  2. This is where i believe speedway promoters/managers get it all wrong. I am pretty much a lapsed fan these days as my club isn't running ( at the moment), but I do still attend occasionally. When the Bees were running I travelled far & wide to support them & like many fans experienced more than my fair share of incomplete meetings, but I never worried because I knew that I would get a fair deal on a re- admission ticket. I read on here what had happened at Brum & saw how much fans were being charged for 2 completed races I was "gobsmacked" to say the least. If those re-entry conditions are going to be applied at all tracks then it will certainly make me stop & think whether I wish to take the chance particularly if clubs continue to run with inadequate medical cover for such situations. I know Birmingham have reacted to their situation re ambulances & medics, perhaps they should now do the honourable thing & ensure the paying fans aren't " hit in the pocket " for the clubs shortcomings. As for Laurence Rogers posting what he did , perhaps he should consider that there are many people who either attend occasionally or have haven't been for some time but still show enough interest to read this forum that aren't going to be persuaded to turn up if they are going to get exploited , having a go at someone because they post something negative doesn't help Out of interest I attended a meeting at Berwick at the end of last season & I do understand what a long journey that is to the midlands & then back home for two races.

  6. A shame Belle Vue didn't do this when it mattered. The Panthers experience will come into play during the pressure meetings in the play-offs.

  7. The problem with extra medical care might mean that some speedway promotion may not be able to afford the extra cover. And the only stipulation is that you need to provide one ambulance and one paramedic I get that, but if that is the case then Promoters really need to look at what they do about making refunds for meeting that are not completed. If the meeting at Birmingham goes ahead on Wednesday and an adult fans has gone all three meeting that have started this season, that fan will have paid £46 for 27 completed heats. I myself this season have attended one meeting at Sheffield and the Ben Fund at Peterborough and paid £39 for 37 completed heats. That is a vast difference in value for money, and in this day and age where there is a credit crunch and money is tight there will be many fans that could well turn their backs on the sport. All speedway Promoters need to think really hard about these kind of situations and how they deal with them. Unfortunately Mr Rodgers response is a typical response of some the Promoters running clubs at the moment. And if that makes me Keyboard Warrior, then I will wear my badge with pride.

  8. Continuing to repeat this particular comment does you no credit Phil We know you have knowledge and contacts and many look to your input as an important gauge of fact or fiction in certain situations Smug trolling is beneath you

  9. I keep mentioning product and as a neutral there's nothing here to inspire me. The truth is the sport has moved on and the small technical tracks are no longer fit for purpose as it's all about building speed and momentum nowadays. Whether you like it or not. If you're going to have so few tracks in the flagship competition you really should make sure they provide the best entertainment. Shame for Wolves which looks like a nice facility but if it's not producing entertainment it's just damaging the product.

  12. Track can’t have been that bad as Wells and Harris scored double the points they did when guesting for the Diamonds. Had they scored those points then, the Diamonds would likely have two more home wins.

  13. Pretty sure the rule says start of the season, is the league cup not part of the season? If you’re going to quote rules make sure you get them correct or how can anyone take you seriously.

  14. What a day that was. That was the best team Performance I’ve seen in a long time. It’s actually the biggest aces score in the NSS history (not including colts) sometimes it’s easy to say it was because Peterborough were so poor but I honestly think it was just that belle Vue we’re so good. The gating. The passing. The speed. The atmosphere. The team did everything right. I’ve not felt a crowd like that in a long time. Before during and after there was a real buzz. special mention to Brady on his first aces max and what a way to achieve it. Brilliant pass of MPT

  16. To be fair if there is fuss it's from others, I haven't come across a Stars supporter yet who has got carried away as every meeting so far has been against teams with at least one rider missing. We could get tonked tonight as we rarely go well at Wolves for whatever reason so a point would be great although I'm sure Alex and the team are going there to win.

  18. To answer some of the comments on here, there was 20 tons of new shale laid on the track and it will take a while to settle. at a recent grasstrack meeting they had two ambulances in attendance and thet cost £3,600!! That's a massive outlay when you're working on tight margins, admittedly the delays are very frustrating but the non availability of NHS ambulances is making the situation worse, remember, two meetings have been abandoned already this season because of the 6-8 hour delay in getting a county ambulance.

  19. A lot of riders have immense respect for Mr May but you have to remember he is employed by Plymouth to make his team win matches and that means using all your resources. If Middlo wasn't Poole team manager I'd have Garry in a shot.

  21. With the greatest of respect in a tight meeting which Tuesday was and we were trying to stop the scorpions getting a point surely you have to put the reserve in who is doing better on the night and that was dan. I like Henry a hell of a lot but if that is the only reason he is quitting then I find it quite staggering to be honest. Maybe there is more to it than we no only one person knows that and that’s Henry.

  25. Massive loss just isn’t the same is it? As someone else just said, Tatum, Louis and Crump all very similar and any of them are fine as a sidekick analyser, but the coverage desperately needs a lead specialist commentator.

  26. it is boring but no more so than Poland vs ROW this afternoon. just goes to show you don't know what you've got 'til it's gone. Pearson was polishing turds like this for years. Like Crumpie as a pundit but too similar to Kelv/Louis.

  27. Would think majority of guests are on at least a guarantee + maybe a bonus for points over. Most Heat leaders will take the easy points while guesting without risking too much.Hiding too nothing from the fans being a guest ,rider in a no win situation.IMO

  28. The silencer was ruled illegal when examined after the race, so the complaint was valid. However although the referee agreed it was illegal when he visited the pits, it couldnt be proved the damage occurred before or during the race, so no case could be answered. Even if it had been thrown out, Berwick would still lose 45-44, so no point in taking it further

  29. Indeed.. I suppose you cant say "for those watching Speedway for the first time it isnt usually this boring, and there are a fair few tracks that deliver much better racing".. Not many would pick Wolves to do an "advert" for the sport would they?

  35. We can make up our own rules as we go along like Belle Vue Rules are made to be broken Swapping Hans Andersen for Cameron Heeps is like swapping a Full English Breakfast for a bowl of Porridge.

  38. I find it funny that the bspa have agreed to this change and yet fans can’t accept it. What’s not to accept????? belle Vue haven’t cheated anything, so while the fans think we have I will be smug until this is all forgotten about

  39. Think the swapping and the way the rides are split up should be looked at. No.7 meets an opposition reserve every time No.6 just twice. Surely first up a 3 / 3 split would be fairer and secondly the switches should be for legitimate cover reasons and not just tactical. Teams would then have to build and help both reserves rather than just one and the other being included just to complete a 7 man side.

  42. Good crowd,,excellent prepared track ,and some pretty decent racing for this level ..Kent have a decent side and as someone has already said there are a couple of riders that need to improve but most sides have the same problem..Mildenhall are one of the strongest sides in the league so on this showing i would expect Kent to be up there as well ,,Looking forward to the rest of the season,,considering the limited facilities they have at Iwade they are doing a good job in putting on an enjoyable afternoons racing...

  45. What a shambles of a day that was. Burger van ridiculously expensive for the poor stuff you were given, 1 ambulance to save Granty some money and mug the fans off, Congreve having delayed concussion just in time for when Newcastle were struggling and couldn’t afford a last place. Track is an absolute disgrace and not a single rider looked comfortable on it. The Berwick juniors refused to ride on it because of how poorly prepared it was, on the advice of the senior riders, lucky if there was about 400 Newcastle fans there as well, saw more Berwick merch than Newcastle

Yeah,I'm one of them that doesn't attend anymore(but never used to miss a meeting home or away until Tony Mole gave it all up).I don't find fault or moan on here regarding Birmingham Speedway as i don't attend but know when you're taking the p i s s I think many comments on this thread are from loyal speedway supporters not folk who stay at home wanting to find fault or moaning

  49. Went along today. Good crowd tbh I don't think many more good get in there and all get a good view. Alfie was a class above, I wonder what happened to make him miss the two minutes in the vital heat 15? One thing I love about Iwade is how close you get to the racing, ...no greyhound track. One gripe, there seemed to be a long gap before the second half racing. Si deserves a lot of credit for getting this off the ground & deserves support.
