This rule has affected, is affecting, us. However whilst I totally agree it's an awful rule, I get why it's in place. Imagine "cough" cough" certain promoters bringing in ringers in the latter stages of the season to win the league for them. As usual the many are hampered by the "dodgy" few, who spoil it for everyone.7 points

Awesome performance by the Stars. The form team going into the play offs and fingers crossed they can bring home their first top league title!5 points

It's about time the BSPA told riders to make up their mind where their priorities lye, then sort out our leagues with what's left. Its the only way forward as even our young talent will be enticed abroad much quicker in their career.3 points

Surely if your full team is available thats what it should be .We are always moaning about rider shortage and in this case not necessary2 points

The Somerset team manager admitted to doctoring the track on TV Shame as it spoilt the entertainment value of the meeting.2 points

To be fair (and I am not sticking up for the BSPA) I dare say it’s been written like that because teams in the past have brought in ringers for the play offs and cup finals.2 points

Can't see Belle Vue winning now with Dan Bewley out , Kings Lynn have a chance but the favourites are Somerset in my view. I would imagine if Kings Lynn are top the would choose Belle Vue and if Somerset are top they would choose Poole.2 points

Thanks Bald bloke..... I'm just hoping that Brundle doesn't post that its defo on.... Then I will know not to travel2 points

It seems strange that a club cannot replace a rider with season ending injuries after the cut off date. Some common sense would surely be in order in these circumstances...2 points

On another thread another poster has just described the bloke from Monster as 'an absolute penis of a man'. I am unsure whether this is more perception than fact. But it does seem a reasonable conclusion from the evidence.2 points

Despite his big upturn in form I think Callum Walker could be victim of this, with him effectively being rested so a guest can be used for Danyon. That gives you back 4 heat leaders and walker rr = 1 heat leader and 3 reserve rides. Which is far stronger then 3 heat leaders and, Hume rr = flint, walker plus 2 reserve rides.2 points

I thought neil been doing the track in recent weeks been on holiday ?2 points

VOR does not help his case when criticising JC for things over which he has no control (i.e. stadium seating) - his general bitterness, coupled with a total inability 'to let it go' tend only to make him a laughing stock amongst the more rational forum members.2 points

Riss is a major boost for Kings Lynn and Simon Lambert is pretty good at home shame for Garrity but Riss is far better.2 points

Poole were woeful. As for lowering their averages this result would hardly put a dent into their current averages anyway,so it wasn't that. They were simply beaten by the better team on the night. They really didn't like a grippy track early doors, got better when it slickened off a bit. S.Lambert said in the meeting in the bar afterwards that it was the grippiest track he's rode for a few years and wished more tracks were like it. Poole nearly had their play-off chances ruined when Kurtz lost control and nearly wiped out Josh.G on the back straight, luckily they missed each other by no more than a couple of inches and an accident was avoided. Remember that, that was Shovlar again, but do we expect anything else from him.1 point

Gaters track. Kings Lynn have mullered us out of the starts. Read updates. First 8 heats were virtually all reading Lynn gate, Lynn gate, Lynn gate again etc.1 point

You're right and I've pointed this out a couple of times in previous threads: the original dimensions of the speedway track at BP were in almost exactly the same proportions (width of centre green to the distance between the apexes of the corners) as those of the cycle track at Slater Street. A bizarre coincidence?1 point

You're making things up, as usual. Racers and Royals has quote the rule correctly.1 point

That hole on first bend is disgusting. It's not even a rut. It's a fricken massive pot hole. Doyle nearly went missing in heat. No way that just appeared in heat 15.1 point

See your point but is changing Vaculik or Pedersen, proven to reach and win a final, for Lambert or another Pole a benefit. I'd argue not. We've done this to death now so maybe we should see what happens in October. All the best.1 point

Actually I dont see an awful lot wrong with the set up we have currently. If only it operated with a little more sporting integrity. Top 8 being needed to ensure qualification and those below that have to sweat it out for a wild card pick (or have put themselves through the qulifiers as a safety net). Top 3 from the Challenge and 4 honestly chosen wildcards is also fine. The two real flaws I can see are 1) The strange way in which the qualifers were done and dusted so early in the season this year. It has totally spolied the drama and means that some riders know that they are in for next year when this years series was only at the half way point. Daft. 2) The independent nature of the 'picks' is just bogus. Despite what some here will claim. The picking of Holder last October was a sporting disgrace. Thankfully he has not helped to hide the blushes of those who picked him with a rush of 'form' and he should be gone by the year end. Sadly reputations have been tarnished irrevocably.1 point

It's ok for teams to amend rules on race nights so hopefully belle vue can bend a rule and get bjerre in for bewley. Keep us as underdogs. Everyone loves an underdog1 point

Don't think any Lynn fans are underestimating Somerset whatsoever. If you read it properly most Lynn fans apart from Danny Smith would prefer to ride Belle Vue if they make it and if Lynn got the choice in the semi final. The reason being Lynn don't do so well against Poole. This would leave Poole v Somerset in the other semi, the only team that could beat Poole over 2 legs. Now we are not underestimating Somerset at all it's just that we feel we would have a better chance if we were to face Somerset in the final rather than Poole. I tried to make it a bit clearer for you, maybe we put things differently up here to you lot from down South1 point

Not a pop at your post at all, the best compromise would have been for clubs to try and accept rearranged dates and not decline because their injured number 1 wouldn't be back or can't visit you then because we are due at xxx the next day and the latter was from a club that had less than 100 miles to travel from one club to the next. How many times have Glasgow, Edinburgh, Berwick, Somerset and Plymouth travelled the length of the country on back to back fixtures. The spirit of I'm all right jack is alive and well in the BSPA!1 point

Despite your snide snitching, the ref obviously gave it the thumbs up as being fit for purpose. Since you were last there they could of course remedied the issues you mention. Your issues of course are still with you.1 point

With Newcastle still to visit in league and cup, might be a good idea to run that as a double header, should be an easy 3 points and next round of the cup. And only 1 travel.1 point

now i know you dont have a repuation for being the sharpest tool in the shed but i think if look, the time the decison was made Steve Worrall was declared fit interesting you dont mention the two fixtures home fixtures that you pulled on a Saturday earlier in the season? and who was it who had to take an NL guest to Glasgow one a Friday because you couldnt get a guest? and its also interesting looking back to last year who were we waiting for to complete meetings again? on yes,it was Workington was it 5 or 6 you had to run last September? obviously just adding Balance to the argument1 point
