31 out of 49 unchanged.

But 5 of 7 rising stars have changed.

3 clubs have made 3 changes, one injury RS switch for BV and Riss out then back in for Ipswich. They changed the twins over as well, then Wolves haven't made any.

That leaves:

Kings Lynn - 6 outgoing in KK, Laguta, Edwards, Jakobsen, Thompson and Pickering.

Leicester - 5 outgoings with Cook, Dan T, Harris, Batch and Morris.

Peterborough - 4 outgoings, Pedersen, Wojdylo Andersen, Worrall

Sheffield - 5 outgoings, Holder, Kerr, Ellis, Bellego, Giles.

That's 20 changes with only 3/4 due to injures?  Gilkes, Holder, Pedersen and Pickering.

I think you'd have to say that after the net effect of those changes Leicester's have probably worked out the worst. Taken us from 2nd in the league to scrapping around for 4th and an immediate pay off elimination

Agreed, and more frustrating I'd imagine that the majority of those changes were driven by one riders actions.

The knee jerk reaction of replacing Morris with Batch when there were (from the signings that have come later) better options out there has cost them big time.

Even with the poor start from Laguta last night, Peterborough seem to have somehow come out of it all looking the better of those 4 sides.

Sheffield have big hitters but a very long tail now and Kings Lynn still have a few injured or carrying injuries.

You need to realise that because the Lions had done so well by the time the Morris situation occurred the points available for a replacement was very low and Batchelor was one of a very short list who would fit. No question that his signing didn't help matters at all, but to replace him there was a need to ship out two riders and bring two more in and one of those (Cook) proved ineffective.

Meanwhile & by comparison  Peterborough & Kings Lynn, having had a terrible start to the season had room, average wise, to bring in new riders who could improve the team.

Sheffield lost a top scorer and used the points available via new signings & releasing low performers to create their new look team.

Bottom line is that  options available to the Stars, Panthers & Tigers have not been available to the Lions.

Who were these better options you talk of?

Well batch came in on 4.99, if there were the full 5 available then there's plenty of evidence that there were Danes, Poles and Russians available at that mark.

I get that they had done well, but well enough to have carried RR until the next set came out to properly reassess options, that's where the knee jerk comment came from.

But all that matters little as the 'for sale' must have been on the cards before the Morris issue as there has been chance to improve since and the changes have been as cost effective as they could make them. Shame as they really did start off well...Sedgman's form is the biggest concern since Morris was banned

Perhaps “lack of visa” issue more accurate?

When Lions don't make the pay offs, I wonder whether we'll see a Jubilee Trophy Final :D

We might even get Glasgow back on board for the originally promised three way final.

Then again, pigs might fly.

Assuming there are still multiple leagues next year, I wonder if Leicester will be seeking a move back into the CL? Part of the reasoning in moving up was the local derby aspect, Peterborough & Wolverhampton will be gone and there'll also be new owners in place

I think we would move back down. Don't think Thursdays are bad but there were more negatives to moving up rather than staying in the championship IMO. Let's see if there is a person that will take it on first as its gone rather quiet.
