OveFundinFan 4,143 Posted September 13, 2021 Bewley not good enough yet. I think for 2022 we got good four between the Euro champion, three from GP Challenge, add the top 6 from this year plus Madsen, Doyle, Lambert, Vaculik, Thomson . Those 15 give a good line up, looks a lot better then 2021 looked/is.

Dan is about the same stage as Robert was this time last year as far as Poland is concerned, but still well behind on the international scene. But which one will get the nod for the SON? The home specialist or the more experienced rider?

r8gdp 461 Posted September 13, 2021 I know it won t happen but I give niki p a wild card I think they dropped him too early from the gps . He would liven it up a bit and could nt be as poor as kk and Bernstein have been
lbw 869 Posted September 13, 2021 (edited) Lambert would be a good call for a wildcard but if he doesn't get picked for the SON and Bewley does this could change things regarding a British permanent wildcard pick. The organisers may completely over look choosing another Brit if they see that Lambert isn't good enough to be picked for the SON. All about being in the shop window. Depends also I guess when the wildcards are announced. Think I've confused myself Edited September 13, 2021 by PirateShip

Traditionally the current British Champion gets the Cardiff wild card. I wouldn’t like to see anything change that. It’s a one off meeting. The British champ rides in Britain, that’s why he in the British championship, British fans get to see him. Dan will have to qualify another way for the GPs….. Euro Champ, GPChallenge or get a permanent pick.

OveFundinFan 4,143 Posted September 13, 2021 Too soon for Bewley, no matter what they do with Lambert. If the selectors picked. Bewley for next year, and he flops, then he will be out in 2023 (unless he earns it Euro champ/GP challenge). If he misses 2022 (like I think he should) then he just might be right for 2023, depending how he develops.

He's been in the GPs and top ten in Polish averages, i think he's already in the shop window. Would be amazed if he misses out. SON pick must be 50/50 though. SPEEDY69 1,260 Posted September 13, 2021 Commercial reasons will dictate as usual but I disagree about Vaculik. He's finished 5th once but the other three years his highest has been 9th and this year he was pretty mediocre. I'd go with someone else and I fully applaud sharing the chances around - as with financial services/shares, past performance is no guarantee of future performance

Dan finished ahead of Robert in both the SEC series and the GP challenge this year, so I'm not sure if it's fair to say he is well behind, unless you just mean in terms of GP experience.
