Team Gb For World Cup

Recommended Posts

Rosco has confirmed that his team choice will be made after the practice session on the day so I guess it will come down to form on the day and how they ride the track in that.

He is going to have to make some sort of decision before practice- because only 5 senior team riders plus the U21 can take part in the session.

Surely he must mean a "behind closed doors" session, where he'll have all the squad, and then trim it down to 5 and the reserve....? And then pick the 4 from 5 at the official practise mentioned..?

From what mdmc82 has said - Rosco said " on the day "

He said no team announced till after the practice so I assume that means in the day.

Harris scored 7 out of 15 had a 2nd and a 3rd hardly sensational ,but credit is due as he work hard for them.Probably should be a pick given the standard of the other Brits.

2+1 for Harris in Poland today, only beaten the oppositions reserves and replaced in his last ride.

He hadn't rode in Poland much this season so wouldn't worry too much. It's what he does here that matters

Absolutely it isn't what he does here that counts.

Not many UK tracks are high speed like Poland, Belle Vue and the GP's. And to put it bluntly, he's been pretty s#!+ at all.

What he does at Leicester, Lakeside, Wolverhampton etc in league fixtures counts for nothing

The Prague track is 353 metres, bigger than Belle Vue.

Then rides in the Polish 2nd Division and scores 2+1

You must have watched a different meeting. He gifted Holder a point in one race .

Why would he gift holder a point when they are battling for the world title? Why would he be happy just qualifying for the semi?you mention saving himself for the gps, why then would he not give his all IN the gps? Really strange post

My Final pick would be the following;

Tai Woffinden, absolute no brainer.

Robert Lambert; Superb young talent and appears that he could handle the pressure.

Craig Cook; has the home track knowledge.

Chris Bomber Harris, never really let us down when he pulls on the Team GB race jacket.

Under 21 reserve

Josh Bates just edges out Adam Ellis.

Time for Harris to move over, having been in the side for over 10 years. He was top scorer a couple of times but this year has been poor in the GPs (Prague was the exception), dire in Poland, can't get a ride in Sweden and hopeless at the British Final. Cannot see how he stands any chance of a pick. The others, apart from Woffinden, are all a bit up and down but at Belle Vue it has to be Cook (off topic, why is he not a reserve for Cardiff?), Lambert is the blue eyed boy at the moment getting wildcards all over the place so the BSPA will smile on him, leaving one spot in the main body. Difficult but I favour Nicholls purely on the basis he's doing well in Sweden against the top guys from overseas and rides for Belle Vue, having beaten King when they've met this year. However, I only think Woff, Cook and Lambert are certain.
