The Doctor... 1,478 Posted July 31, 2017 Why on earth would Buster risk making another team stronger.. he has done this brilliantly. Got rid of two riders he didnt want st the club and made it so other teams cant benifit.. not sure what the bitching is about. He doesnt owe them a thing Exactly, weren't some of these same people having kittens when Ford enabled KK to swan off to Rye just a few days back saying he was crazy to let it happen... Both of these riders, once they had been shamed (albeit not named specifically) in the Lynn press release after the debacle a few weeks back, should have had the brains to know they were sitting ducks to be made mugs of, especially with so many riders kicking their heels on the sidelines. Twitter is worth a laugh tonight.. Batch has blocked me already, Holder soon i'm sure.
Paulco 7,145 Posted July 31, 2017 (edited) Thankful to read one or two more balanced posts on here after some of the earlier ones spitting venom in the riders' direction. It's appalling by Chapman. Holder has given endless entertainment to speedway fans, Batchelor has been a King's Lynn rider since 2005, and yet they can be treated like dirt and put out of work? You don't need to support their actions in that awful KL meeting with Poole to think that they have been badly treated, and when it is the Chairman of the BSPA who has done it then it is truly a very black day for British speedway. Not only does E I Addio have the best name on the BSF he has also written one of the best posts. Coventry_Bee also (the post not the name). I understand your point of view , but maybe it is time to make an example of riders who hold their clubs to ransom and treat that clubs fans with contempt . Ok Chapman's timing was a bit spiteful , but understandable as he's got a business to protect and those two riders , by their actions , were endangering that . How many people who were at Kings Lynn that night had decided enough was enough with speedway after that debacle ? No rider , ex world champion or not , should be bigger than the club . flagrag 707 Posted July 31, 2017 The Gomolski situation I understand was a bit different as Kings Lynn signed him and then realised that he was in SEC series so would be missing at Leicester on Saturday with no facility and also that he had a meeting in Poland that clashed with another KL away meeting
pubichair 167 Posted July 31, 2017 Busters getting some unfair criticism! If anyone else's riders done what they did they would be calling for them to be sacked surely!? reading people on twitter saying they won't go anymore this season just shows what a bunch of petty fans we have! And can't class yourselves as real supporters!

Starman2006 2,356 Posted July 31, 2017 (edited) Sorry mate but Keith's business if the riders don't want to be part of it best they are removed. Yeh fair comment. But he should have heavily fined them first, then say do it again then your gone, no questions. Edited July 31, 2017 by Starman2006

hyabb17 1,077 Posted July 31, 2017 (edited) I'm not a Poole fan. I think it's wrong that the riders were only told today & therefore prevented for signing elsewhere. That IMO is wrong & comes across petty. I wonder what would have happened if the riders walked out a day after the window closed. As I've said, shows how it's time for an independent body to run the sport & not allows owners/promoters to do what they want, when they want. The riders may only have been told today but other promoters will have known since Friday when the team was redeclared. Pretty obvious none of the other promoters wanted to sign them. So them going round begging would have made no difference so it's incorrect to say they were prevented from signing elsewhere.

It could well have been only the management committee who knew- they are the ones who give the green light to changes.

Like Rusty Harrisons departure from Edinburgh in the 2000's. There are two sides to every story and I doubt we have or will ever get the true facts of what actually went on. Aussie whining is legendary but they shouldnt over estimate their importance. They are much less valuable now they have to enter our league on a minimium 5 average. Lets remember they are here as there is no equivalent league set up in their country. Thats why they jump through hoops to meet the visa criteria, flying halfway round the world and getting paid to do what would be their hobby at home, in a country culturally similar to home and which shares the same language. For most we are happy to have them, but please spare me the sentiment that we cant survive without them a la Sedgmen on twitter.
