Slick? :O Many riders needed to go to the toilet before the meeting started because they were sh***ing themselves! That track was incredibly grippy, hence the reason why a number of the Glasgow riders keep shooting past the bends. Most riders were having to go 2-3 teeth higher than they normally would have. Sam Jensen looks to be a great capture, he'll be knocking up big points very, very soon I have no doubt.5 points

Will check but last I heard was £1,375 - which is a superb effort by those on the terraces - and in the posh seats too of course (and on the grass banking!!)3 points

I will reverse the roles and give the 'Poole version' had Harris been a Pirate against 2 Witches...... Bomber found tremendous grip and speed to expertly cut through the Witches pair to lead as all 3 approached turn 3 only for Kurtz to delay his turned forcing him wider whilst THJ despite being behind tried to drop it on him. Something had to give an THJ went down with the Witch being rightly excluded3 points

This might be all wrong. It's an age thing...... Wasn't it Rick Miller that was the only rider to finish a race at Brandon only to find he'd been excluded for not trying. He spent most of the race performing wheelies for the crowd. That was a 0-0.3 points

Touch of the Big Time Charlies about us last night . While we moaned and whinged about the track , the Scunny riders got on with it. attacked the track with a purpose and were well worthy of the win . 53-37 didn't flatter them at all . We're coming to the time of year when tracks ate going to be difficult and weather affected , and if we show the attitude we showed last night we'll be winning nothing3 points

A confident win.... no Bandit crocked this week (best wishes to Matty W though on recovering from what was a nasty spill) and my hubby wins the 1st prize on the 5-1 draw on our anniversary weekend... oh, and our next away opponents lose heavily at home That wasn’t too bad a night I tell ya3 points

My NHS career puts me in good stead to do it but no, it’s an absolute pleasure to help out my club anyway I can... that and my £10 standing order every month is just a small token of what I wish I could do!3 points

Perhaps you need to take your rose tinted glasses off.... If the positions were reversed and an Ipswich rider had got up and let the race continue there would have been uproar. It's only seen as cheating when the other side does it. Long standing fans still laugh about the time when Kevin Jolly done exactly the same thing at King's Lynn back in the 70's, when the league was actually a meaningful competition. That did win us the match back then. What Kurtz did made no difference to the result, we gated on a 5-1 in the re-run but Holder easily got by King in the only genuine pass of the match. What was more depressing was that a good crowd had turned up, positive new signings in the Witches camp and a genuine must win scenario only to find that yet again they were given a total pile of crap to race on. Dust after 4 heats, no extra water put down, nothing round the outside, just the usual gate and go you get at Ipswich these days. The close scoreline made for a good atmosphere but how much better it would have been if there was some decent racing to go with it. At the end of the day the better side won.3 points

Thanks Steve. The rule was quoted at the time and yes, by-the-book, the ref was correct. But it's odd isn't it? Watching one rider, riding for a 3-0 is not very entertaining is it? But seeing the same rider doing one handed wheelies and waving to the crowd makes everyone smile. Ho hum.2 points

If you didn't see it, then that's perfect, your view on the situation should be correct and un biased. Your view would be even better if you had heard someone talking about it whilst out doing some shopping. Maybe you got it first hand from a riders friends girlfriends dog walker.2 points

I think it might have been (not sure) Magnus Zetterström who said something like, when asked about retirement, that if you start thinking about retiring then you have already retired mentally, that one starts loosing/shifting focus to the retirement.2 points

I guess that if Ippo had managed to sneak a home win, the fair-minded fans would have booed Bomber?!2 points

Yes there is , but I like to go to the Black and Gold after the speedway and stop in Berwick overnight2 points

It wouldn't be if we had kept NBJ but hes injured now so would have needed replacing anyway but maybe if we had left it we could have got a better option. It was still a bad decision in my view. Wells didn't get sacked by Belle Vue because he was going well.2 points

I really don’t think Lambert is ready for a full season of GPS, perhaps another 2 years off. It’s been a good experience this year being series reserve, has given him more gps then probably thought, what with Greg not taking his place unfortunately. Kolodeiz, apart from a GP win, which was really good, he hasn’t done much. He must have something going for him to win a gp, and I accept you can’t win gp every meeting, but some sort of consistency would be nice. He seems to be another Lindback, so frustrating cause you know what he can do but just doesn’t manage it for whatever reason.2 points

reading the press releases from eastbourne the authorities should be more ashamed they have refused Eagles permission to use a bloody good reserve in Danyon Hume who wants to ride for them. No doubt if he was some johnny foreigner no one had heard of he'd be fine. more ashamed should be Georgie Wood who gets himself another ban for being totally unprofessional for the IOW and letting them and Eastbourne down.2 points

Some posts on here really haven't aged very well at all have they, bemoaning the 'no hope' Zagar and Iversen for qualifying for next year. Who are those two in tonights final again?2 points

But surely Plymouth can't go on without Wallinger? They will have to close the club down.2 points

Can understand the ruling if it's two riders on the track but it's a bit odd when it's just one rider . Strangely enough I was discussing with a friend last night how you used to see wheelie competitions at meetings at one time, I guess that's another thing that's disappeared a bit like mechanics races and such like1 point

I though Zmarlik was bordering on dangerous in some of his races and IMO he will either cause or be involved in an accident riding in this way.1 point

I also was there- 1969 v Plymouth heat 8 1st attempt Plymouth`s John Ellis suffered an EF and was excluded for not being under power when the race was stopped on the 2nd lap when away rider Chris Roynon(father of Adam) had racers rider Bob Tabet off and was excluded leaving just Tabet and his partner Dene Davies to cruise round in the re-run for a 5-0 !!! However Davies fell on the 1st lap and Tabet on the 2nd. My thanks to Arnie Gibbons`s wonderful book " tears and Glory" for the details.1 point

It was aimed at Brady....just all the Poole riders were on the truck........1 point

It will be R/R if he doesn't make it.Which in truth at home Wolves can cover that with Thorssell,Morris,Becker and Douglas all able to take a ride each. With Porsing back for Lynn i think that weakens them, after watching his last performance there.Shame they couldn't bring Nicol back in the team after he returned from injury last night. Wolves will win this one easily,as Lynn's engine room will again be found wanting.1 point

At Exeter on a Bank Holiday Monday many, many moons ago. Heat 2 1st guy breaks the tapes and gets excluded. Re-run all three come down in the first turn, two of them get injured, ref excludes one anyway as primary cause. Single guy lines up for the third time of asking and suffers an engine failure. Someone may remember it better.1 point

There isnt an opinion to be had....we was there we saw it......as expected you and Shovlar and Starman try and defend it.....laughable I couldnt see from where i was that he was grinning but the cat call and boos were evident...........of course he was winded........when im winded i often have a delayed reaction...go to stand up have a look about and then sit back down again lol Nope nobody has said the result of the race changed....we simply dont condone cheating..and ive already said Harris was lucky not to be excluded The week previous Swindon beat us....the Ipswich fans stayed behind to applaud them on the way they rode..............this week the Poole riders were booed....says it all Must be jealousy lol1 point

Beat me to it! Douglas and Becker at reserve. Reserves look strong. Our worst signing of the season Wells likely to have a tough night.1 point

Hi Robbie well done last night your random picks seem to be working okay for you however I have not given up hope of catching you so watch out next Saturday susans11 point

Badly is right that points limit would have to be 40 so perhaps if we select a pool of 16 british young lions they can go and stay at no.7 on a 2 to 3 average all season depending on ability. 4 of the 16 acting as injury cover, sure someone will come up with a list of candidates. NL North 1. Berwick 2. Edinburgh 3 Newcastle 4. Redcar 5. Scunthorpe 6. Belle Vue 7. Stoke NL South 1. Eastbourne 2. Cradley Heath 3. Isle of Wight 4. Kent 5. Mildenhall 6. Plymouth 7. Coventry Could be branded the Northern/Southern "Super 7" series Home and Away twice Top 4 from each league progress to play offs so winner North plays 4th in South and so on... One cup competition with all clubs combined also Very much a less is more1 point

Another superb team performance times seemed a bit slow tonight hope Matty okay never stops trying. Also a postman £500 better of I think I heard. Hope we are getting a guest got the double header next week anyway away out for a beer or three1 point

Irrespective of which order i quoted them doesn’t change the facts that 1 initially you said what’s the point of all this research- no one is interested. 2 as soon as you found out he was doing it to complete Speedway researcher years records it became the best thing since sliced bread !!!1 point

Of course Poole would want Swindon in the final - and vice versa. Its all about the finances for both clubs this season!!1 point

blimey steady on falcon you are talking some good sense there. two leagues I think is the way forward as even a few premier league fans are complaining at the lack of different opposition and as a national league supporter I am fed up with our riders missing matches for us to ride in the championship. north south divide also sounds good if you can get enough teams to take part. I wonder if anyone above is listening though.1 point

Scooters I can understand. If Bomber is there, he would steal it, and see if it goes any quicker than his bikes! Of course, it might take him a time to get the setup right... I'll get me coat...1 point
