Depends what you’re looking for. I’ve quite enjoyed this and think it’s been decent. Not amazing but decent.8 points

The sliver lining for the forum though is that the loon who used to come on here banging on about him no longer does so.. Seemed to stop posting on here altogether... Wonder what happened to them?..2 points

Falubaz has gone a bit quiet. Perhaps he has just realised his team are very mediocre. They should have signed Lambert. He would have done better than most of this shower.2 points

Where did you get that figure from? There's no way a private helicopter would cost £100,000.2 points

There always used to be touring teams going out to Aussie for a few months during their summer, I agree, GB could have (and still can) organise a touring team to take around Europe for the rest of the summer to get some much needed continental experience, in fact it's an ideal opportunity at the moment due to the lack of domestic league racing2 points

Just watched the video of lodz v Tarnow( rain affected) and fair play to Adam Skornicki who sprinted on to the track when Norbert Koscuich disappeared under the air fence in heat 7. He worked extremely quickly to get to him to see if he was ok.- Top work.2 points

Really looking forward to the meeting it’s coming up quick 19 heats with some quality youth and some experienced hands . Also awaiting answer from ringitsneck on question posed.1 point

I would far rather the SCB / BSPA concentrate on British affairs. Why should they be interested in Poland?1 point

A bit late in the day but I have just watched the youth championship held at Scunthorpe and those who bemoan the quality of racing at this level should take a look again. Heat 6 is just one example. Raw talent reminiscent of speedway in the late sixties and early seventies when grass track riders gave speedway a go. In those days it would throw up some riders who would excite and my most memorable was at Rayleigh when Ivan Miller beat Boston's Arthur Price. What a race for those who were in the stadium on that bank holiday Monday These young lads today deserve every speedway fans support. They get out on track and give it a go and the gutsy performances deserve so much more and not the criticism that seems to be par for the course. Speedway purists will understand, those who believe the current league set up is the be all and end all a requires the skills of Doyley or similar to make the sport entertaining are deluded. If only tracks like my local, Ipswich , would put on a few of these amateur meetings I am sure the ‘anoraks’ of the sport would support the meetings and many would be happy to pay £10 to watch these lads entertain. To those at grass roots level you are appreciated.1 point

Anyone else think that home teams shouldn't be able to use tactical substitutes? Seems an unfair rule.1 point

Be good if Premier would put their hands in their pocket and employ both Alex and Dave Goddard to work together. Better to have two commentators. Holder really doing a fine job so far.1 point
-
Strange isn't it? You race a multi round, prestigeous competition and come second and you're not automatically "promoted" if the winner qualifies for the GPs some other way. But if you finish 4th in a one off meeting with a relatively poor line up, you do. No offence R&R. You're not responsible for the FIM.1 point

So far worth spending £100,000 To get Holder to ZG. A better opening race already with brilliant team riding from the Poole pair.1 point

It’s a bit better than standing about while they repair safety fences and waiting for ambulance to arrive at the track in GB,which is the norm the last few years.Tracks do seem to be a bit slicker this year though.1 point

It was an ok meeting in the end. Few passes at the back. Don't think you'll see a good Rybnik meeting tbh. Not because of track prep it's purely down to them putting out a team that really shouldn't be allowed to compete in the Ekstraliga. The second meeting should be a lot better / closer.1 point

I have seen the sad news that Jan, former Cradley rider and father of Frederik has died of cancer at a fairly early age. Born in 1965 http://www.cradleyspeedway.co.uk/riders/jakobsen.htm I had seen him a few times helping Frederik out when he was doing 85cc and also when he was team manager of Vojens last time they were in the Danish Superliga. A nice cheerful guy https://fyens.dk/artikel/jan-jakobsen-bliver-holdleder-i-vojens-2008-10-131 point

Spent 18 holes stuck behind young Cam yesterday. Him and his buddy wouldn't let me play through, must be a speedway thing1 point

No Dave Goddard for today's matches so Premier Sports will be operating the commentator replacement facility (one presumes! or it could just be silence)... I hope it's the 5-1er, 3-3er guy1 point

He could have settled for second but (when he can be bothered) KK is a speedway racer and their instinct is to try and come first. We chastise enough riders for not trying to race or being gating tarts, it was just one of those things that happens in speedway unfortunately. Get well soon Adam.1 point
-
Because 2nd place would have been enough to make KK the winner of the meeting. It used to happen in one-off World finals. Many riders (eg Mauger, Collins, Penhall) settled for a second in their final ride to ensure winning the meeting and not take any unneccesary risk. Even a third would have guaranteed a GP place. Instead he found himself excluded and at risk of not qualifying. That's why he could have settled for second.1 point

Zagar is clearly in the world's top ten at present (look at Ekstraliga averages) so clearly deserves to be in GP. What is bizarre is that he has qualified before turning a wheel in this year's GP.1 point

Tony was always developing equipment usually based on agriculture machine equipment. He was an engineer that worked on farming equipment as a living. He used to try things out at Newcastle such as fine sprayers behind a tractor instead go water dripping down, spraying equipment with the long arms out. He wasn't for deep lumpy tracks, but smooth tracks moist on the top, from a good and regular watering. Did the same for Hull and Worky and Redcar.1 point

The meetings are chosen first and foremost for the standard of the racing. We have a record of how many heats from each match were chosen for the end of season highlights tapes. So while Newport may have had better teams in other matches they did not provide such good racing.1 point

Looks most likely that Saturday Oct 10th for the Belle Vue round...BSPA PERMITTING. good decision all round... back to a Saturday1 point

It seems that all is not well on the Polish speedway front and after many years of hearing how good it is, with the exception of one or two races and riders, it is pretty bland and possibly a missed opportunity to showcase the sport and themselves to the world which thus far has be relatively deprived of good racing with so many countries unable to hold professional meetings. Maybe speedway UK should focus on its own product for next year, race on days that suit the tracks and build teams around riders who commit to British speedway first and foremost. If the standard falls so be it but it can be rebuilt if you give the riders a chance to race week in week out in the UK. It cannot be any worse than what is currently on offer.1 point

Yes it is the reward system to recognise certain peoples extra contribution as you know. I think Keith is thinking that we should give everyone that walks through the gate, a medal which is not realistic or reasonable. There will always be those whose contributions are more valuable to keep speedway running and the Lord Mayors award was for that purpose.1 point
