To be fair I think their is good argument for a minimum of 5 to be applied for all new foreign riders.4 points

What does it matter? If a load of Poles come along making it viable so that British fans can have a good day out watching the worlds top riders I'd call that a result2 points
-
As I see it the reason is simple, our riders haven't been good enough away from the AFA. While it's great to have "Application, attitude and passion", does it have "far greater importance to the value of a riders impact for the team"? It will only get you so far imho. You could put a Championship side into the Prem, and they won't win anything with all the application, attitude and passion in the world..2 points

Adonis is talking bullocks, but then, looking at his avatar of Yaxley_Lennon, what can you expect ?! Its a good read, and definitely not full of "I am better than everyone else" ! My advice would be buy it, see what you think, you can always sell it on Ebay, Gumtrre, etc....2 points

Richard is the big loser here as will lose a nights wage, whichever way. if he has to ride for ippo then Eastbourne fans are the losers in not seeing their best rider over the season not being able to race the last home match of the season.1 point

The EOS league was split into conferences last year after a large percentage of the Scottish Junior football clubs decided to become full members of the SFA1 point

Didn't anyone think of telling Patryk Dudek that it's the Final this week?1 point
-
So true. This is the first time in 30 years a team have won 3 years in a row and the first time since the post season cup was introduced.1 point
-
So it seems as though there will be a 'top' league of x clubs next season. With the likes of Terry Russell wanting to keep Jason Doyle in an 8 team league it begs the question about how many 8+ point riders will be allowed in the team building and to what team points limit? Swindon, Belle Vue and Kings Lynn may well have some serious decisions to make with their Number 1s.1 point

One advantage (albeit small and minor) that Wolves have is that, I believe, there are no tactical substitutes in the play- offs. Jason Doyle will be the best rider on show, over the 2 legs, by a mile. So to limit him to 5 rides at Monmore will be good from a Wolves perspective.1 point

Very brave too. Can the crowdsize comprehend the added costs? Only the promotion will know1 point

It's the final round of the U21 World Championship on the Friday night in Pardubice - I assume that's why the wildcard/reserves are erm odd. I assume Miedzinski will be unleashed upon anyone who threatens Zmarzlik's title1 point
-
Miskowiak is the current (surprise) U21 Polish Champion, although totally out of shape in recent weeks. Still, I can see why he'd be picked as a reward for winning the title. Zupinski? One of the many reasonably talented Polish youngsters. Gdansk is not very far from Torun, maybe that's what they looked at. Miedzinski is a bad joke in every aspect. Not picking Kubera who's the World U21 Championship leader blows my mind.1 point

Speedway needs an independent body or panel with no ties to any club and the head someone with experience but no ties.1 point

Yes if Wolves would like to swap Douglas for THJ then I am sure we could be accommodating!1 point

Excellent result by Smerderna last night, but nothing wn yet and we need score those required 37 points as fast as possible, so focus is the key factor tonight's meeting for a hat-trick of league titles.1 point

It was late Frederik Jakobsen is who I meant, he is the Dane who was at Poole last year isn't he? There was a Frederik Eriksson once, was there not?1 point
-
I've only seen him at Redcar and he must have been rolling in every heat, because he always seems to enter first corner in lead!! Can't think of any other reason than rolling Whereas our rider Erik Riss also usually gets to the first bend ahead, but of course he is just a good gater and never rolls!!1 point

IT probably did but there was no third party involved. The FIM determined which countries would stage a World Final and when. But like other motorcycle disciplines (Moto GP, etc) the commercial rights were later sold and the FIM banked the money.1 point

I am probably wrong, but seem to remember something about British speedway getting a share of any profit from Wembley world finals ?1 point

If I remember rightly, he pulled the wheelie crossing the finish line, in the lead, at the end off the race and fell just beyond the line. But we remember his time at Coventry for a lot more than that. A true professional and ambassador for the sport.1 point

Yes there are alot of positive's and this meeting is great for speedway but i don't hear two many moans on this thread most of the points raised are valid.1 point

Having "someone who knows what they are doing" wouldn't of saved the Prem league and BT deal this season. He was the only one that put his hand in his pocket, and probably lost money. I'm not saying he is the right man for the job, He's set in his ways, that's for sure, but where would the Prem have been without him this season ? Gone maybe. Cabbage patch , well they go together with webbed feet around these parts1 point

Weather permitting, I am hoping to be there. 'Mon the Tigers!1 point

This thread shows just how out of touch some members of this forum are. All they can do is moan, moan, moan. Every year you get the same folks whinging about the racing. Every year you get the same folks declaring how they don't go to Cardiff and most people they know don't.. Yet every year we get a crowd of nigh on 40,000 which no other stadium can even dream of obtaining, let alone having the capacity to do so.1 point

Agreed with both. The calibre of people running the show = Buster Godfrey & Co are tbh useless. They couldn’t run a bath. They have proved to be totally incompetent. And before someone says that’s harsh take a look at the state of our sport. It’s completely knackered. Anyone who is anyone wouldn’t touch Speedway with a 20’ barge pole. More pain to come for fans and clubs that’s for sure.1 point

Mmmm, I'm thinking more like a no sale if he doesn't lose money clause. I very much doubt there was ever going to be a sale,,, just uncle Buster agreeing to pay any debt that may occur1 point

Gone way beyond that. No-one truly professional would take it on, having looked closely at it as a project.1 point

I thought it was interesting listening to Allen & Stead on the BT GP Coverage, particularly Stead who was voicing his opinion that riders should be more ambitious... At the risk of being controversial, wasn't it Stead that hid away in the lower leagues for a lot longer than he should have done taking the coin? Maybe more of a do as I say manager than do as I do. Anyway, I wish them all the best, GB will be nothing again until regular test matches are run, you can do all the skipping and ball catching you like, there's nothing like experience1 point

I spend my money where its needed............BRITISH Speedway. I dont go to Cardiff anymore. Overpriced in every way. I remember the time that when you bought a ticket, you got a programme included. The following year they advertised 'no price rises for tickets'. Yet those tickets DIDNT include a programme. So the actual price did go up! I refused to pay and have not been since. The money I would need to spend to get there, travel, ticket, programme, food etc, I save and give out as sponsorship to a NL rider. I also go round the Country watching and have been to the majority of tracks this season. Still hoping to do more with the Play Offs etc. I want British Speedway to gain revenue, not the Corporate moguls.1 point

Im all for promotion of emerging riders (be that youthful or otherwise) however ive always been in favour of being good enough rather than young enough. Protecting riders has done no favours in the past whilst the Aussies have no comfort blanket at all and it is a pure case of sink or swim. There will obviously be riders lost by the wayside who are either no strong enough on or off the track but those that are left will ultimately have made the grade.1 point

Morris is not on an attractive average? A rider on nearly 2 points lower than when he left us. Unfortunately, riders have to be sacrificed next season through no fault of their own but Morris should be a rider that we want in the team. You could, and I haven’t even looked at averages, sacrifice Tobi and Razza for Morris and Bellego assuming JD still wants to ride in the league.1 point

What was it that was once said by Woffy every other teams manager takes them out to a nice restaurant on a strict dietary regime then you got Rosco takes GB to a kebab house.1 point
