Outrageous, how dare the FIM make all the sensible picks just as we predicted leaving us nothing to whinge about. Shocked! PS Kubera, J Holder, Bewley, Chugunov and Miskowiak for my preferred reserve list.9 points

For me, that makes sense if the latter stages of the GP qualification system took place after the GP series had finished. How about this. The primary qualification could take place alongside the GP series with no current GP riders involved. This could result in the top 9 going through to be joined by the bottom 7 from the current series after the last GP. These 16 would then compete in the GP Challenge (what a meeting!). The top 6 from this go through to be joined by 1 wildcard. You can argue about the numbers but the philosophy of how riders would qualify, for me, would be very fair. The also rans from this year get a last chance and a significant number of new riders get an opportunity as well. And as a real bonus you don't get any current GP riders, qualifying for next year half way through this year's series (with the possible exception of the SEC champion).5 points

It’s because the TV were there, if it wasn’t live on TV then it would have likely been called off after the 5pm cloudburst. Of course then we would have likely had complaints from someone we had called it off to early !!!!4 points

will ask to see if we can get somewhere in between just to help you both out lol3 points

There are not many “Top” riders that could jump ship,or they would be there already.3 points

Unless one is in with a chance of the top 3 finish, why bust a gut striving for 6th. place, when the 6 below you get picked anyway. I agree Kubera should have got a place... does it really matter how many Poles or how few British?. Was anyone else even considered or were the wildcards decided long ago?.3 points

Eurosport really fkd up last night tbh no plan b to televise the other meeting in case of a rain off and there was a camera at Sheff!3 points

Both Lahti & Becker rode in the qualification rounds so had 9 & 8 rides to their credit prior to the 6 lap final. Jack holder was also involved in the opening rounds but was unbeaten until the semi finals. Dudek & Doyle were by far the best on the day & rightly took the top two steps. Doyle wanted to be the first to take four victories on the trot but it was not to be. This is a fantastic event for which the Pardubice club deserve huge credit for their organisation in bringing all these competitors together for a full weekend of speedway & flat track in all the events a total of 99 race jackets had to be filled for 4 events over 3 days.3 points

We had 3 times as many teams in the league back in 1965 and it was well run. Plenty of time for non- league meetings too.3 points

Don’t bemoan an attractive meeting - live speedway at your track. On behalf of speedway fans from Coventry, Eastbourne, Birmingham, Newcastle, Arena Essex, etc etc3 points

what about Vaculik - he got his 4th nomination within 5 years (same as Harris, Nicholls, Lindgren in the past) - he was injured this year, but probably wouldn't have reached the top 6 anyway but if you cannot get a place in the top 6 (or 8) more than once within 5 years are you stll rated as a world championship challenger??2 points

It's a shame the Development Leagues were destroyed for the Premier Junior League, which never happened2 points

Because the whole TV costs for getting there/setting up run into thousands !! and they had to give it every chance however slim2 points

That's true and we can play the examples game all day. The nutjob's point was that "but if it is raining in one part of Peterborough, it is likely to be raining in another part of Peterborough" and although it's not necessarily so as you put it, over the years as a local it is on balance he's more often right than not. Saturday for example I sat at Posh. It absolutely tipped it down in town centre for hours. I doubt that the EoES missed any of that which would have left the track pretty well sodden and not requiring anything more than a light shower on Monday. I sat at home working yesterday at 5pm and it was tipping down. Someone later posted "Unfortunately the downpour at 5.00 was the killer blow" which was at the EoES miles away on the other side of Peterborough. So from a generic point of view you were right but in terms of Peterborough rain and the speedway I had to side with KSF on this occasion.2 points

6 man teams...the 5 SoN squad members from each Nation, so 1 rider needed on each side. What are the chances that it'll be Glasgow riders added? Cook for GB and Nowak for Poland?2 points

Common sense would say his season is over and he should be working his way back to full fitness over the winter months. I for one would have him back in the team for 2022.2 points

It seems that you want riders in "on merit", so I assume you want as close to the Top 15 as is possible? So, how many riders NOT in the GP's would have made five semi-finals this year? Which is what Lambert did...2 points

Remember you were told last season that there would be 2 Rising Stars in teams this year going forward so you will get 4 Stars which will allow for maximum combinations of a 3 + 1 Star or a 2 + 2 Star at reserve if you max out your Star ration.. After all it would be daft to stick in two 1 Star Reserves you may as well use up your star ration to the full... That will leave a figure to be chosen for the team building of the top 5 which due to the shortage of riders last season might be to a maximum of 35 but could be as low as 32 or even 30 for the Championship... The NDL will change possibly to clubs 2nd teams only so I am not sure where that will leave Mildenhall and the IOW (If they come back) and anyone else who thinks they could drop down into this league and thinking of Brum and Eastie here who have done this in the past or Oxford and Bradford if they were to come back and that is purely down to rider availability...Just personal thought that one though... Top league will be ok with the Super 6 but I would like to see a couple more added to this for a league of 8 or even 10 but cant see it happening somehow and let them build to 45 points so they can be as strong as possible... So 5 Stars for their reserves and 40 points for the 1 to 5... Finally I have been reading about this new Glasgow proposal that will be put forward by Michael Max amongst others which knowing Michael will be well thought out and lets face it could it be any worse than what we have at the minute with this rising star thing; looking forward to hearing more about this proposal and seeing how far it gets... lets hope its a winner. I've been saying more or less the same for years GP Challenge after the last GP, under the new points system where its all about qualifying for the Semi's you have riders in the mix who won't go for that gap as they don't need to as they've already qualified for the following season.1 point

Good luck with any help anyone can offer to keep the Diamonds going beyond next season. Newcastle are my second team now, & I will be coming to Brough Park next season to support them at least a couple of times. Let's hope THJ is up for a few drinks.1 point

A World Championship SHOULD feature the best competitors in the World. The US Open is just that - an "open event". As with many other sports (like darts, the World Cup, and many others), the speedway World Championship is a much smaller field, supposedly featuring the elite. As long as there are opportunities to qualify for the World Championship, that's fine. If the same names keep qualifying (and qualify on merit) then the others have to work harder and up their game. The World Championship is not - and should not be - a line-up chosen by the fans.1 point

Ashley used to live just down the road from me...a right tearaway apparently! Andersson was a real white line rider...rarely ventured into the dirt.1 point

Don't remember Chris being like that tbh! Not the best at team riding in his early days, a lot of other riders complained about that!1 point

Terrific rider but could have achieved so much more if had contained his off track addictions which eventually caught up with him...but that was Kelly!1 point

If they fall on their own they should be excluded. All 4 back is supposed to be for 'first bend bunching.'1 point

I feel the main problem here is that , if it was clear that the track was unsuitable for racing at 5.30 why wasn't it cancelled then, it appears that nearly everybody that intended to go had arrived before it was cancelled.1 point

Easy it happens in loads of sports and is accepted by the modern fan with no problem at all as the rules are known before hand .. only oap's who are stuck in a time warp cant understand or accept it . Yet again to show how stupid your point is the Pl has no Tv coverage but still has play offs and is still running in oct ... at the end of the day your just the standard old fan who wants no play offs want a one off world final wants to bring back the a Golden Helmet and to bring back second halfs etc1 point

Talking of streaming I remember Bet365 you could watch races and with no commentary and just raw sound from stadium it worked well I enjoyed it1 point

Don't know why it took them over an hour to decide the track was waterlogged! Wasted trip from Leicester and cancelled just as I got there. Not happy!1 point

If the track is prepared and raceable, I don’t really care if I watch the Tigers or anyone else round Ashfield. I’ll gladly pay my money and watch, because it’s always an entertaining track. Though it would be nice to see four more home matches for the Tigers…1 point

As was proven by the huge crowd at the GB/Australia Test, people will turn out in their droves to see top names they cannot expect to watch in regular action. The names of Tai and Bartoz (five World titles!) alone will pull them in, and having the rest of their nations' SON squads on parade as well is just icing on the cake. Full marks to Allied, and to Team GB for honouring their sponsorship. Can't wait!1 point

Replays and interviews are almost good to go, I definitely think they're needed additions too. Really helpful feedback though, I appreciate that!1 point

How are you going to fit 30 to 40 thousand fans in the NSS?1 point

Watched this on the live stream an it was a very enjoyable match. Riders missing on both sides but those there gave 100% effort. Kent more affected by missing riders but this was evened up by George Rothery's machine problems all night until he finally came out on borrowed machinery to win his last heat. There was heavy rain early on but these NDL lads just got on with it. For the Devils Danny and Tom were rock solid but I've been very impressed with the improvement in both the Millar boys this season - especially Gregor. This is exactly what this league is supposed to do. For Kent, Alex Spooner and Vinnie Foord caught the eye with battling and skilful performances.1 point

Have to agree there. Custom House was much more imposing, and not only looked like a proper stadium (concrete and corrugated iron), it FELT like a proper stadium...1 point
