That sounds a great recipe for some proper good racing. As we know,, it's all about having the room for different lines entering the bends,, and room enough for getting out of them with riders next to each other. I am so looking forward to visiting this track when is up and running.5 points

Salt of the earth, Comets fans. Used to love a Saturday evening at Derwent Park then down to the Persian restaurant on Clay Flatts after.3 points

You could say this for most, if not all the tracks in the country. 99.9% of fans are fine and you can have a decent conversation with them and enjoy the banter, but you still have that 0.1% who (usually) have "one over the eight" and cause you grief. Rather than cause trouble, unfortunately, the only option is for you to move to another part of the track. I must say though in all the years of travelling away to support the Diamonds, it's never come to that, but I know it's happened to others, even at Brough Park.3 points

I shan't set foot on the STMP again. In 50 years of watching speedway it's the only place I've felt uncomfortable, especially with my daughter. I don't go anywhere to be heckled by idiots, and as Redcar is the only place that has happened, I'll give it a miss.3 points

and that’s Poole’s fault ? Quite a few teams have the same, it’s a dog eat dog sport and the Birmingham promotion have enough experience to know that. Newcastle aren’t exactly over loaded with top riders either.2 points

Because he needs his head examined. He was about as popular as a fart in a space suit with his team ‘ mates ‘.2 points

How much does it cost for public liability cover, and the increased stewarding cover now required for all "public events"?2 points

I think it is why he got dropped that is the issue! Skidder1 and Trackerman48 know the most about it.2 points

GiveusaB it will not be Kelleeher but I think that will be the best thing to be honest with some of the things riders have said about him.2 points

Before the lockdowns, we used to stand in the 2nd temporary stand with some Redcar supporters and had some great 'debates' and laughs together. Usually stand in the gap in front of the refreshments bar now, and that's because we meet other Diamonds fans and with Bears fans. Usually if you give it back respectfully, you can get a great atmosphere. I feel quite at home at Redcar, but last year we had someone cleaning the refs windows during a meeting, now there's a first. Wonder who he was ?2 points

Really? That's a very bizarre comment to make! I'm still on here, despite Wimbledon closing. So is iris123. And cityrebel. And Robbie B. Come to think of it, MOST of us who are on here have lost our tracks, yet it's no cause for us to leave the BSF.2 points

Interesting news this morning, a few of the Championship clubs run their own streaming already. Hopefully this new network is a collaborative effort.1 point

Surely everybody will wish this to be the case. Can't imagine opening night without Hans in attendance hopefully maybe even ride the first lap.1 point

Apparently Hans Nielsen will be making an appearance? Will certainly help raise the profile of the sport returning to Cowley.1 point

While he was at Plymouth he was always good value imo unlike his most experienced team mate who certainly wasn't. I had a good insight to what happened in the pits and on track at Plymouth. If Plymouth need any injury replacements I wouldn't be at all surprised to see them bring him in.1 point

As topic title. This is great news! CHAMPIONSHIP STREAMING GOES LIVE! - Thursday, January 27, 2022 (britishspeedway.co.uk)1 point

Don't think that was the case at Plymouth at all. He always gives 100% and certainly isn't afraid to get stuck in.1 point

The point is that the club now have to pay for all sorts of 'extras' that previously were included in their rental. From a cost perspective any practice is treated as the whole stadium being in use - and stewarded!!!!1 point

So the BIG question will be... which team will be the first to announce who it's 7 riders are? The Coventry Bees or the Birmingham Brummies?1 point

Speedway Star interview with Ben Duffil says either seasonal subscription or a pay-per-view option for single meetings, as l read it. Presume tracks like Edinburgh, Glasgow and Redcar will continue to stream all their meetings, independently from this new service.1 point

Always liked Kenny... Seemed to get a rep as a bit of a "gating tart" early in his career but having watched him often both here and in Poland he can certainly mix it and pass, both inside and out... Always well turned out and professional too.. Takes many a "top scalp" in Poland regularly, so wouldnt let the Aces down if he ends up going there, and would provide more solid back up for Fricke than Kurtz will I would suggest..1 point

Strange, you was only asking for an update a couple of days ago. Do you think something has happened in the meantime ?1 point

Same with very many Dons supporters. Maybe if John Hyam wasn't banned from one or two Dons groups he would know better1 point

He's not exactly young though, think he's 29 next week. I'd imagine if he were going to change he would have done so by now. Who knows1 point

He's still got time to change though. Let's hope so if it affects his career.1 point

I’m not sure that’s going to be the case. I subscribe to Eurosport just for the Speedway and my team has never featured in there. I suspect that will be the case for a lot of speedway fans who are not necessarily supporters of a Premiership club.1 point

Not if it's another substandard Dane whose domestic commitments will mainly be Division 1 matches on a Saturday (like Agertoft)1 point

Great idea watched a few live streams last season means supporters can watch their team away from home if it's to far to travel.1 point

298 metres and the same width as Belle Vue on the straights and the bends with an 8% camber on each bend... Regards THJ1 point

Not that it's really an anecdote, but it was about 1989 or 90, and I had just got on a cross-channel ferry to go to France. I parked the car, and I was just getting out when I heard, "Are you a speedway fan?" I looked round, and it was Sandor! He saw the stickers in my back window. We had a little chat, and that was the last time I ever saw him...1 point

Bjerre would be a better signing than Woffinden. He would be more committed and is a better trapper. Bjerre is fondly remembered in Peterborough, some Panthers fans even used to call him "King Kenneth".1 point

That makes the event less attractive. Places would be empty if there's meetings where the No2/No4 & No6 race. . It has to be fixed to be a pairing from the top 3 in the team averages otherwise there's just going to be no interest at all to attend.1 point

Spot on assessment mate and a rider and family who are 100% committed. Well deserved in my opinion1 point

Why do you do this John, you answer your own question with an article YOU wrote....... You really do ask for some of the "Flak" you get.1 point

What they are doing on the island is fantastic. Yes I agree I to would like to see IoW back in NDL but if the current owners cannot agree with the politics then this is their best option. I may not enjoy grass bikes or Flat track machines on a speedway track but I see the business plan in that this allows access to more competitors it is a system that has worked across the world of motorcycle racing. In Australia NZ USA & SA all different types & standards will come together to produce the whole event & nobody can argue that anything upto 50 races is better value than 15 no matter what standard or discipline.1 point

I remember seeing 3 Norwegians in the wasps colours ed strangleland, einar egedius & reidar eide. Ed was a entertaining rider from my memory, einar I think married a Newport girl but it was reidar who I remember most fondly he was in I believe the best team Newport ever had in 1975 he also rode in 73 & 74. One race inparticurlrly recall is a golden helmet race against ole Olsen I think in 73 where he brought the house down at Somerton park by blasting by ole to lift the helmet, great days.1 point
