R87 476 Posted October 4, 2016 Didn't mention it earlier but despicable behaviour from a few Belle Vue fans at the end of tonight's meeting starting a fight because their team had lost. Absolutely NOT what we want at speedway meetings. Any Wolves fans provoking also out of line, Happened on the steps outside the bar. Didn't see what actually happened, just saw several stewards dash in to break whatever it was up.
mikebv 10,357 Posted October 4, 2016 Can see the B/W helmet cover being the difference sadly.. Can see Woffy or Freddie delivering at least four points if wearing it.. Strange choice to give it Zagar who has proved time and again incapable of handling the pressure situations. (Five last night, five last year away at Poole in the Final) He also isn't great around Monmore and we had a track specialist in Cook in the same race.. Oh well.... Just need four 5-1's, two 4-2's, eight 3-3's and a 4-4 and the jobs a good 'un..😁
g13webb 4,254 Posted October 4, 2016 (edited) Never been a lover of the Wolves track, usually prepared OK but with long straight and tight corners it gives a massive home advantage. Fans go on about lots of overtaking but most are down to mistakes, made usually by the away side. If you make a good gate and ride the track right, then your win, as proved last night many times. How many times were mistakes made when in front, Not many... BV is a totally different track, but one I should imagine far easier to ride. I cant see riders making that many mistakes, when the most important aspect is to keep the speed on the bikes The first two races highlighted the problems BV had the whole match. Heat 1 Worrall drifting from the inside to allow PK past, Heat 2 Worrall going through he tapes, two instances that said the BV riders were not dialled in. Cookie and Scott also not at the party to start with but they got better. All points to bad preparation that allow Wolves the opportunity to clear off into the distance. I thought Wolves were brilliant. From the first race they were on it and that has to be down the management team. Top marks to Pete Adams. Mark Lemon still has a lot to learn... I don't think Wolves will need a tac ride. Edited October 4, 2016 by foreverblue
lisa-colette 6,058 Posted October 4, 2016 No Tai, surprising......Thorsell looked quick in his last ride but I don't get that decision.Really? You think Tai wants to ride with Freddie??! Amazed at the amount of bitter Poole fans floating about.. commenting on the track when they a mx track that even there best rider says is s**t and then the fact Wolves brought Woffinden into the team despite the fact it was legal unlike all the moves they have pulled to get riders in (see Hans is riding in the individual at Poole, looks like that season ending injury is ok)Tbf Holder said all the UK tracks are s***. arnieg 3,690 Posted October 4, 2016 Did Woffinden no harm riding on the small tracks of Rye House & Wolverhampton, and then becoming a top rider in Swedish & Polish leagues and winning the SGP Wuffy started his career at Pinjar Park so Rye House and Wolverhampton were big tracks to him!
Tommy Sweetman 480 Posted October 4, 2016 Happened on the steps outside the bar. Didn't see what actually happened, just saw several stewards dash in to break whatever it was up.It was handbags. But did hear yam-yam c---s mentioned.Just a couple of Belle Vue fans involved, but lucky it was at Monmore and not at the Molineux.
woodenspoon 157 Posted October 4, 2016 Yet another shocking first leg in the Play Off final for Belle Vue, we now have the unenviable record of raced 5 matches in the final and never won one. The Wolves fans can get ready to celebrate, baring a miracle, I cannot see Wolves having as many last places at the NSS. A bit premature, but Congratulations Wolverhampton. marko 956 Posted October 4, 2016 Happened on the steps outside the bar. Didn't see what actually happened, just saw several stewards dash in to break whatever it was up. Just out of interest what is the capacity of Monmore Green? As there is only that limited space on the home straight, when it's busy it looks like it would be uncomfortable viewing and with everyone thrown in one space I'm not surprised scuffles break out when things get heated. Well done to Wolves by the way, Belle Vue fans will you be the first to step up to the plate, club together and buy your team something to commemorate the fact you finished top of the league table? Phil The Ace 2,864 Posted October 4, 2016 We have a few idiot fans amongst us that seem to come out of the woodwork for.the final. They were loud and boisterous all night. To the point that I moved away from them. I don't mind a pantomime boo here or there but it went to far last night. But the fight was down to just 1 idiot wolves fan who walked straight up to them to start a fight. Instead of ignoring him our idiot fans kicked off and retaliated. Not good to see. It was a sour wnd to what was a sour performance. At least you can all use that famous hash tag #bellevuedit
auntie doris 2,345 Posted October 4, 2016 (edited) Well done to the Yams, probable 3 play-off wins not finishing top, but thems the rules. Poor if a few Mancs or Wolves fans caused trouble, they weren't wearing sombreros? Down with this sort of thing at speedway, stick to football. Remember there were a few problems with the Yam Army at Swindon in 2009 Final. Its not Poland ya meatheads! Edited October 4, 2016 by auntie doris
flagrag 705 Posted October 4, 2016 (edited) Overall I didn't think it was too bad a meeting just not the result that everybody thought it would be. One thing that Wolves do need to do is improve is the lighting at Monmore last night it was terrible. It is so hard to work with so much it I think it distracts from the coverage as so many dark spots with that horrible yellow tinge. The slo mo replays look grainy and washed out but nothing could be done I know we have the same problem with the greyhounds so only do tv meeting in the summer Edited October 4, 2016 by flagrag

Absolutely NOT what we want at speedway meetings. Any Wolves fans provoking also out of line, I agree 100% but i can tell you it was started by a wolves fan as i was stood next to it, but id blame both. It was also only 1 fan from each club the others were trying to calm it down. I was livid as my son nearly got stuck in the middle of it, not what you want or expect to see at speedway.
one of clubs 118 Posted October 4, 2016 What a very disappointing performance from BV last night. We were a pale shadow of our former selves and only CC and SW can come away from Wolves with any credit. We have too much to do now.
SUPERACE 440 Posted October 4, 2016 The most disappointing thing for me is the fact we have blown it again in leg 1 just like all our previous finals. There was no comeback then and there wont be one this tine either. Wolves will easily defend 18 points. An amazing stat is the Aces have an 100% win record in semi final legs 5 out of 5 and a 0% win record in final legs 5 out of 5 so far.
