Polish Extraleague round 3 Sunday 28th April Live on TV

Recommended Posts

Excuse me being naive and all that, but I'm curious and concerned about the statements which say that Tai Woffinden was "forced" to ride for Wroclaw yesterday. How can a rider be "forced"? Couldn't Woffinden have simply obtained the necessary medical certification which would presumably have voided insurance. Otherwise, it sounds like Polish speedway is more akin to Rollerball, as portrayed in the film of that name starring James Caan

Apart from the Credibility and Integrity of the Competition, which maintains the media coverage, huge sponsorship, and large fanbase, I cant think of any reasons why they dont use guests...:D

Krysztof Harriski maybe could have rode for Wroclaw....:D

Credibility with a lucky loser lol .Integrity. forcing a unfit rider to ride.lol ..try again . You try  to big up that the second leg was going to close without guests  and you fell flat on your face as  the final turn into a complete joke. .

:D

I was amazed that they got so close in the first one..;)

But at least it keeps gravitas and kudos (and probably most importantly), big financial rewards in winning that competition

Which is what all "proper" sporting comps should have...

Lose that and the media goes...

Then the sponsors...

Then the fans...

And any sporting contest can be one sided at any time, as that is just the nature of sport..

UK Speedway wont change though as the riders need the money, and the promoters cannot pay them enough to be "exclusive" to them individually...

A shame, but that is simply how it is..

Looking forward to a good meeting tonight at the NSS, always great to see Emil and Doyle there...

And on the subject of Polish speedway's credibility

Could Artem and Tai really be that foolish?

We await developments ...

Should be given a free pass.

Wroclaw bosses should have the book thrown at them though because Speedway is a dangerous enough sport without higher ups forcing unfit riders to race a motorbike with no breaks.

They get gaps between races surely?

Plenty of time for a brew...:D

Wroclaw probably told him that if he doesn't ride, he won't be riding for the club next year.

Laguta chose to ride as he wanted to repay the club's support. Wroclaw supported him a lot through the whole Polish/Russian citizenship process.

PZM have said that, as neither Artem nor Tai were tested before during or after the meeting, there is now nothing for POLADA to find. Wrocław have clarified the treatments received as being anaesthetics rather than banned pain killers.
So the much avowed integrity of Polish speedway is maintained.

Nicki Pedersen leaves Grudziadz.

Is he riding again next year or will that be it?

Possibly in Lg. 1, seems he is/was in discussions with a couple of clubs. Ditched by his Danish club after 21 years too, the end can't be far.
