It`s not total madness if you are Poland paying big bucks expecting the riders to perform and not be exhausted by riding every night all over Europe. Sweden and Denmark both run squads so it should be possible to come up with riding number of nights per week instead of number of other league`s.

Do you mean the ones that say you ride where you get paid the most?

So 2 leagues, GP's, SEC, Longtrack, SoN, SGP Qualifiers, SEC Qualifiers, open meetings is OK but not 3 leagues? 4 minutes ago, Skidder1 said: What European laws? The restriction of trade law... i.e. Bosman You ask any rider why they haven`t challenged it and they would tell you- " we can`t afford to risk losing Poland" As for the GP`s it`s only Fricke as all the others are Extraleague +

arnieg 3,644 Posted July 4, 2022 There plenty of industries where it is common to place restrictions of self-employed sub-contractors. I don't think Bosman would help any rider seeking to challenge the Polish rules.

Either way it wouldn't stop you starting a union/ riders association

TTT 1,229 Posted July 4, 2022 Why are KL allowed to run R/R for a rider that no longer rides for them?

They are contracted workers, which is different. If you are self employed you can choose to work or not to work as you see fit so I think is why 'Bosman' could not be applied here and if they sign a contract under those terms they have to stick to it or withdraw from it and face the consequences. They are definitely self employed. (I'm an a accountant specialising in tax) and I know people who sort out speedway riders tax affairs.
