Don't tell me, when you look in the window you see a reflection of KingoftheTrack looking back?13 points

When they persist in having all the major finals in October, they really do get what they deserve11 points

Toft got double figures in both A and B fixtures, the Panthers only got 5 from his rides last week. RR for Ulrich yielded just 3 points. Care to rethink your post. PS citing Tatum is a bit like using Katie Price as your expert on road traffic law.9 points

As was proven by the huge crowd at the GB/Australia Test, people will turn out in their droves to see top names they cannot expect to watch in regular action. The names of Tai and Bartoz (five World titles!) alone will pull them in, and having the rest of their nations' SON squads on parade as well is just icing on the cake. Full marks to Allied, and to Team GB for honouring their sponsorship. Can't wait!8 points

Well you are the one who bleats on here that they call off the meetings too early so cannot see what you have to moan about. They probably waited till they saw you had arrived and then called it off5 points

Unless you're Peterborough I take it, you're on the other thread saying how happy you are with the call off. You don't half spout some sh1te.5 points

The sport in this country would be better off with no tv coverage at all, it’s descended into a made for tv sport with the live fan very much second in the thoughts. TV was responsible for the tactical ride and the play offs, gimmicks designed to turn it into something artificially closer, never mind who the better team or rider was. Also the only reason why these meetings now run into October is because of TV, everything should be done and dusted before October. TV was supposed to help the sport, not aid it’s demise.5 points

T V has changed the top tiers sports schedule whereas in years gone by the sport and the meetings dictated the result rather than contrived fixtures. How can you seriously believe that a club who is fourth at the end of the league campaign meaning each team has raced against each other once or twice can then become champions because of the schedule and a change in rider averages which coincides with the play offs. Important meetings took place in October but that was after a full summer of racing, not the intermittent fixture list that exists today. The point is that with six teams in a league and not twelve or more, the sport should not be in a position of holding play offs in October. Yes I can remember meetings going to the wire in late October but not with a piss poor league of six clubs.4 points

We had 3 times as many teams in the league back in 1965 and it was well run. Plenty of time for non- league meetings too.4 points

The track at Sheffield looked worse than Peterborough’s and they are still trying to get that on. The sky looked clear as well at Peterborough so didn’t look like there would be any rain for a good while - so you have to question why they didn’t try harder to get it on IMHO4 points

This is the kind of meeting, British Speedway needs at this moment in time. Congrats to Glasgow for pulling it off. Up Team Gb!4 points

Can't see that happening. I think we should make the league winners champions4 points

You've used R/R most the season for a rider who got his average from riding at reserve, I'd say you've been very fortunate with injuries so far this season.4 points

And this year, thankfully, there is no chance of cheating Pirtaes being in the final.4 points

The four Poles qualified, only one Brit did. Bewley is one of my favourite riders, but he doesn't deserve a WC for next year. Maybe ready in 2024?4 points

They are Trees but during the peak of summer we hardly have any meetings, hence they have to be all crammed into the final month where it’s often cold and wet.4 points

If it had been watched by enough people Sky would have kept it going as the advertisers alone would have been happy for them to continue with it... And if tracks had some kind of covers to increase their chances of running, rather than calling off meetings on 'damp but raceable' ' nights, I am sure Sky would have been more inclined to keep the contract open. As it stood, it cost them a lot of money to take all their kit to a track, set up, and have nothing to broadcast.. Bottom line is UK Speedway had 'the cream of the crop' over here and each top league track got over £100k a year for a long, long time, (literally tens of millions was put into the sport), and when the contract ended UK Speedway wasn't any better at all for all that money they had received... And that is simply rank incompetence...4 points

Track covers can actually do more harm than good. They'll essentially make the track "sweat" and bring all the underground moisture to the surface. Once the covers come off and the track is open to the elements, that water will make the top surface like glass. I understand people think that covers keep the rain off the track which they do, but the underground moisture is just a big an issue than rain water.3 points

Remember you were told last season that there would be 2 Rising Stars in teams this year going forward so you will get 4 Stars which will allow for maximum combinations of a 3 + 1 Star or a 2 + 2 Star at reserve if you max out your Star ration.. After all it would be daft to stick in two 1 Star Reserves you may as well use up your star ration to the full... That will leave a figure to be chosen for the team building of the top 5 which due to the shortage of riders last season might be to a maximum of 35 but could be as low as 32 or even 30 for the Championship... The NDL will change possibly to clubs 2nd teams only so I am not sure where that will leave Mildenhall and the IOW (If they come back) and anyone else who thinks they could drop down into this league and thinking of Brum and Eastie here who have done this in the past or Oxford and Bradford if they were to come back and that is purely down to rider availability...Just personal thought that one though... Top league will be ok with the Super 6 but I would like to see a couple more added to this for a league of 8 or even 10 but cant see it happening somehow and let them build to 45 points so they can be as strong as possible... So 5 Stars for their reserves and 40 points for the 1 to 5... Finally I have been reading about this new Glasgow proposal that will be put forward by Michael Max amongst others which knowing Michael will be well thought out and lets face it could it be any worse than what we have at the minute with this rising star thing; looking forward to hearing more about this proposal and seeing how far it gets... lets hope its a winner. Whilst you are probably right that the numbers coming through is probably a little bit down (even basic maths of less tracks, less track time equals less riders developing through the sport) lowering the bar certainly hasn't and shouldn't be the answer. Riders need to be good enough to achieve team places not gain them because they are "young with potential" how about young and proven or just proven to be at a higher ability. Making concessions for age and lowering team averages has done immense harm to the league this year yet there are still riders who haven't improved upon the base signing 3.00 despite the lower limit meaning that natural inflation should have occurred across the board.3 points

It was a devastating crash. Like Forever blue it happened directing in front of me. Poole needed a 5-1 in heat 15 to win with Darcy and Chris. Ward led but entering lap 2 Chris had gone on the outside of a Coventry rider and slipped in behind Darcy as they entered the first bend. But Chris clipped Darcys back wheel, straightened toward the fence and ploughed in. To make matters far worse, the bike hit the airfence which lifted and Chris at high speed went straight underneath it hitting the Armco. Badly broken bones and months out from which he never fully recovered his previous form to this day.3 points

Who are Glasgow meeting in the playoffs? They are still waiting to find out who their opponents will be! Similarly they have been waiting since the summer to find out their semi final ko Cup opponents thanks to Birmingham cancelling their fixture with Edinburgh at short notice. Finally the GB meeting is being held on a night that is not their normal or alternative race night. Get a life!3 points

Completely disagree with that.. actually your talking absolute crap..Ully was in the form of his life beating everyone and your saying we were lucky he got injured?...and now this...whats your name Nigel Pearson?3 points

Not sure I’d be signing too many more riders without knowing the league structure and who will run.3 points

Vaculik will get a pick because he is in the top 10-12 riders in the world, not because he is Slovakian. The only way imo he wouldn't get a pick would be if he was Polish.3 points

The purist who only sees league racing and refuses to support the speedway as a spectacle has killed off these meetings because no club will risk putting on racing as opposed to league meetings yet if you have an international meeting many speedway fans may well travel to see riders not plying their trade in the domestic league. The fickle fan and the fickle rider are the root cause are one of the reasons why Speedway is on its knees in this country2 points

It's obvious that they'll have at least one camera there, they even used it to show us the tractor work, I would've been happy to watch a single camera showing of the match at Sheffield, Dave Rowe will be there and is a more than competent commentator, it could have been done quite easily and most of us would have appreciated their efforts for doing it.2 points

It seems that you want riders in "on merit", so I assume you want as close to the Top 15 as is possible? So, how many riders NOT in the GP's would have made five semi-finals this year? Which is what Lambert did...2 points

Why does Kinsley always get mentioned it's clear even before his stuff got nicked his performances for Redcar he's not good enough for middle tier racing he's a NDL rider at best2 points

Using this season's rules/team limits (Which I know won't be the same next year) This fits... I haven't accounted for a 2.5% reduction for Jordan and the averages aren't final, but it's interesting to see what is possible... Also, if you wanted Dan Gilkes at reserve, swap Josh for Ryan Kinsley (3.00) and then you could have up to a 3 Star reserve, which I believe Dan will be next season 1. Ryan Douglas 8.04 2. Simon Lambert 5.98 3. Jake Allen 7.72 4. Jordan Palin 5.84 5. Thomas Jorgensen 7.28 6. Josh MacDonald 4.00 7. 2 Star Reserve (Not Dan Gilkes)2 points

Archie is a young 16/17 year old raw talent and a local Geordie rider who has mascotted and loved the club since a very young age... I remember Archie back into 2010!! When Kenni Larsen was around, must have made him 5 years old? We have watched him before and after most meetings over the years, practising and racing in the NJL and watched him develop as a rider. Last season was very tough for young Archie, however, towards the end of the season he was getting very close to the backs of the riders in front of him, and he had a lot of bad luck along the way, falls, bike failures etc... I honestly believe, if we can build a very strong team around him, give him absolutely 0 pressure, that he could be flying by the end of next season. He's basically Newcastle speedway's child... I do however, think he needs to work on his gating (which was noticeably better by the end of the season) and his anger (which understandably I guess, came out a few times last year too) Archie is a good little prospect who could be very good within the next 3 or 4 years... Same goes for Danny Smith, on a slightly lesser scale, we need to utilise him, if we haven't already lost him? Another rider who has impressed me, considering how little time he has ridden the 500s, is Jack Shimelt, already a quick looking rider around Brough and he's only been at it this year? As far as I can tell, another rider to keep an eye out for in the future...2 points

Wolves rode the 2017 final without Freddie Lindgren and Jacob Thorsell, who I respectfully suggest are a better combined package than MPT & Ostergaard. We won away at Swindon and lost at home, losing overall by 1 point...........................................2 points

Yes I know, and the Eastbourne and Birmingham teams were brilliant to watch, we need more national league teams like that to help back the new blood coming through... And help support some of the middle order CL riders who are maybe down on form a little like Ashley Morris, would be a good racer to follow for the new, inexperienced kids to learn a lot from... I agree that the standard of the NL needs to be raised, however, there isn't as many talents coming through now (14-15-16 year olds) as there was 5/6 years ago unfortunately2 points

People need to calm down, the team panthers are tracking tonight is good enough to win a home meeting.2 points

Thanks for the feedback, it certainly helps! In terms of following the closer battle, it's so hard at the MPA! One heat last night there were two battles going on front and back, some distance apart! I think Josh should be to blame for going out of shot, noone should be riding that wide and getting away with it2 points

Rather Panthers made it through. Don’t want a tricky little track in a final.2 points

Originally the play-offs were due to start on September 17th. That would have been plenty of time. The quarter-finals could have been held that weekend, the semi-finals the weekend after and now only the finals would be left to go in (the always) rainy October!2 points
