Do you have any idea how to promote? If it wasn’t for these owners there would be no speedway at Newcastle. Maybe it’s about time people stop slagging them off and getting behind them for a change.

No its a sensible suggestion and you shouldn't get shot down for it but I believe it is the Stadium owners (ARC) who are dictating the strict terms with regard to Covid safety; because it seems (and I could be wrong) the Council appear to give any proposals to do things differently a fair airing and if the council think whatever the promotion are suggesting to do with regard to Covid safety may work then they seem open to supporting them and giving them the opportunity to try the new proposal. ARC on the other hand don't want you using cash however that's a bit hypocritical when they are taking cash for the drink they are selling inside the stadium; however I don't think the Birmingham situation helped either again could be wrong... but we are where we are As @IronScorpion stated earlier names and addresses taken before entry at Scunny and as @Ringitsneck stated its not beyond the wit of man to put something simple in place to allow for the taking of cash on the day without the need of using pinch points like the turnstile's. All you need is a table in the car park in front of the turnstiles with a couple of people on it and four more tables spaced apart with a pen on each one; a ticket like a raffle ticket that we all know; about and the size of a 5 pound note; perforated up the middle; one half is an entry ticket to the stadium and the other side a place for the name; address and telephone number of the person using it; Buy ticket at first table; fill in name and address at next table where you will find a pen; then just go join the line at the large gates being used for entry; on entry keep your ticket for the rain off and rip the perforated side off and chuck that into a bucket; then if there is a need to track and trace you have a bucket full of names and addresses; or is that to hard. No congregating; no crowding of people; a flow through that follows the same process we have now (which works well) a ticket for the fan should the meeting be abandoned and a ticket for the promotion to keep with all the contact details on just in case of a Covid problem; and how about this; when the restrictions are lifted if there is still the need to socially distance and track and trace you have a bucket full of names for a free raffle for free entry to the next meeting... little incentive to buy a ticket... it suggests the opposite doesn't it? i.e. where do another 35 riders come from? Going back to 2019 double uppers were getting ave 28 PL and ave 26 CL matches (excl KOC and play offs). So an ave of 54 standard league matches. If there was one big league of 16 (although not all would be able to afford it) gives a rider an equivalent of 30 matches. That's almost half the chance to earn than before. Yes you could increase fixtures but would clubs want to change from c14 home meetings in 2019 to c27 home meetings give the riders the same amount of meetings? Could they even? It's an impossible mess and a totally predictable one at that.

There will be a few people that think this is a bad move (cough Nanna June cough) but personally see this as a really positive move. Josh hasn't really been his usual self at home this season never mind away, and signing Adam we've finally got an out and out number 1, that's capable of scoring away as well as home.. I for one have to admit im quite pleased with the move... We might get 26 points at Edinburgh on Friday now

Great meeting at Glasgow on Saturday night, friendly people , great racing and the Brits doing well, all in all a great success. Hope Glasgow get the chance to host the next qualifier in 2022.

ARC will allow zero risk to the running of the dogs. That is their core business. Hopefully a better crowd next week to welcome back Bjarne

at Peterborough and a few other tracks I've noticed when they're lined up being introduced in front of the crowd, the first riders introduced can't be @rsed to wait for the final riders to be introduced and start to be pushed away while the last couple of riders are being introduced to the crowd... totally amateurish and an insult to the fans really. Some of these riders really need to wake up to what's going on!

Once these guys pay their cash on the gate do they then sign in for track and trace (or use the NHS app to sign in on their phone)? The original issue at Birmingham for ARC was once people paid on the gate a pinch point was caused in the stadium with fans having to sign in and social distancing went right out of the window... If fans are being allowed in anywhere without using a track and trace system the venue are breaking current Covid regulations... If this is the case it also shows the disparity in how different local authorities are managing the process... it also shows the benefits of owning (or having control) of your own stadium and not having a landlord imposing further restrictions on your operations Regards THJ

Media side of the promotion is shocking, I have said that before. Press releases are put on Facebook and third parties post the contents here. The website is not used? The website started off promising but is now crap with dead links etc. I would put my life on the line and say the vast majority of the fan base of the club do not use Facebook or read here. The promotion of the club is rubbishe.

As a Poole fan living in Plymouth and Bjarne being my OG favourite rider this is an interesting meeting can’t wait!!

Coming down for this. I believe if we can keep it down to ten points or less we should go through. Both our two Aussies will probably not like it very much. At least Ben Cook has seen racing there spannering for his brother!

Even with my own profound dislike of Chris Holder, it can't be denied that he was a deserved qualifier and the quality of racing was excellent. After attending in person the qualifiers at Glasgow in 2019 and 2021, I would be delighted to see the Facena family awarded with another qualifier in 2022.

Pay on the gate is available tonight

There have been tracks over the years, who have operated during the week and successfully. What holds back many of us, from travelling outside our local areas, is the diabolical traffic congestion we have to contend with in this country. Of course, that also affects the riders and especially those who want to work and ride. It's a bit late now, as so many tracks have gone, but over the years, people have said the teams should be put in leagues based on where the track is located, i.e. Northern League, Eastern League etc, but for reasons best known to others, it never happened. For speedway to survive, there needs to be a complete overhaul, but 'limping on' seems to be the way it is presently.

Wolves and Poole aren't being hit with the same problems. They are selling out but still can't make enough money as the capacity is too low. Newcastle and Birmingham seem to be struggling to sell tickets full stop. But both seem to be ignoring other avenues to sell tickets.

Then send them round on a bike, it's so easy to do Are you referring to the Mark Thorpe incident at Swindon around 30 years ago? I believe a rule was introduced after that, that a rider couldn't be on the track at the same time as a tractor... nothing to do with helmets and parades. 2019 at BV the riders used to come round without helmets on and line up in front of the grandstands so the fans could see who they are and what they look like, more important than ever these days with them all wearing the same race suits, or they may as well just be robots. The parade at Leicester the other week saw all of the riders wearing helmets with the exception of Josh Auty... bizarre!

Scunthorpe manage to suss out Ellis,but obviously with averages and especially Costs it is not easy.I couldn’t care less if there are changes or not , but it does not show the sport in good light when you have guests or R/r every week.It certainly impacts the Berwick Team as r/r for a second string rider doesn’t suit a strength in depth Team IMO.

Plymouth have signed Luke Ruddock to replace the injured Henry Atkins as their rising star.

Rode for both Sheffield and Redcar at Berwick in 2019. Sheffield 5 rides 2 points , two 3rd places and three last places. Redcar 4 rides 5 points, one win, one 2nd place and two last places.. Both riding in the main body of the team and riding the number 2 position in both meetings.

I presume that there hasn't been a 'root and branch' overhaul because those 'in control' don't see anything wrong with their operating model and business plan...? And fair play to them too... Can't be easy constantly avoiding the obvious year after year, after year...

if the senior citizens are being put off by online sales why not open the turnstiles just for them or propose to ARC for that facility ( as surely both jabs have been administered by now so to lessen the risk of exposure) just a suggestion so dont shoot me down we need folk through the door not put off.

An excellent reply at one time many teams operated Friday, Saturday and Sunday making it possible to have another income outside speedway. Having foreign riders has stopped that as they ride in Europe of a weekend. So supporters have to watch their side midweek and British riders cant ride as they need another income to make speedway viable. There is something wrong with speedway and it is making it entertaining in a place that is welcoming at time that's suitable and a cost that's reasonable.

I feel sorry for Ty .No way is he enjoying it right now. No points , no pay. Myself i think it started in 2019.You could see him backing off a little down the back straight at times. He's seems like a nice bloke. Even when he is having problems himself, he was still trying to help Bridger in the Wolves meeting, by giving him advice about riding the track. But whoever put the Stars to together clearly didn't assemble the Panthers team....Or did they.... Incompedence springs to mind...Ty is at 4.20 at the moment on the latest GSA's from 18th-6, and it's dropping. As it stands we have 6.82 to replace Ty with. That was over 7 points 10 days ago. I know riders are not easy to come by. But imho something needs to change to save our season.

Should be no helmets on parade a slow ride round to wave to fans, at glasgow on sat first 8 riders introduced then they start gardening while last 8 introduced looked awful.

I think that in calling meetings off clubs are on a hiding to nothing. An early call off and a change in the weather forecast and they get criticised. Call it off late because of the same change and they still get criticised. Don't call it off at all and get an abandoned meeting and there is even more criticism.

In sport you are there to be shot down if people feel you aren't doing what is expected of you.He gets paid,we as fans pay to watch the team do what is expected.At the moment you would think he is living on borrowed time for Leicester let alone K.Lynn.In sport the aim is to win things not be the ones to say well at least you took part.He should be able to take criticism like anyone else who gets paid to do ordinary jobs like ourselves.I know you don't like football Trees but many of them get abuse 100 times worse than what Proctor is getting.

Well that's a massive well done to the whole set up at Newcastle diamonds after a terrific team performance against a very good Leicester side .. the track held up very well in the warm conditions so let's hope a few more stay away fans return for the remainder of the season.. remember the league isn't won on paper . Looks like rob has found a very decent reserve in JPB & that's know disrespect to Joe alcock as he will come back a much better rider once he gets a team place in the future

Bumped into Andy and Jill Grahame today. Talked about his Lee Ashby interview and he told me that next up will be brother Alan on, he thinks, July 1st. Now that will be interesting.
