  3. Guzumped talk to me! There I was in the log cabin concluding a deal with Busty for Jimmy Lynch & Main Man Rogers to be his team managers, when this dude in his XR3i shows up, shouting “sold it geezer! 1.5% commission, it didn’t even go on right move, where do I put my board?” Slick back hair, suit from Next and shiny shoes from Barrats! I couldn’t compare with such suave! Before I know it Busty offers him the job there and then! Main Man Rogers is heartbroken had his resignation to Mase typed up too! I’ve assured Main Man Rogers and Jimmy Lynch I’m slipping Busty a few hundred quid to sponsor the Stars next year! On the proviso that T Tibbs Motors Europe Limited’s operations director Jimmy Lynch is named Team Manager and our head of customer relations Main Man Rogers will be his assistant. I’ll even throw in a lovely Renault Clio Convertible for Big Dale! You know it’s a deal you can’t refuse Busty!!!

  4. Let's hope we can discuss all things speedway without the petty bickering and name calling..... Adam Roynon returns to the team on Friday (Taken off Newcastle Speedway Facebook Page): Some very welcome news for Diamonds Fans, in the shape of our number 2 Adam Roynon Racing, returns this weekend just in time for the Derby meetings! 6. Probably a mistake coming back after so long away from the sport I think people would rather remember him as he was when he retired.

  9. Thanks to the guys at Mildenhall we at least have a preview for Saturday`s meeting. From Mildenhall Speedway - Fen Tigers head North in search of League points This Saturday evening, the Mildenhall Fen Tigers, proudly sponsored by Manchetts Rescue and Recovery, head to Berwick in search of important League points following Sunday’s close home defeat to Kent. For a second meeting running the Fen Tigers will be without No 1 Jason Edwards who is with Eastbourne on Championship duty and will also miss Captain Jordan Jenkins who after bravely riding over the weekend has suffered further issues with his wrist and has wisely decided to rest for 12 days and will look to return to the Fen Tigers colours on Sunday 1st August. Edwards absence will be covered by Armadale’s Danny Phillips whilst Jenkins will be covered by Rider Replacement. Team Manager Malcolm Vasey said – “Losing Jason for a second meeting is obviously disappointing, but with a heavily delayed start to the season due to covid, the best part of 20 rain offs already in the Championship, and a cut off date in that league of September 19th clubs are struggling to fulfil their fixtures and we are suffering for this just now. I know Jason is desperate to ride for us and no blame is attached to him, Jordan rode with the heart of a lion over the weekend showing immense courage, but has to be sensible as we would not want him out for a long period of time and we fully support his decision. Injuries are part and parcel of this wonderful sport and that’s now two riders we are missing from our starting seven. We still await concrete news from Arran Butcher but his injury is taking longer to heal than we hoped and it may be a while yet before he is in contention for a team spot. We know it will be no easy task at Berwick, but if we can make a faster start than we did on Sunday I feel confident we have a good chance of bringing some points back to West Row” The club are currently working with the Berwick management to find a suitable date for the rained off home NDL fixture and hope to be able to advise supporters in the next week of a new date. Teams – Berwick Bullets - 1 Kyle Bickley 8.57 (C), 2 Mason Watson 4.30, 3 Luke Crang 6.41, 4 Kieran Douglas 3.83, 5 Greg Blair 7.41, 6 Ryan MacDonald 3.00, 7 Ben Rathbone 3.83 Fen Tigers - 1.Danny Phillips 7.53, 2 R/R (Jordan Jenkins) 6.55, 3 Elliot Kelly 3.62, 4 Luke Ruddick 6.67, 5 Sam Bebee 4.25, 6 Sam Hagon 3.00, 7 Luke Muff 3.00

  10. Wouldn't take any notice of the companies house declarations. I am sure that all clubs have a good accountant to present the figures that suit their circumstances. In a largely cash based system who really knows what comes in and what goes out ? Most clubs are run by volunteers with a few cash paid staff. As has been said earlier, if a promoter was actually paying out £100k from his own pocket to keep a speedway club afloat he wouldn't do it twice. They must be making a living out of being a speedway promoter. Not a fortune maybe , but they certainly are not shellling out £100k a year from thier own pockets to promote a speedway club. Individual meetings bit the dust years ago when the cheap skates decided on a 12 heat format. If someone put up a new bike as a prize (a la Internationale) and run a 20 heat format with some star riders taking part the crowds would come to watch.

  11. Gradings never work (as has been proven before) because of the value range of a grade. Teams will always go for the highest rider in a grade, as was seen before, and you could have a disparity between the top and bottom teams of around 4 - 5 points.

  12. Interesting to read the comments re the track. Attended as a neutral. Thoroughly enjoyed the meeting. I have definitely seen better racing at Peterborough but still thought it was very watchable. A number of the races without passing were still very close. In addition, for there to be no dust on such a hot day was something that the track staff should be proud of. A few digs at Buster Chapman on here but I have also been to Kings Lynn this season and the racing was excellent.

  13. That’s a pretty bizarre thing to say and makes zero sense in all honesty. The bloke’s last meeting for Ipswich was a flawless 15 point maximum where he looked head and shoulders above everyone else on the night. If Cook should give the top league up and “just concentrate on the CL”, then 90% of the others in the top flight should do also! Not your smartest contribution Steve.

  16. A tight, grippy track was never going to suit Crump tonight so soon after big injuries, so unfortunately we didn’t see the best of him this evening. Cook can clearly cut it at Prem level, as he has shown repeatedly this season, so we will have to differ on that one, old mate!

  21. Ok so this is pretty much a dead rubber as far as the overall result is concerned ..But if the racing is as good as last week ,it is definately worth a visit,,,Admission 0n the gate ,no more need for pre match booking,,,,,,Scott Nicholls, and Paul Starke are real racers and are flying at the moment,, And with some detirmined efforts from Ben Morley and Dan Gilks and hoping for a better return from Paul Hurry ,we could even get a result on the night......I believe Kyle Howorth guests for the resting Cameron Heeps....I am anticipating some great racing ,and i recon the stadium will be packed for the first time this season,,,,,,

  22. I’ve seen at lot of pigeons get released from PB. One landed in my garden, I went to grab the message, but at the last minute it spotted my mobile, it then squeaked into its miniature headset and took off.

  25. They did, on 13th August 1964. Wilf Jay rode at reserve in the home match against Long Eaton and scored 1. His sons, Alan and Derek, were also in the team and scored 10 and 0 respectively.

  33. I think some have too high expectations for Crump, he is 45 and been retired for 8 years, he was never going to be anything like the rider he was and signing him as a number 1 was a crazy decision, should have been a reserve. It’s sad as I was a huge fan of his at his prime when rode for Belle Vue.

  41. Where have I posted a negative here? Where have I said you dont get good racing without passing? All I said was about passing being at a premium, which is fact! Thank you AM, I appreciate your comments. I say what I see and that doesnt sit well with certain posters, Memo to self: Must ask Lewy if I can comment, as he always seems to think he is right and everyone else wrong. Second thoughts, not ruddy likely!

  46. PETERBOROUGH have moved to update fans on their admission policy ahead of tonight's eagerly awaited clash with Belle Vue at the Showground. The club would still prefer fans to buy in advance via the link on the homepage of the club's website. However, there remains the option to pay on the gate but this will mean slower admission than those with advance tickets.Club owner Keith Chapman said: "We've been getting a lot of enquiries about the admission policy from today so we feel it appropriate to issue this update."Fans are welcome to pay on the gate, but we would prefer advance orders as this speeds up the process of admission to the venue."We're looking forward to a great night of racing against Belle Vue with great weather, we need to win and I'm sure Rob Lyon will have all the boys fired up for it."

  47. It was the hose pipe today. They got away with it at one grading break when they had 2&4 in 4 consecutive heats, hence the fight back, but got caught next time round and were made to even then all out.
