With James Shanes unfortunately out for the rest of the season & Jordan Jenkins taking a break from the sport, could the Brummies possibly look into making 2 changes by bringing in Ben Morley ( 3.81 ) & Danyon Hume ( 3.27 ) in the reserve berths with Nick Agertoft reverting back to the number 2 position. Bearing in mind that Morley had well over a 4.5 point average whilst riding at number 2 for Lakeside last season and at Eastbourne for the first 3 months of this season before being let go & Hume is getting his confidence back after injuries last season with excellent performances for Leicester Cubs in the NDL. A run in a reserve berth along side Hume would give the Brummies a strong looking reserve pairing compared to other Championship teams instead of having a 2.00 rider with little experience in this league.4 points

H Gould, no hatred of the “ Dugard Family “ per se. They are part of the speedway promotion along with others, and they do show a lack of professionalism at Arlington. Whoever saw ANY speedway promoter getting involved “hands (or heads) on “with riders in sight of the paying public? Disgraceful behaviour. Once again they have got off scot free seemingly placing the blame 100% on Craig Cook.3 points

So if the existing penalty is upheld or increased and KL have no meetings then the penalty should apply next season.3 points

I'm sure that many fans and many officials of many Clubs would tell you that Craig Cook can be a very naughty boy when the mood takes him. Bit of a split personality and obviously 3rd August was a very dark day. Your obvious hatred of the Dugard family (for whatever reason justified or not) clearly clouds any serious judgement that you may have.3 points

Any rule that stops a team having two riders in every race is ridiculous,,,,,and also cheats the fans who have paid good money to see four riders in a race3 points

I'd agree with that. Swindon need Ellis Perks to chip in with 3 or 4 at home, otherwise it could be tight. Although Perks only scored 1 at Poole, he was giving 100%.3 points

Who knows, but the panthers fsns blame him for everything, so I thought I would,, but as you can see, I did back track and say no he isn't. I could have deleted it, but I didn't.2 points

Now Agertoft has got an official average, I'm not sure it's worth keeping him in the side for the rest of the year if there is a better option.2 points

Have to applaud Buster Chapman for services to speedway yet again. What that man won't do to get Chris Harris confidence up for the play offs is superb. #busterbacksthebomber2 points

At the risk of being chastised by another forum member for my previous reply to you, where on earth have you got this notion about a hate campaign. The PA guy said nothing. They had two interviews. One with Jon Cook who said about riders with the surname as him not being happy to ride the track. Martin Dugard was interviewed aswell and said that two juniors had been practising during the day and if they were fine, then supposed gp class riders should be able to. How the hell is that a hate campaign ? The PA guy was totally fine, his guests were a tad immature, but that certainly wasn't a hate campaign.2 points

Reading a biography, Benny Hill was a speedway fan. He moved to a new home as a child that was around 100 yards away from the Banister Court stadium in Southampton and followed the sport until his death in 1992.2 points

interesting that among the stellar names quoted there are some more modest talents - especially from those of us who only ever watched D2 racing. I myself have always admired triers, regardless of success2 points

Or could the points scored by the rider in the period when the ban could have taken place be annulled ?2 points

I still have one and in reality they offered very little protection but they did give much better perifheral vision which many riders prefered against full face helmets of the day .Mauger used to modify his mask as did Joe Owen in that he put in the biggest piece of lense material( came on a roll like clingfiim only thicker and you used the old lense as a pattern cut out with sissors ) that would fit ,you can see this on many of his action shots .2 points

As both clubs are under the same ownership I would suggest Lynn fans have a greater knowledge of the workings of your new owner.2 points

Fricke has the highest home average in the league, 1.5 points higher than Lambert, which makes it more difficult to cover for his absence at home than it is for any other number 1. Yes, some of our riders are not in form but prior to the defeat to Wolves we were still good enough to be in a relatively safe position for the play offs. Just be grateful, if Worrall and Bewley were on form we would probably win the play offs.2 points

An unattached 2 pointer could have been drafted into the team but there were none already on the island and by the time it was known that Phillips would not make the meeting it was too late for any mainland rider to get to the track.2 points

Yeah, could be a couple of suspensions for Cradley here. Never understood why a speedway rider or any sportsperson (pro or amateur) would book a holiday during the season (the exception being family weddings or similar) , shows complete disrespect to your team mates and club fans. (Unless you do an Armo and fly back from your Holiday to ride...)2 points

In Issue 94, our new 'Rivalry' feature will reflect on some of those classic East Anglian derby clashes from the 70s and 80s, so what are YOUR memories of battles between Ipswich and King's Lynn from that particular era? The infamous Kevin Jolly 'incident', when he 'fell' to force a rerun that went Witches' way, is one that no doubt springs to mind . . .1 point

Doc - a good summary of what actually happened. It looks like Old Bob has the real ‘hate campaign’ - in particular towards Jon Cook, and by association Eastbourne. I think he was vindictive toward Lakeside when JC was there, so I think most of us can see where his issue lies. As I’ve said before, both Dugard and Cook were probably unwise and unprofessional in making their remarks and were making points directly aimed at Craig Cook. A better response would have been just to acknowledge the concerns and then let the riders prove the point on the track - which they did.1 point

You were working in a full-time speedway publicity capacity? Sounds like you also had a part-time job as a meteorologist!!! Steve1 point

From what little I have found (and I hadn't heard of it either), it seems that it was generally called the New Forest Training Track. It was on St. Ive's Rd in Ferndown. Steve1 point

This is exactly the reason why RR should be limited to number of uses per season but to be kept back for examples like these. Switch over to RR for Phillips and Palin can take an extra ride, Bailey can cover another two, the result would likely remain the same but it would have created a closer spectacle and that is what people are paying to see. I certainly hope there are not anyone on a first time visit who won't return due to the rules crippling the sport.1 point

CraigA, I don’t have anything personal about Lemmo, just stating facts and some facts are very very harsh and it is a fact Lemon has blundered a number of times and he’s won nothing substantial. We must try someone else and imo I think screeny would be perfect.1 point

Yes, Brum are going to struggle at reserve and the pair of them have to cover Shanes rides as only Castagna of the top 5 can. Unless Brummies name a number 8? I assume that is still the rule!. Danyon Hume maybe? While he is erratic he is quicker than Agertoft & Jenkins. Not sure Ellis would be keen to partner him again though. IMO it would be worth switching Castagna to #2, Aarnio #4 and have R/R at #3.1 point

They were certainly widely used when I first went to speedway (1972) which is why riders like Michanek, Hellsen and, one of my favourites, Holmqvist (although he had adopted a 'monkey mask' by the time he rode at Cowley in 1973) made an impression on me as they were different to the norm.1 point

He is one hundred percent correct though. the way Ward behaves himself on social media just makes himself look even more of a knobhead than he looked before his crash. Some of the comments regarding other riders are disgraceful. The guy is a complete w@nker.1 point

Whatever the provocation (and there was most definitely provocation) the man threw punches at the very least. if he gets no ban at all while Kennett and Vissing do; it will be a complete mockery of a decision.1 point
