the advantage would be if no teams drop six points behind.

meaning the reserve is the only tactical choice.

I think so as it says 7 pm on Speedway Updates and the coverage on Discovery+ doesn't start until 6.30 pm.

Can a reserve not replace another rider even if not 6 behind? If so, Bewley can take 6 rides regardless, surely making GB better off.

How many more times am i going to say.

ALL 5 RIDERS CAN HAVE 5 RIDES PLUS 1 RIDE AS A TAC SUB

We have 6 gates 1 or 2 in the first 8 races.  This is usually when they are at their most advantageous before an outside line starts to work. Hope the TMs are man enough

to use Bewley.  If we aren't in the lead after heat 8 with that advantage then the games up anyway. :)

No advantage there either.

If you don't drop 6 behind (as you wouldn't want to) then you don't get tac rides, and you'd want Bewley, Lambert and Woffinden to be taking all their 5 rides, and it's just a case of how to split the other 5 rides between Brennan and Ellis.

That is the obvious weakness.

Yep that's exactly what I'm saying.  Hope Ellis and Brennan do well, but realisticly they're out of their depth.  Don't waste the best gates on them. Sometimes you have to be harsh. It's not a time for sentiment.

Thank god you're not the team manager!

You're really suggesting that you want to make races easier for Bewley (one of the top riders in the world who should be scoring from any gate) but want to make it as difficult as possible for Brennan/Ellis (who would benefit from any help they can get).

Brennan & Ellis who are unlikely to score anyway

I would be very shocked if Brennan failed to score tonight...

I feel sorry for Adam and Tom. The two riders in the team who are not GP or even extraleague riders, on a track they’ve only ridden once, with different engines / mechanics… and taken out of what should be “easier” heats.

obviously I hope they score and score well but can’t help thinking they’re being set up to fail .

if you thought the vitriol on here was bad before now, just wait till afterwards.

Being "set up to fail"? What an extraordinary statement! The SWC is a team event, which each country putting in a team of their best riders.

I would consider that Brennan is one of our top four riders, and Ellis is "among" or better riders. They are there because there is nobody CLEARLY better (Ellis is questionable, I agree), so how are they being "set up to fail"?
