For those of us who don't get the star, are you allowed to enlighten us?? If it is to do with his son etc., he has my greatest sympathy.

Any issues with his son etc are not mentioned.

The gist of the article headed 'Red Tape Tangle' is as follows.

"Poole Team Manager Neil Middleditch admits Chris Holder is 'just a name on a list'!..

....the Aussie is currently competing in Poland and Sweden...and is working to resolve the red tape currently stopping him from racing for Poole.

...it seems incredible that a former World Champion is still sweating on a visa for a country where he has lived for over a decade, has a son and owns property, while footballers - admittedly paying millions more in tax - can seemingly transfer to the UK at the drop of a hat....

...The Pirates boss accepts the club will have to bide their time 'its all red tape.Unfortunately Chris is just a name on a list. Its a case of when they get to him, they get to him!'..

...it was all going through, and then it hit stumbling blocks. The brakes are on. There is nothing we can do. You can't hurry these things unfortunately, it doesn't matter who you are. You're just a name on a list."

Bearing in mind that the visa application process could not have begun until Holder's ban was finished (as until that time he didn't have an actual job!) the paperwork would have had to be 100% correct!  Maybe it wasn't and maybe there was an objection to it - which may be part of the 'stumbling block' referred to in the article.

Hopefully it will be resolved sooner rather than later. watch this space!;)

Mind you Kildemand has been crap recently. Also worked as an agent for Swindon the other night.

28 day's will hopefully pass very quickly.

Killer hasn't set the word alight in his month for Poole..He's a temp and has been riding for a poor team (at the mo) which don't help. He has dropped 0.43 off of his starting average of 7.10.

I think some Poole fans probably thought he was a bit of a "ringer" on that average, and expect him to up his average. Linus and Josh have dropped far more off of their starting averages.

Smolli in for Killer for a month, don't seem like a good move, unless Matt has got his average dropped to about 4 ;). Just shows how hard it must be find riders..

I don't read the Star and don't know why Holder can't get a permit to ride in the UK. He's been riding over here for years and never had a problem. Surely he must of known before he agreed to ride in the UK that this year was a problem.

I thought Ford was keeping him on ice on his low average until the new aves come out. Not sure now.

Skidder 1

Just read your post re Holder. Cheers.

Kildemand has been absolute pants. Either missing the gate by a mile or chosing wrong lines or someone farts in the crowd and he falls off. Been abysmal cover for Holder.

Smolinski is no answer but being used as a stop gap. You never know he might suprise us and put another rider out of a job.

PK has been our 2nd best rider. You should know this considering you go every week.

Anyway have you had any more thought's on the bet yet? What odds are you offering me?

Maybe they are applying for the wrong visa. As a parent of a British child he can apply for one of these: https://www.gov.uk/uk-family-visa/parent

But you don't automatically get that right. You need to put in the application.

Unfortunately, the whole visa thing has become extremely complicated since the new rules of 2012, and you need to make sure everything is done correctly.

To be fair to SS, in a poor team it is easily possible to be the second best rider and still be abysmal.

He hasn't been abysmal. He has been poor lately. But calling him abysmal is beyond pathetic. Done well early doors for us.

Mixed bag is a fair assessment.

He hasnt been abysmal he has done ok but maybe not as well as Holder.

Clear that the issues with Poole are the 2 Poles not doing better and Linus being poor and Josh being ok. Yet it was Sahnes who went?

Reckon they know which visa is needed.

As the article says stumbling blocks have been put in the way .

You mention the 2 Poles and Josh as "ok"

The 2 poles are doing their average .. Josh and Linus are the poor ones..

Josh starting ave  7.34   now 5.45

Linus ..................   7.22 now 5.20

Spanner .............. 4.54 now 4.73  up

Woryna .............. 4.65 now 4.76 up

The two over hyped Poles are doing no better than Joe Jacobs and Ellis Perks could have done with some encouragement. What a waste of money and British talent.

I gave you the bet. You failed accept them Ross. And if you think Kildemands average of 6.67 is not abysmal, considering he was in the GP’s and Swindons number one two seasons ago, you don’t know anything about speedway.

I didn't accept or decline.

You're backtracking now

You wouldn't pay me my winning's anyway. You're not a man of your word.
