JanAndersen 835 Posted September 23, 2022 Not even a contest sadly. The score flatters Edinburgh if anything.

Not a flattering scoreline, Masters and Pickering getting beaten so many times is unusual at Armadale, not the best time for them to have off nights, possibly Poole giving Leicester a mauling may not have helped Edinburgh, it seemed to get Leicester fired up. Not really that committed then, not a great example to set the riders... wasn't he playing golf for the Plymouth match?

I suspect the weekend family business is a more sustainable way of paying his bills. Think they said he was on holiday for the Plymouth match. Fair play - nothing wrong with not constantly bending over backwards at the expense of your family.

xvcjk 79 Posted September 23, 2022 A major disappointment tonight, we just didn’t look up for it. Credit to Leicester, they made the gates and rode well. It was always going to be a tough ask but the team look deflated when Sam isn’t on form. Picko the only Monarch there tonight who looked up for it.
JanAndersen 835 Posted September 23, 2022 It’s very easy for me to say standing watching it and not on the bike but a lot of our boys don’t seem to be aggressive enough. Pickering (to en extreme) is obviously and Sam knows what he’s doing but the others are too timid a lot of the time. Leave too much space, don’t go on hard on opposition going into bends etc.

Agree,Pickering had to bust a gut to pass him or he would have had a paid Maximum, can’t think of a second string rider ever doing that at Armadale.(Could be wrong though). Teromaafan 593 Posted September 23, 2022 Speedway results (but not score margins) are usually fairly predictable, but not always, as this week has shown with the Lions. Admittedly Poole are a stronger team than the Monarchs, but nobody could ever have seen this coming tonight. Dickson’s motivational talk combined with a size 10 steel toe cap boot seems to have worked, although young Joe remains a worry away from BP. Tomorrow’s meeting is now of zero interest and many Lions fans will no doubt not bother attending. As a speedway supporter, I find it quite sad that tonight was the last time Monarchs fans would see their team until who knows when (hopefully not too long) and they have belly flopped. Any Monarchs fan attending Leicester tomorrow should be admitted free and given a voucher for a free beer.
