Crazy robin 2,966 Posted September 16, 2016 Can't we do a Poole and fit in former GP reserve Jurica Pavlic (lakeside track specialist) for the final meeting? There surely must be a small loophole somewhere? If memory suits me didn't we go to Lakeside after that 21 point max & Pavlic scored 0 & had been on the lash the night before the meeting?. A ORLOV 8,628 Posted September 16, 2016 (edited) It would be interesting to know how many people Lakeside have ready to put out and then take off any track covers if that is what they are planning to do, people may then realise what a major job it is. Ace no.5 169 Posted September 16, 2016 Just looked at live weather radar on my phone. There's a hell of a lot of rain about down in the south east and there has been all morning but the track seems to have got off pretty lightly in comparison to other areas. Still a long way to go till time of the meeting though and still a significant risk of more rain to come.
Daytripper 1,123 Posted September 16, 2016 Work is in progress on the track. The forecast is cautiously optimistic. Â http://www.lakesidehammers.co/10-30am-track-update/
TRM 97 Posted September 16, 2016 Bryn, are you likely to be posting weather updates today from trackside?
Halifaxtiger 5,318 Posted September 16, 2016 The website said a couple of days ago there are plans to deal with the weather. The forecast has been changing every few hours for the last few days. Do you expect a bulletin everytime the weather forecast changes ? Â Â The problem is different forecasts are saying different things right now, The track staff just have to do the best they can when they can to have things ready. Â That's simply not true. While Met Office have been putting back the point that the rain will arrive, they have consistently stated 12-5. XC Weather state 1-4, so do Netweather. Â Heavy rain between 1 & 4 is confirmed on almost every weather website. Â I certainly don't expect constant updates, but an explanation as to what they propose to do would be appreciated and cost absolutely nothing. Â Work is in progress on the track. The forecast is cautiously optimistic. Â http://www.lakesidehammers.co/10-30am-track-update/ Â The rain hadn't missed because it hadn't arrived. I am in Brentwood and it started about 12. cityrebel 2,960 Posted September 16, 2016 The main rain band does seem to be breaking up. All is not lost, yet!
Steve Shovlar 10,439 Posted September 16, 2016 (edited) This will go ahead. Theres a band of rain heading east which has cleared Reading and will hit but after that it looks clear unless the rain changes direction. Â Let the best team win. Bryn 413 Posted September 16, 2016 I'm likely to be at he track circa 4pm and will be on phone answering duties from then on. Here in Erith (Kent) circa two miles at most from Dartford tunnel we've only had sporadic light rain this morning since I crawled out of my pit circa 7.45am. IF there were no houses on the opposite side of the road to me, then I would get a clear view of the Dartford Bridge and surrounding area the Essex side of the Thames. I assume there's been no change to the 10.30am update and photos on the club's official site at: http://www.lakesidehammers.co/10-30am-track-update/
