way to Ashfield. Shame that he had to pay entry into the stadium.
speed ace 64 Posted May 29, 2016 It was enforced, Aaron Summers replaced Richie Worral. :cheers:Thanks to Jim Beaton who picked up Nike today when he broke down on his way to Ashfield. Shame that he had to pay entry into the stadium. Not really surprised, these are business men running this not a charity, definitely no sentiment in business you know, haven't you noticed every penny is required, one of the Facenas at the front gate today where the 50/50 tickets were being sold, telling people the draw was for £500, and yet when it came to drawing it, it was announced as £420. Maybe they gave Jim the other £80.
Fromafar 10,497 Posted May 29, 2016 Yep I recall that so if it wasn't allowed at Berwick why was it allowed today? Only in speedway. Its pathetic really the people running the sport can interpretate the rules differently.Like you say only in speedway.
Gazc 7,193 Posted May 30, 2016 Lunna is 0.85 above Garcia from the next set of averages effective from 1 June. Come 1st July though Coty will move up as his rolling average will be much higher as his scores this season will impact it more.
bruno 1,797 Posted May 30, 2016 Well what a great day out, it felt like a modern motorcycle meeting not a dated day out from 30 or 40 years ago. Great racing modern facilities and a feel good factor about the place. Amazed by the age of the crowd, lots of youngsters there who got on the centre green to meet roary the tiger then take take part in a running race. They looked like they loved it, about 50 of them. The crowd were kept involved and the amount of 18 to 35 year olds was brilliant. They chanted and got behind the riders and had a great day out. Staff even bought ice creams round trying to get extra revenue in, never seen that before.viewing brilliant and looked like a promotion who take care of the small details. Even had someone going round after the meeting picking the litter up. Very impressed. Agree with a post above the 50/50 seller was saying 500 pound pay out when it wasn't. Not far off though. The only downside was the inside line. Basically there isn't one. If this could be sorted somehow what a place it would be. Take a bow Glasgow worth every penny and will definitely be back next year despite a 5 hour journey!
SharpenRake 1,512 Posted May 30, 2016 (edited) Its pathetic really the people running the sport can interpretate the rules differently.Like you say only in speedway. The ref didn't interpret the rules he applied them. If other refs get it wrong then something should be done about it but would say football is an example where rules can be interpreted differently - offside handball etc. Have I mentioned what a brilliant match it was Edited May 30, 2016 by SharpenRake
Tsunami 10,219 Posted May 30, 2016 (edited) Its pathetic really the people running the sport can interpretate the rules differently.Like you say only in speedway. Our Team manager is still waiting from the SCB, an answer to his query about this rule, following identical circumstances at our away meeting at Berwick recently when Jorgenson was intended to be the replacement. Apparently it was never meant to help a guilty team of an infringement. Richie should have gone off 15 metres, or his replacement replace him with the same penalty. If that is not applied, then the tactics is to put you fastest rider in, and if he breaks the tapes. you put you best gater in to replace him. Absolute stupidity. To those who say it didn't matter anyway, you are wrong. We were 7 points behind going into heat 15, and with Richie or replacement off 15 metres, we might or could have got a 5-1 or a 4-2 to give us a match point. All 4 from the gate stopped that.
