Hate to piss on the parade but getting a visa could take upto 6-8 weeks. It did for Zagar so imagine what it’s going to be like for Emil

Does Emil own a small inflatable boat?

Danyon Hume has been hanging on for his team place for months. Why wasn’t he announced today as well as Emil? Makes you wonder actually.

Probably didn't want the announcement of Danyon to overshadow the signing of Emil?

It might aid his case if he said publicly that he didn't agree with the invasion.

Don't want him falling to his death out of a bungalow window!

Just looking in from the outside it seems Ipswich want Emil but surely Artum Laguta is a better rider.

From a Rye House opinion

Well from an Arena Essex perspective - it’s all good - now shall we ask for a Hackney Wimbledon perspective

And do people really think that Louis has waited virtually all the close season and announced it now without having all the required visa/permit/approvals in place?

Yes one would think all the delays are due to that

Russian-born ? He is Russian through and through. The Polish passport he was granted has been used for travelling around European Union with no visas, etc., He never wanted to compete as a Pole, but now uses the Polish passport as a tool for signing for British club. He never renounced his Russian passport and citizenship. So it's not fair to call him Russian-born.

Mind you don't drown in Ukrainian blood!  Don't come crying to me when the Russians have destroyed your house and your  door slams into your arse. Believe me I want to conquer the world. Put the TV on and open your eyes!

...On paper a great addition. The timing tho…

'I don't know what the English wanted to prove. Probably their own stupidity and ignorance. Or maybe they wanted to "celebrate" the anniversary of Russia's attack on Ukraine in this way? It's outrageous. They don't have an ounce of decency - said the former Polish international, Jan Krzystyniak. Sayfutdinov is not a Pole and I will repeat it all the time. He was, is and will be a Russian for me and no passport will change that. The mere fact of allowing him to compete is outrageous, because as long as the war lasts, Russian athletes should be excluded from all competitions. And what the English have done is the height of rudeness. After all, they could have announced this contract a few days earlier, or a few days later, if only out of respect for all the victims of this war. For me, they are either ignorant people who do not know what is happening in Europe, or egoists who do not care about human suffering and do not look further than the tip of their own noses, concluded Krzystyniak.

As I said earlier this will be cock up rather than conspiracy - in other words just bad timing

given how much support the U.K. is given Ukraine do you really think we have nefarious intentions here

Congratulations to Ipswich on the signing of Emil.

Not only is this a feather in the cap for Ipswich, but British Speedway in general.

One thing that Ipswich has to be favourites for is the Pairs that they look as though they can retain the title.

It was probably only made today thanks to the Polish media making it known and no malice was intended in announcing it on the anniversary of the incursion but that said it all started some time before with Crimea.  It is a good signing for U.K. speedway but we are an island with an awful lot of small minded individuals who look for a cause to rise up against whatever, irrespective of the facts. Most clubs will see some benefit and hopefully add to punters to the throughput on the gate. Woe betide the authorities if they veto the signing.  It will certainly be an interesting season and Chris deserves some support for having the vision to go beyond the run of mill signings and shake up the sport with an out and out rider whose has an appetite to chase the glory. Hopefully speedway U.K. will benefit from this move.

Let's hope this attracts 100's of protesters at very track he races at...

Just as long as they have paid to get in...;):D

If it was Hawkins idea to get the Emil signing "out there" then you will understand the timing issue if you ever get the opportunity to meet him or see him interviewed on television

This is bang on. Someone made reference to a visa taking 8 weeks - I don’t think the visa process only just began yesterday somehow
