  1. I have never read such crap come out of a keyboard warrior as I have reading all these comments. You are all just total nasty people. Nothing Newcastle speedway does is good enough for anyone on this forum. They could be the best but they would still not be good enough for you all. If your not slagging the track it’s the management or it’s the riders or it’s the day they ride and even the volunteer staff have been called. Just pure nastiness. It’s not even freedom of speech or entitled to your opinion chat it’s just pure slagging then off for the fun of it Well I’ve had my rant and I’m sure I’ll get nasty comments back but as you all say I’m entitled to my opinion and that’s mine

  2. I think you will find Ellis is blameless. Offered a 28 day contract which he honoured plus some. His schedule doesn’t allow for championship once all his other leagues start. he got you out of a muddle in my opinion. It was the promotion who were economical with the truth that caused the fuss.

  4. Totally agree about the BSN stream first time I’ve used last night paid £42 for 5 meetings is great value- streaming meetings is definitely the way forward for clubs a seasons pass for our fav clubs would be a great idea - with the cost of admission and travel costs and everything else going up in price watching from home is a great option . That said can’t beat attending any sport live .

  5. Think you’re missing the point of team sports, the danger aspect is irrelevant , speedway is and has always been a team sport on bikes not a motorcycle sport, hence bikers don’t really go to watch, speedway should be like football or rugby, it is territorial, poland is a classic example of this, the fans support their team and don’t support any other speedway except the GPs in great numbers, they are passionate about their own town/club like football over here

  6. Its awful isn't it, what has this world become?,,, best of luck to Kyle, am sure it will do his confidence the world of good,,, securing a place in a team that no one else wants to ride for?

  7. Where he gets big, round scores every week... Speaking of which... Look at Skorja

  8. Kyle also, Ishould remind folk, scored an impressive 7+2on his last visit, so we know he can do it at ourplace. This made me laugh!!! Pretty much every away rider has scored well!! Mainly because the home riders are awful

  10. Another example of the shambolic position the sport in GB finds itself in

  11. Don't believe everything you read on the internet, after all speedway fans and even more so, promoters and managers are such a reliable source of information

  12. Killing team sport using my home town wolves as an example Sam masters rides for Edinburgh .Nick morris rides for Leicester. Ryan Douglas rides for Scunthorpe Steve Worral rides for Poole. Drew kemp rides for Poole .leon flint rides for Berwick, only Luke Becker rides only for wolves, right there is why team speedway has died in Britain, how is anyone new to the sport supposed to follow their club when it’s just a glorified swingers club, speedway has many other issues as why it is dying but as far as team speedway goes this has killed the team concept

  13. Do people criticising Gary's speech know he has facial paralysis which affects his speech?

  14. Because the track was well prepared prior to the meeting so it didn’t need it, meaning the meeting was done in 1hr and 20 minutes including a few re runs !

  15. If it was down to me I'd make every rider do a victory lap after winning a race, it beats watching the tractor go around the track. It also amazes me how many people in the crowd don't applaud a rider when they do come round on a victory lap... they're often too busy filling their programmes in!

  20. Speedway is an added extra to Foxhalls owners. There's plenty of moaning from the car brigade that the shale ruins the outside track. Best thing would be for Guy Nicholls to build a new track on some land locally and stop using Foxhall.... But build it like Redcar or Somerset.... not Leicester.

  22. I see the standard statement we are positive about riding next season has been dug out again. Zzzzz.. How about some answers to why the work has stopped etc what the local mp etc is doing etc etc. Can't wait to November after we get done over again.Dont tell me we are positive about riding in 2024 and all the riders are as keen as mustard to ride for us. .

  24. The last showing on Eurosport - British Speedway's shop window - had an interview at the end of the meeting with Ipswich captain Danny King - then, in the championship round-up, had an interview with Poole captain Danny King! Explain that to a casual sport fan, whilst retaining some credibility? It's been necessary due to lack of riders but the extent of the doubling up has to end

  25. I just had a look... From Dale, “It’s a tough one for us at the moment, but we do believe and understand that this rule will be changed for next year." Next year . Time to get ruthless.. King's Lynn Pirates

  27. I should imagine the Poles noted that a couple of weeks ago NKI rode Monday England Tuesday Sweden Wednesday Denmark Thursday England and thought hello that`s Poland and 3 other NOT 2 - we are not having that !! and took action.

  28. What’s the point in the rising star being forced to be used? Fair enough have them on stand by in case of injuries but it’s a stupid decision to have them be forced to be used. A pairs meeting… where you have to use 3 riders

  29. Well, maybe they're still looking for 'press officer',,, or is it a case of everyone needing to be spoon fed, is it too hard to work things out yourself? It'll all come out in the wash, some folk are so demanding these days.

  30. Once upon a time nobody got seeded. Everyone from the World Champion down started the next year from scratch. Didn’t stop Mauger winning 6, Fundin winning 5 or Briggs winning 4.

  31. Certain people in the devils side need to have a look at themselves. Team was built for certain individuals and they’re just rolling around at the back without it looks putting in much effort.

  32. The structure used to be there but the short sighted promotors ditched it. I well remember the national League running with no guests they were banned. My team Ipswich suffered Dave Norris was out injured and it cost us the chance of the league title. However in every sport injury & luck plays a part. You may disagree and think doubling up & the guest fest is ok but for every one Trees who accepts it there are 1000s who don't. I want to see this sport become successful I want to see it survive & I want to support it again. However in its current guise it does nothing for me and thousands like me.

  35. Poole will secure a top two position. They will not lose at home again and looking at their remaining away fixtures I think that a point in any of those meetings would be considered a disappointment. This all assumes that Danny King continues to deliver sub standard scores. The Pirates will be able to deal with this scenario. The crunch will be the play offs when a team built top heavy will need to have its top three delivering their averages home and away against the better teams in the league.

  41. It certainly no better these days and your point about nowhere produces consistently good racing is a valid one. Race suits, Lay Downs, Tuning and Big vans certainly look good but the tracks are abysmal most of the time, I certainly think a lot of the promoters have got it the wrong way round. The GP circus is a prime example, looks very professional until you get to the actual racing which generally is pretty non existent.

  42. Lack of preparation, the track has never been a good circuit for overtaking but yesterday it was abysmal, which for supposedly a major event was unforgivable. On a boiling hot day it needed a lot of water but the grip or lack of it was ridiculous. Doyle showed just how hard it was when he missed the gate in heat 15 and really really struggled over 4 laps to get third place, quite what lesser mortals were expected to do beggars belief. Is someone able to explain why Ipswich received inside gates for both the semi and final. Jarvis deserves criticism as well, his decision to exclude Andersen in heat 3 was laughable when it was obvious their was some contact with Lawson and some of the starts were questionable as well, some he let go and some he didn’t. As I mentioned earlier my first time using the streaming and it was excellent, it’s a real shame they cannot cover the Premiership league as I would use it every time for Peterborough aways.

  43. He did ride it in '05 '06 time. But it'll be like a new track for him now it's changed so much. Bet he won't recognise the stadium more than the track.

  44. If there is so much doubling up/down and guests etc wouldn't a big league just end up a bigger farce than two smaller ones ?

  45. Can't blame Sheffield for that! But does show a flaw in having to use a RS.

  46. 1)Would rip the tyres to shreds 2)Would create a ramp where the shale meets the tarmac 3)If a rider flipped it at the start the chance of serious injury would increase Just three reasons why not without any great effort - there is probably many more

  47. Went on a couple of occasions and the view was good but personally I thought that the racing was better at the previous stadium in Milton Keynes (Groveway)

  48. Health and Safety rules nowadays, the riders know the meeting will be re-run ,so don’t really care. Track covers been tried.IMO to labour intensive ,track still has to be prepared to a degree once removed if just bends covered ( riders not happy with dry onto wet).Major factor if raining at start time meeting will not go ahead anyway. No easy way out of the situation.Early call off probably best bet,but with riders competing all over the place finding dates to hold abandoned fixture is a headache. Thats my thoughts.

  50. Hi Ron James was my dad, he rode for Ipswich witches in the 50’s. You said he lived in your village, where was that as you seem to have known him. Sadly he’s no longer with us but he was fantastic. I know he used to take his bike on the train from London to Ipswich! Hope that helps.
