  1. Tonight wolves were at home to Kings Lynn, I live 2 miles from the track, I had nothing else to do, I was brought up a wolves fan, while I think it’s too expensive in general money is not an issue for me, I am speedways greatest fan, always have been and yet I didn’t want to go tonight,It just didn’t grab my attention enough to attend, I watched it on tv but that didn’t really stop me going either and I missed the first 3 heats as I was watching something else, it’s just not grabbing me, I can’t affiliate with a team of mercenaries who parade as my team, there is no point in having a league with teams that are filled with riders that ride for someone else, I know I am sounding like a broken record but if the sport can’t grab someone like me what chance does it have for a new audience, when I watch British speedway now I feel like I’m watching something else, on track speedway is full of bad annoying habits like starting offences, gardening, adjusting chains etc after a restart, it’s not needed it’s habit and annoying habit at that,

  2. I think Speedway is definitely split down the middle with fans of a team and fans of the sport. Team fans want continuity of riders, a bond with the club and a feeling of belonging. Sport fans want entertainment, close matches a little controversy and excitement. Rarely these days do either group get anything close to what they desire and hence the mess the sport is in.

  3. Overrated by who? He's what he's always been, a decent second division heat leader and a reasonable top flight rider. Not sure anyone expects anything different. 41 points is a lot more than I expected, we are one change away from being a half decent side but it's all academic now for this season.

  4. Great stadium, great track, competitive team and often top-drawer racing. If that can’t attract people through the turnstiles what will?. Back in to day league meetings were followed by a mini individual meeting comprising 6 riders from each team. Maybe an extra 4-7 races per meeting would give extra value for money and entice a few more to come.

  5. Don't necessarily agree with that, I think their hands have been tied by foreign commitments for those coming in, no point in using anyone over here already as it wouldn't be an improvement. The mistake was keeping both Kerr and Jorgensen in the team for this year and going with Kildemand when he is only ever one ride away from breaking bones. Changes now won't secure 4th but will keep people interested (ie no R/R or guests) and lay some foundations for 2023.

  6. Deanno, I know exactly how you feel, the BSPL are in it for there own benefit not for the benefit of Speedway in GB, when the Tuners appear to be the only ones making money from the sport apart from a few over paid riders, those at the top simply wont/cant see where its wrong for a rider to have 2/3 Teams in the same country, as for equipment costs I wont even go there.

  10. Flint is not far off that trajectory, but with riders peaking later and later it would be unwise to rule riders out (Jason Doyle was 27 by the time he met that target). However it doesn't matter that most of them never become world class, because that is simply an unrealistic expectation. What is vital is that riders like Palin, Kemp and the Thompson twins are not discouraged and keep working to improve so that at the very least we have some riders to staff our league teams in five years time.

  11. Glad you enjoyed it mate, certainly was a fun day up in them hills, sadly buxton is no more, well the track is still there and used for the ride n skid days but not for meetings anymore, I was up there last saturday and did some laps round there trying out an engine, it did get me thinking ?, maybe ? Who knows

  12. That' is the point. How many aren't interested anymore simply because the team aspect has gone. Most of us don't follow speedway because it's motorbikes; we follow it because it's a team sport. Your local track may still be there, but the lure to get you from your house to wanna go and support the local "team" isn't, because, deep inside, you don't feel it's actually a team.

  15. Steve Worrall raced in a SWC, Kyle Howarth has been involved with Team GB. If anything I think Lawson seems to get shunned a bit. He's miles better than Kerr and even he's been in the GB setup.

  16. In fairness I think most people could work out why Roynon is guesting, I think the issue is they've got him guesting for their top 3. Which is madness.

  17. With only the last 10 meetings counting for rolling averages by the time 2023 comes round I can see why Klindt would see this as an attractive little contract to adjust his currently inflated figure........

  18. And Lawson never fails to underwhelm, probably the most overrated product of British Speedway in the last 10 years.

  20. Not buying that. Lynn fans were the ones moaning last year when we were becoming champions. We got the team we all wanted barring one I wouldn't have re-signed. Hindsight is a wonderful thing. What we do know is Ostergaard, Andersen, Nicholls are finished at the top level. Harris has had a very good season as has Basso. MPT has been injured most of the season and one I'd have back but certainly not at number one. Palin, Jenkins waste of time this year.

  22. He was never asked to pay a ‘ VAT bill’ and he can’t sponsor a meeting at Newcastle because someone closed it down. As far holidays I have no doubt he had to pay for them too and I’ve no doubt the money will come out of his bank account which would have been a little healthier once he sold his part share of the Diamonds. But you obviously think differently ?

  24. Chin up guys enjoy your speedway while you still have it, finishing bottom is better than having no team.

  25. Fair play to the lads for giving it a go... But it does show that we sometimes do get a bit carried away when we have young lads coming through the NDL as heat leaders.. To reach the top you clearly need to be around HL level in Div 1 after five or six years or so (tops), of riding. Eg Woffy, Bewley, Lambert (and Brennan wont be far away from that glidepath)... Rowe seems to be doing "ok" over there, so it will be interesting to see his development upon any return to the UK he may make in the future.. Lads who after four or five years of riding are still NDL HL's/Div 2 reserves, wont be hitting the top level of the sport, unless they uniquely completely break the mould.

  29. For those paying attention speedway along with other sports is heading for the toughest period ever and it’s going to be bad, really bad and it’s not if it’s own making but I just feel speedway will just try to carry on like everything is normal and then when it hits the wall the Bspl will blame everyone but themselves, the sport is reactive,it should be proactive, reactive this time may be fatal, saying all that it’s not my money at stake

  30. The changes are now irrelevant. King's Lynn had to take the 3/4 points last night. Had Pickering & Jorgensen delivered their minimum, the 3 points would / should have been taken. We're now going to make changes just to try & not finish last, absolute jokes this management team. Imo, this Wolverhampton team is worse than ours but it looks like we just can be a$$'d to perform as a team, that comes from the management first & foremost.

  32. Discovery Entertainment + Sport £5.99 per month or £59.99 per year. if you have an Amazon Fire Stick you can download it to that, saves having to cast from a phone.

  33. I think it’s about £5.99 per month. Discovery+ is available on SkyQ but not any Sport. Have to us App on iPad or phone and you can “cast” it to a smartTV.

  34. I think generally it's £60 a year, though if you get it at the right time of year, I got mine for £30. I think you may be able to get it for around £7 per month

  39. Riders should just not be penalised for moving in my opinion, as long as you don’t touch the tapes let the race go, would cut down on a lot of re runs and late nights

  40. I’ve been both a rider and a mechanic and it’s time to ban the mechanics from the track after an unsatisfactory start, it’s annoying and unnecessary , straight back to the start

  42. Exactly. Seems Ray C is trying to be mates with Trackprat with his recent comments. Decent guests for Brum. Should be a good meeting shame we have to be there to watch it. Still think we should win this one as long as the track is ok.

  44. To redress the balance I have had numerous problems downloading the tickets to the app. I contacted the customer service and they did it for me , so I now have the tickets in my app. Not ideal but anyone struggling I would suggest contacting customer service. Buying tickets and accessing them should not be so difficult. I Use See tickets a lot and they still post some tickets and have print at home options or send you an eticket as a pdf. This ticket system could seriously have an adverse affect on the attendance at Cardiff

  48. Think you’ll find everyone finished above Leicester in 1976! Boy were we poor that year. In one meeting I recall the ambulance coming out onto the track before the start of a race! I think it was one of our newly acquired reserves (Bogh or Szczepanik, excuse the spelling) practicing a start and fell off. You couldn’t make it up. Summed up the Lions 1976 campaign, but at least it was a good summer!
