  1. Perhaps it was the same person but using different names - Im sure you would understand that situation

  2. I’m sure Cook it whoever else would have had the good sense to apologise the next morning and not force the club to sack them.

  3. Whether ESP was required or not EVERYONE (including Joe) knew Kyle would end up at Glasgow sooner rather than later. The alleged misdemeanour(s) from Joe have only accelerated that process. Anyway good luck to Glasgow and the Comet exiles for the season, and in fact to all speedway fans who still have a team to support. Enjoy it while you can. A jealous Comet fan.

  4. A relative new Co Promoter at Newcastle, maybe he has a stronger influence over team matters.

  5. If you or I were the team manager or promoter and though you could make your team stronger pretty sure you would do the same before some other team does just a shame its before the season starts but with worky not running there was always going to be some changes when these riders became available think it might be 2 Aussies coming in

  6. Hardly a sniche ,I’m sure the Hotel manager would gave Faceena a “wee call” later.

  7. Pretty sure when you set a smoke alarm off in a state of the art hotel it can be pin pointed to the excact room where it happens and when the other rider in the room doesn't smoke pretty sure they can work it out without Sherlock Holmes

  8. Hello George obviously missed me I know you have a soft spot for me. Anyway silly boy ruining his chances by being a dafty by the sounds of it. As others have said if it was cook for example would he have been dropped probably not. Doing what he done gave them a perfect opportunity to get Bickley in now rather than say 1/2 months down the line.

  9. On paper it is a very poor team for me. But as we all k ow. Things ain't won on paper and this team very nearly won it all last year. So dont right them off just yet.

  12. Personally I've never bought speedway clothing. Attending the sport is something I'd rather not advertise!

  13. Surprised at today’s events as after following Newcastle for 40 years I have always found them to be a fair club and they have always had good reason for getting rid of riders... I think there could be more to this story so I am waiting for an official announcement from the club before saying what I think

  15. Sadly ~ No, but perhaps it would have all been different if what happened in the Winter of 2010/11 could have been avoided.

  16. Every track is inspected on a three yearly cycle and a new homologation certificate issued. The APD (referred to by some as the air fence) is looked at as part of that process but is formally inspected after six years. Depending on how the panels are stored, some APDs can still be fit for purpose after more than 10 years, others are fit for nothing after 6 or 7. What tends to happen though, is that bags are repaired or replaced on a regular basis so an APD can last a very long time. FIM rules are different. No bags more than 7 years old are permitted.

  19. Not quite sure that`s the question being asked, in the article in this weeks Speedway Star Peter Faceena is quoted as saying "I was awoken at 00:37 by a call from one of our riders" that Joe Lawlor had set off the fire alarms and had been arguing with the hotel staff. So the question is who`s the sniche.

  21. Nothing on here about the Tai and Nigel night at The Black & Gold. Just had someone in shop saying they had a fantastic night, followed by another who said the same. Couldn't go myself, but a real well done to Berwick Bandits Supporters Clubfor organising another very good event.

  22. Too right mate. Have not been up loomer road over the winter but any parking restriction should not bother the speedway fans but could be a problem for the stox fans as I am told they get bumper crowds for these events. Cant wait for the season to kick in now and see this new team in action. Up the potters.

  26. Statistically the Championship section of the BSF must have the most per head of people with ESP , after all they can all predict what would have happened had it been Cook and not Lawlor. Thing is they know the same as everyone else on here jacksh*t.

  28. To be fair they have made these dark winter evenings very amusing with there pathetic rambling's , who knows what goes through there heads. It is sad what has happened to Workington Speedway but the crap posted on here I couldn't care less about there fan's, not all as there are a few who are reasoned but some on here are a bit like the Scottish press , hate filled, obsessive agenda driven mentalists. They lay the blame at all and sundry look at the crap Scunthorpe fan's took of them last season and we still don't know the full story but they made there own assumptions.

  31. There is no reliance on or expectancy of paying spectators. We run on sponsorship and fundraising. However this season will stretch us to the limit. Unfortunately this is the only way Eastbourne would allow us to continue using Arlington.

  34. Thought I would come on here after a while as it is a slow Friday. Seems the same village idiots from Cumbria had a rush of blood to criticise Glasgow (again) with unfounded sweeping statements. Lots of mud slinging, then when the truth comes out, you would expect the decency of an apology. Alas, this is not the case, the haters (generally Worky fans) decide to find another angle to slaughter. The "what if" brigade, What if you never had a successful team last year? Your wage bill would of been down and maybe ran this year? The talk of boycotting Glasgow by one member was particularly laughable. If/when Worky come back to the sport, would you like the sizeable Glasgow support to boycott your stadium. absolute bonkers. Absolute nut jobs.

  41. While I agree with that bit (it is the nature of uk speedway and fans expect most competitive teams possible) I really don’t think the sacking by text side should be overlooked. Thats despicable. Although among some of today’s promotions it doesn’t surprise me, I did not have Newcastle down as one who would behave in that way. Common decency requires at least a phone call. Sadly decency and speedway don’t seem to go hand in hand too often these days. surprised and disappointed at how it’s been done, not that it has been done (it’s a results driven employment after all)
