Glasgow V Workington Pl Sunday 7 August 3pm

Recommended Posts

dont worry , glasgow can afford the rain offs . i think there will be one tandem missing from the tandem race as robert lambert needs it for his meeting at newcastle . last nights tandem was a good bit short on power . no sponges or fuel tap issues with a tandem .

hope all riders have a safe and an entertaining meeting for the fans . worky charged 10 pounds entry last night and this put a fair few on the gate . the same last week .(see peterborough w/site pics of main stand from last weeks meet ).. . pretty full .

victory is ours .!

Pretty poor meeting for the first half, Worky never really got going until ht13, being poorly served by their woeful middle order of Campton, Hansen and Jensen. EF's for Worrall and Lunna stopped Glasgow hitting 60 though only just.

Ht15 was decent as Lawson went from third to first. Lunna again ran riot from reserve but perhaps the only memorable part of the meeting was the unseasonable wind which made poor opposition all the less bearable to watch.

Was expecting better from Workington today but take nothing away from Glasgow they were extremely good again today with everybody riding well young Nike really has come on leaps & bounds as the season has progressed he was a joy to watch.

Special mention to Coty was more like what we know he can do today and riding hard first & second bends :t: .

Whilst it was not quite as easy as last week it was still a surprise to win so comfortably against a decent Workington side.

If worky do make the play offs they'd have to win their home legs by 30 pts,and hope it's enough,so frustrating how a team can be nigh unbeatable at home and ride like a nl select away

Very disappointing performance again at Glasgow by us, just really seem completely unable to transfer our home form to any away tracks in the PL?

It's not looking good at the moment with Somerset and now Glasgow putting us to the sword, I can hardly see us beating either of just those two over two legs in anything to be in with a chance of any silverware, just simply cannot understand it?

Perhaps Glasgow today were just plain better than us but surely we could have competed far more than we did, our guys should be well used to these tracks by now to be showing up much more than we currently do?

Must be frustrating as they do look to be a decent side just never saw that today although the way we are riding no-one will get close at Ashfield.

Remember the Stoney days Comets win at Glasgow was a banker most off the time.

We haven't been beaten at home and were at max strength - This is how we are performing at home this season, though away is a different story.

With the league being so competitive this season and we are inconsistent away from home as everyone else bar Somerset, away wins are difficult to get unless they all click as we did at Berwick.

Towards the end of the Stoney era im sure the Worky track started to be prepared super slick and things changed. They used to be best visitors to GLA by far but not for the last 10 years by and large.

If both clubs had the same teams now as they had then you're probably right but they haven't

You could be talking about Glasgow at times this season. Pumped by Scunny away, hammered them at home.

Not as easy as last week yet you were further ahead at heat 14 than last week, interesting logic!🤔

Simple really Worky were slightly better on track today than Edinburgh were last week not by much mind you.

Scores sometimes don't always tell the full story is that logic ok for you.

Edinburgh were woeful last week and that is being kind.

Workington were just slightly better than woeful this week.

A highly impressive 'gubbing' handed out by the Stripes today. Both sides will meet again in the LC semi in a month's time, can Glasgow be as dominant again? Can Worky be so poor again? Now we're fast approaching the business end of the season, with the league fixtures beginning to dwindle and clubs look to secure a play-off spot, it's all very much about building, and delivering, winning form at the right time to reach finals and win trophies - on today's showing it certainly looked like Glasgow were full of confidence and fight which will be required in bucket loads over the coming weeks.

Tough weekend coming up with 3 in 3 days which will severely test that winning attitude and determination.

More like October than August in the Charlie Monk stand today , racing was pretty poor too apart from when Lunna missed the gate and heat 15 . Worst Workington team in living memory at Ashfield , but it's another three points in our quest for honours .
