Oxford are the stronger top 3, what progress Flint, Thompson and Kileen do or don't make will determine who is the stronger top 4. The big question is what back up can these clubs give their top 4? Big pressure on the top 4 to deliver heat wins unless they can find a bottom 3 to punch above their weight. Both could lose a lot of 5-1s in heats 2 and 8, putting pressure on their 3 and 4 pairing to deliver heat advantages to get them in position to win in heats 13 and 15. I suspect that both are too top heavy to win the playoffs.

It's not easy to judge Riss as he's had a few illness effected seasons, but given his previous scores for Oxford, seems a worthwhile pick as a second string on his reduced converted average. It's also less risky being signed by a Prem club than a Champ club (same scenario as Craig Cook) as its easier to find a spare second string for the Prem, than a heat leader for the Champ. -

010.2.3 Amended MA’s With the approval of the BSP LTD GC or Directors for: - a) riders who have been absent from British Speedway racing for more than 3 seasons (the table in 10.2.2 will be used as a reference, the MA may be increased or decreased) Kim has been away for more than 3 seasons. The BSP Ltd will use table 10.2.2 for reference. Kim’s average may be increased. Nothing needs rewriting or if it does, please advise. I’d be more than happy for Ipswich to included 37 year old (at the start of the season) Kim in their squad.

I don't like the rule as it benefits riders who "abandon" British Speedway rather than the ones who race every season. I could understand increasing an average as a rider may have improved, but wouldn't lower aves.
