BERWICK v EDINBURGH (Jubilee League) + BULLETS v LEICESTER (NDL) 6.30pm - double-header - SATURDAY, JULY 23rs

Recommended Posts

Another thirty-race extravaganza at Shielfield this Saturday.   Both Bandits and Edinburgh will track teams affected by the Euro-pairs round at Macon in France.

Charles Wright (in fine form for Redcar last week) steps in for Chris Harris, while Monarchs are in no way weakened by Complin and Andersen replacing their two Euro-hopefuls.

Tapes-up at 6.30, and with the annual circus in town, part of the (free) Shielfield car-park will be unavailable, so prompt arrival will mean not missing any of the action.

Admission (30 heat double-header) Adults £24, Concessions/OAP/Students £20, Accompanied Juniors (12-15 years) £6 (free if booked online) Accompanied Children (Under 12) £1 (free if booked online).

FTS Bandits:  1 Charles Wright (guest), 2 Theo Pijper, 3 Jye Etheridge, 4 Ricky Wells, 5 Leon Flint (captain), 6 Jonas Knudsen, 7 Nathan Stoneman

WTF Monarchs: 1 Sam Masters (captain), 2 Lee Complin (guest), 3 Kye Thomson, 4 Kasper Andersen (guest), 5 Josh Pickering, 6 Jacob Hook, 7 James Sarjeant

(NDL teams for second match detailed in separate thread)

Probably be closer now result-wise than the League Meeting was. If Kasper rides like last week he will definitely score more than the Italian Stallion, and depending on track preparation Complin could bag a few points. Berwick to finally win a home meeting 49-41

Where is Bomber this weekend?

Seems a really strange idea to sign one of the most entertaining rides in the sport in the UK, and then run meetings without him...

Given his LT commitments, and individual Speedway ambitions on the european and world stage,  is a weekend track the best place for him and the sport in general?

Bomber getting replaced by other teams' best riders does nothing for the sports reputation and of course he ends up missing meetings and another pay cheque..

(No wonder he guests so much)..:D

Yes riding with Adam Ellis and Tom Brennan as far as I know, the meeting is a semi final with the Final in Slangerup on August 27th, another Saturday night where Berwick are due to be at home to Scunthorpe which could mean another Harrisless Berwick team.

Shouldn't it be the annual Funfair in town.

The circus takes place inside the stadium.

Many a true word spoken in jest.
