I`m sure everyone watching on BT sport enjoyed that, and they better make the most of it as the next TV match in a fortnight`s time is from Poole !!!!!!!5 points

I watched Peter Collins, Chris Morton etc riding for Belle Vue in the 70s and 80s. I also attended Ellesmere Port during the same period. Despite being a lower standard, I never yearned to see the superstars when I watched the second division lads. I just loved speedway.5 points

Oh for crying out loud....at least a couple of people realised what was intended. I was on my phone at the time and it wouldn't let me put a smiley/emoji (or whatever they're called). It was a sarcastic/ironic/sardonic/satirical/derisive comment that was in no way meant to be taken seriously. In other words, a joke. Has everyone got that? I was not being serious. OK?4 points

So if your half a bike length up you can basically just shove the other rider into the fence because ' you are in front' Max Fricke is by no means a dirty rider but that move wasnt good .....the commentary team pretty much said the same He was half a bike length up and left Harris no room at all. Its not up to Harris to throttle off if he is only half a bike length down, he should have been able to ride up to the next corner in that straight line. I also cant understand how the race wasnt awarded either Could have cost us a point maybe Its all well and good saying that Bewley had a poor night and so did Wells , but on the plus side Worrall rode and scored really well. Also Ipswich reserves had a poor meeting to. Its all if buts and maybes. All i know is that if we can keep this up then i dont fear anyone over 2 legs3 points

Wonder how many people in Manchester even know about speedway at the NSS?3 points

Great debut from Cook. He will turn out to be a terrific signing for sure. Good team performance tonight. Heat 13 and 15 were great but without being negative those heats were the exception. From memory 11 heats were FTG without passes. Stop grading the track every 3-4 heats which basically means there's only one line around the inside.3 points

So if rider A crosses the finish line half a bikes length in front of rider B he was not in front at the time they crossed the line.2 points

Speedway gets many, many hours of advertising out of the BT deal.. That they choose not to highlight themselves as a 'popular place to visit' isn't BT's fault... Last night they should have ran with cheap tickets, filled the Grandstand, and had huge banners advertising various sponsors and the club website, twitter, fb page etc covering the empty back straight.. Or at the very least move all the Grandstand people together and covered the vacant seating with advertising banners like champions league football does with the first few rows.. When the SWC was at BV a few years ago we got 'upgraded' free of charge to the seating erected on bends three/four Why? Because this was the area that was going to get most covered on TV as it was directly in line with the camera covering the starts.. Unpurchased, empty seating would have made the event look 'unpopular'.. So much of advertising and marketing is about hype.. If it looks successful many 'sheep' will follow it and grow it's success.. And vice versa, the same is also true.. It it looks unpopular, it will stay unpopular unless something changes.. And 'build it and they will come' simply doesn't cut it anymore... The Aces have a huge asset in that circuit. They now need to get a marketing plan that actually does it justice..2 points

Agreed on Allerdale's ambition and i too want the stadium to go ahead. I'm not bleating about the shale or the boards per se, its the bigger picture of track demolition including the attempted break up of the slag sub base. Surely for this to happen someone somewhere must have decreed that speedway will never again take place at Derwent Park. I'm appealing for some openness and honesty from an official source about what the bigger picture is and where the Comets now fit into that.2 points

Fricke hadn’t passed Harris though. Passing is when Fricke back wheel is in front of Harris front wheel. But Fricke’s footrest (middle of his bike) went through the spokes of Harris front wheel. Fricke basically hoped Harris would back off but he didn’t. Fricke to blame and rightly excluded.2 points

It will be close, but then the tapes will go up for heat 1 and the gap will increase gradually. Will Tungate even be there you wont know until you get there . Bates at three oh dear.2 points

R/R for Hans means an easy home win. A decent guest might have got me out, but no chance now ...2 points

Harris had the option of throttling off, he didn't and the correct decision was made.2 points

We were a Craig Cook away from winning that,, if only he was available not so long ago. Good effort though,, heat 13 was always going to be the killer,,we done good though to give ourselves the chance.,,, the Harris and max crash should have been awarded as Berge was way back,,,2 points

I heard talk of an open top bus tour through Sittingbourne....2 points

Poole might have a couple of half decent riders in heats 13 and 15 it’s just the others that let them down. I thought we would have got thumped tonight so a great result I’d love Ipswich to sneak that last play off place behind Belle Vue , Peterborough and possibly Lynn now. Im sure if Poole get their track sorted they could avoid the wooden spoon2 points

What a fantastic race track you guys at Belle Vue have. The place should be packed every week.2 points

Don’t agree. If we had bigger hitters up top we wouldn’t have the strength in reserve or the solid look from top to bottom. We’ve beaten teams comfortably this year with our top scorer not even hitting double figures. The team is built so that every rider from 1-7 score half decent points, which totals up to winning meetings, and being competitive in others. Belle Vue are a good side, especially at home obviously, but if this was a play off final I’d fancy our chances of finishing this off at Foxhall.2 points

Rule dropped this year! Staggered starts....only ever seen that for Flat Track.....Speedway? I'm open to it!1 point

Thanks for pointing that out.One spelling mistake in 585 posts ? Must try harder obviously if we have got an English teacher checking for spelling mistakes.Looks like some people need to get a life.Obviously not much else to do in Scunthorpe when they have to come on a Sheffield thread.1 point

I thought this was all to do with one sponsor, who then duly pulled the plug on sponsoring Cook. This then left the remaining sponsors who were happy to have there logo's/writing in white1 point

Honestly Shafted is only a perception; a word that conveys the basic feelings most Comets fans feel with what has come to fruition throughout this whole sorry affair... The machinations that have gone on beggar belief. The unfortunate situation the former owner found herself in losing her business. Then the manoeuvring done by the previous council for all the reasons put forward previously and the manoeuvring done by Town in the first instance then by the Reds all to the detriment of the Comets... not including the bull squat spouted by Town's management team... Apart from the Comets going pop; to me the outgoing councillors hold the bulk of the blame with the two sporting clubs sharing what's left on the dismantling of DP... however all that Town and Reds have done to be fair is maximised there own positions due to the Speedway falling over and quite selfishly looked after their own interest to the detriment of the Comets... If either of those two went belly up I doubt if many Speedway fans would have lost any sleep (Well may be me old pal Singy) but if the shoe was on the other foot would we as Speedway fans feel any sympathy... possibly not... However we all feel shafted over losing the sport we love and enjoy and for the ground where we went to watch our sport of choice having the heart and soul being ripped out of it which means there is no chance of it coming back to that venue... and as stated there has been a certain amount of Jiggery Pokery going on what you will never get to the bottom of... I am now close to some of the newly elected Allerdale councillors and some of the story's I am hearing from them (if true) are shocking. However there is goodwill from many of these new council members and they would be open (I believe) to suppoting the sport at another venue if somewhere suitable could be found... However it's Catch 22 as you need someone to sink money into the sport to get the whole process with the council rolling as it won't start rolling until a promoter can be found... and all the pitfalls of that scenario have been well discussed... Sorry but I also feel that it's gone never to return... Sad times... Regards THJ1 point

I think it’s perfectly reasonable to suggest that Cook held out til June and realised that just riding for Glasgow isn’t doing him much good, and to then be prepared to take the next offer which came his way. I’d say good luck to both parties, we want as many quality riders in the league as possible. Highly unlikely though due to other commitments, almost certainly one of the reasons he didn’t line up for Lynn this year.1 point

I feel very sad for Kasper - dropped by both his teams. He showed at the end of last season what he's capable of, but just hasn't managed to reproduce it in 2019. Hope he gets fixed up somewhere soon. Maybe a spell back in Denmark will help him restore his confidence.1 point

Ostergaard confirmed as the replacement for Barker. Expected this to be honest, not a massive amount of riders to choose from based on the current averages.1 point

If Pedersen has made that move the BSF would go into melt down, not good from Fricke.1 point

I imagine Tungate will be saving his next sick note for Monday, he hates Monmore even more than Poole1 point

Seeing as you seem to know, tell us all what his guest rates are please.1 point

They will do nothing just use R/R all the time its the cheapest option and shows they have no interest in being competitive, shows that Peterborough are just in this league to keep it going and nothing else.1 point

It may be although they are apparently going to work on it while there is a gap in home meetings. One thing is for sure it will be more entertaining than Foxhall.1 point

I'm surprised at Belle Vue they don't try and find a local Asian or Muslim to become a speedway rider,,, that may be a way to get more supporters,,,,speedway seems very much a white person's sport,, both participating and watching,,, maybe that needs to change,1 point

Congratulations to Kent on the victory. Finally silverware to the county...after Eastbourne move out of the league admittedly lol1 point

Well ipswixh well and truly proved me wrong. Well done them. Poor performance from ourselves. Need to up our game. Glad Harris and max are ok after that1 point

For just such a good racetrack it’s a real shame BV can’t attract big crowds, especially with so many people in the area in a huge conurbation.1 point

Inclined to agree it’s our weak point away from home, but if Harris reaches peak form come the playoffs as he did for Poole last season then who knows! Good meeting all the way through, mostly hard but fair racing bar the Fricke Harris incident. Pleased for Stevie that he’s getting back the form he showed before that bad leg break. Wells letting the aces down badly need to find someone who’s quicker around the nss. Pleased with a point, glad to see Jake back and come through the meeting unscathed and everyone pitched in. up the witches just keep proving those doubters wrong!1 point

Fair play to the camera man... Keeps zooming in far enough to show 20 fans together... Edit: He's just done it again. .. Maybe they will all swap seats for the next time to make it look like it's a different section?1 point

They are running a loss anyway. This fixture should be a tenner, he’ll, even £5. Just put some f#####g bums on seats for gods sake!1 point

Lambert is putting these experiences to good use and having made the semi final`s in both the opening GP`s he must be putting in a decent argument for a wild card pick for next season.1 point

Reading the release it also said Redcar were going to respect his privacy. Im not going to pretend i like or respect Barker because i don't but as he has stepped away from speedway he is entitled to have his private life left private and not be subject of fishing exercises by those who know little but assume much.1 point

Plenty of rumours at the track last Friday, all of a similar vein. Given that they seem to be related to personal rather than speedway issues I don't think they can be aired on a public forum1 point

The amount of likes you got for this post just shows how delusional the UK is about Brexit. How is EU law affecting immigration to the UK from Australia? Or are you expecting freedom of movement between the UK and Australia after we leave?1 point
