Poole v Glasgow Championship Final 2nd Leg 11/10/23

Recommended Posts

So Glasgow come down to Wimborne Road with a huge 14 point lead. Pirates fans can almost give out a sigh of relief that it’s not 22-24 points, as it was looking to be heading that way after heat 8. But like the champions they are, Poole rallied well and actually won the second half of the meeting by a couple of points.

But make no mistake, 14 points is a huge lead and defendable. If Pirates don’t start on the front foot it could all be over by heat 11. But there is a chance. Glasgow are clear favourites and who can stop Bomber in the form he showed tonight? He rides Poole well and if he is backed up by Tarasenko and Basso it will be enough. We need all the boys to be on their best form straight from heat 1, like Glasgow were tonight.

Can Pirates pull off Mission Impossible: Back From The Dead?

Did you write for the Daily Sport in a previous life? It's about as believable :D

Don’t you just love a Shovlar introduction all that’s missing is the musical sound effects with a big bass drum slowly building to a crescendo.

Also what has a Tom Cruise film got to do with Speedway.

I would've opted for "one flew over the cuckoo's nest"

Time for your meds Dr Shovlar

The weather maybe the winner wednesday.

Met office showing 20% chance of rain up to 9 then 80%. 10 heats sounds like a great idea, might give us a chance of defending 14!!

I dont think they would allow that if it doesnt rain until 9 every chance for the meeting to get to heat 15

Draw out the meeting. R/R or reserve switched giving 2 on the trot etc. All seen it done before

Bad sportsmanship hey. Getting as bad as the Aussie cricket team lol. If Glasgow win cos they are the better team then fair enough but delaying it so we don't get the opportunity to race the same amount is pretty poor tbf.

Looks dry on Thursday so could just delay it for 24 hours. Tough call but sure that promoters get a more detailed and accurate forecast than we do.

Being serious, I don't think playoff matches should be allowed to finish with less than 15 heats.

Any doubt the Poole promotion have an early call off would be the way to go.
