Edinburgh vs Glasgow 5/4/24

Recommended Posts

So the champions elect start their campaign with a tough opening fixture against last year’s fortunate league winners. Looking forward to speedway getting going again at the home of Scottish Speedway although unfortunately I’ll need to take this one in via stream. Let’s hope for some sun.

Edinburgh Monarchs: Pickering, Fredriksen, Thomson, Castanga, Sedgmen, Coles, James

Possilpark Tigers: Harris, Pearson, Flint, Starke, Worrall, Complin, Pijper

Can see Glasgow winning this one. Think Monarchs will struggle at reserve.

Weather to win this one, bends 3/4, 3 being the worst was extremely soft on Saturday that the boys haven’t been able to practice.

with more rain falling since then and to continue to fall until Friday really don’t see this going ahead.

Agreed. Forecast for Friday is awful.

Rearranged fixture when?

May 31 is the first time both teams have a blank Friday on the same night.  Glasgow currently show that as reserved for KO CUP semi while May 17 is shown as reserved for BSN semi. Anyone know the opposite of a rain dance?!

Would agree the forecasts suggest the weather is to get worse and if todays weather is anything to go by no chance for Friday.

Was working on the outskirts of Edinburgh & it was non-stop rain all day. I know Armadale is a wee bit away, but can see Friday being cancelled.

Looking at my weather app , it's showing 94% chance of rain on Friday for Armadale

Let's hope (IF it's off), it's postponed, rather than cancelled......

So the reigning Champions from the 2023 season are set to take on the Champions from 9 seasons ago, the last time they won a team trophy, and it looks like they are bottling it already playing the "track is too wet card"
