The lunacy of then scheduling the corresponding League matches so early in the cycle compounds the issue. Why not have corresponding League fixtures in late July or August. I'm told the Promoters used to sit down in Rugby and plan Fixtures on a day but since Covid it's now done by John Campbell. Poor bloke, can't be easy or a job anyone would want. Surely if they have a Spring Cup insist last 2 league fixtures are v teams you face in that Group and make KOCup an open fair draw. The knockout Cup was drawn and Plymouth against Poole was the outcome.
Skidder1 7,637 Posted June 4, 2023 All clubs are given the opportunity to agree or otherwise a draft fixture list so as to avoid known clashes when riders may be missing abroad or lack of stadium availabilitty etc! This season Promoters decided to get the KO Cup and BSN Series fixtures over with by end June/mid July (subject to rain-offs) so that the later months could solely concentrate on League fixtures and play-offs. Tosh1218 593 Posted June 4, 2023 I’m sure all promoters have to agree on the draft fixtures before they are made public

Same issues with Oxford apart from they did put the league one in the Summer hols for that one. Who is this person please? Pasted from my previous post, still no name/s as to who is responsible! So is it John Campbell?

Teams have an input from day one and then a draft is circulated for consideration. Poole/Plymouth are suffering the same fate as Edinburgh/Glasgow have done over the years except the latter used to be worse with the Spring Trophy and the Scottish Cup (neither of which seem to be raced for these days). But, just imagine what it would have been like with two home and away. (Unless Poole and Plymouth meet in the play offs of course!)
