As far as I know, a temporary injury replacement has to be a 1-for-1 change. You bring in a temporary replacement with a lower average than the injured rider, and when the injured rider is back fit, he can retake his place. But that's not what Ipswich have done. They've made a redeclaration of the team, combining the averages of two outgoing riders (plus a bit that they were under the points limit) and redeclared with 2 new riders up to the points limit. It's not a 1-for-1 temporary injury replacement,. In fact Tungate's average is quite a bit higher than Riss. As for the "IRR" on the BV website, that's just a cock-up. "IRR only comes into play if a rider is injured during a meeting and withdraws. Whoever wrote that on the website hasn't a clue what they're writing.5 points

And still we wait for him to tell us who the better guests would have been...... " Kent need to be disciplined for putting out such a terrible team"..... Yet still unable to tell us who the better team would have been4 points

Too many guests? Surely, one rider from another side is too many. But when it guests to three or four... That's why speedway now is ruined, as too many riders are now trumped up guests and have more than one side. The doubling up/down rule is surely just a wheeze to operate guests for a lack of advanced planning. Watching speedway with guests is like those Top of the Pops albums in the 70s, sold as the proper thing but in which the songs weren't even covered by the proper artists.4 points

Ben failed a drugs test & will be banned so he is not losing earnings nor can he have any claim to compensation. The B sample taken is merely to dictate what illegal substance was in his system to then decide what form of punishment will be handed to Ben. If its recreational or performance enhancing drugs then his ban will be much longer then if it was an excess or banned painkillers. Some painkillers are banned in sport on safety grounds due to side effects such as drowsiness which is far from safe & endangering the other 3 riders on the track at the time so it’s reckless to sign into a meeting as safe to ride if you have taken such strong painkillers which won’t go in Ben’s favour.3 points

Kent are entitled to build whatever team they want upto the points limit! The problem is, that you were oblivious to when making slandering comments against the club, was that you are only allowed 2 guests and must use unattached riders thereafter. Dan Thompson & Blair are about as good a top 2 as you could find because remember this is real life and not every single rider that ‘on paper’ looks better will want to or would be able to ride. Then they had to pick 2 unattached 3.00 riders and tbf none are going to score many points, if any points at all. So what difference did it make whether they picked Shimelt, Douglas or someone else? The best you would’ve hoped for is only 1 or 2 points anyway!3 points

Ah yes but to be fair to the ref he is not allowed to look/use the replay and was pretty close on the line. Still feel imo like he is making up for the race when Alfie jumped and was near the back and brought it back and then Alfie won. H8 I think it was, but anyway you didn't win so2 points

I think its because we are major cities, its very rare that we get things like Beach Volleyball, world class swimming, world class athletics, its something new for the locals and it carries a lot of memories to look back on, I think Speedway as long become a sport that you will only attend if you know what its about, Speedway will never be a massive spectator sport in the UK ever again2 points

Seriously? Look at how many Lawson got at Oxford last week. If it was taking place at Poole you may have a point!2 points

Have to agree, there's a massive gap between the NL & Champ. Just look at the scores of Bickley, McGurk & Coles. All 8-9 point riders in NL but are struggling to score anything in the Champ. Pijper being a sub 7.00 rider would be out of his depth as things stand. Champ needs to be weakened imo2 points

No, but maybe you should go back and read your comments on this forum when the meeting was originally staged. You didn’t even mention about the dust until Shovlar did, and even then you commented about how it happens a lot, and was similar as a Leicester meeting you went to. The ‘43 years’ comment just makes you look a bit silly - at least it does to anybody who was actually there. We know the truth. Stop being deliberately negative and trying to put people off.2 points

Absolutely ridiculous, the result should be only a matter of days surely, Ben, if innocent has lost a lot of earnings because of this fiasco, if guilty the. He deserves the outcome but at least let the guy know one way or another2 points

Also on the BSPA website. Take a few spare pens though coz I can't see that staying as it is as per norm CHAMPIONSHIP PAIRS LINE-UPS - Monday, August 8, 2022 (britishspeedway.co.uk)2 points

If they'd put out that team, they would have been fined. Since only 4 of those riders are legal. Connor Coles cannot guest at Belle Vue as he has already had his quota of guest bookings. Josh Embleton is in the Armadale 1-7 with a 3.54 average. So couldn't come in as an unattached 3.00 rider as he is neither unattached, nor 3.00 Not so easy is it? Want to try again and see if you can actually come up with a better team that actually complies with the rules?2 points

Exactly the reason why wearing Diamonds gear sticks in ya crop. It's like he is mocking the fans and has no sympathy for the loyal fans.2 points

You mean replacing spectators with empty space is all part of the plan! Is this the only plan that has existed for more than one year?2 points

Covering their pride and joy state of the art tartan track would cost a lot more than stripping some turf up. Plus it would be an open air temporary track. Way too risky. Surely BV NSS with 15 to 20bk temp capacity sold out is better.2 points

I am actually pretty appalled by the sheer lack of effort made by Peterborough management this season, not one single sh*t seems too be given. Jordan jenkins in the top 5 says it all, that’s nothing against the lad, fantastic effort for Berwick the other day, just says a lot about the management with some of these decisions this season. It’s embarrassing, and a pretty shocking way too treat loyal fans. Not happy at all. Big wolves win 58-321 point

The sign of a really good rider is the fact they can ride any shape of track , tonight shows Basso still has work to do to be classed as such , Only Harris and Andersen finished a race in front of a Wolves rider, Harris scores 17 of the teams total of 28 dear oh dear enoughs enough now god help the promotion next monday the gate will be horrendous and in truth they deserve all they get now .1 point

Chris Harris is an absolute machine this season and the fact that he’s scoring his arse off and we are still getting absolutely battered proves just how pathetic it actually is!!!! Not a track basso is a fan of but you can’t blame him, as for everyone else….1 point

Hmmm not sure how you 'make a statement' with most of your team absent. Even if you win with a load of guests it means little.1 point

Nothing for me tonight. Earlier post is what I would've done though. Good luck with your Double.1 point

Cwg finishing Monday 8th. Road's and parking restrictions should also be over. Also to all the doubters are Brummies the first team to finish their league fixtures and the first to declare their intent to ride next season.?1 point

Who knows seriously though probably going to happen after the Belle Vue away fixture, leaves 3 league fixtures (plus play offs) and maintains a nice clean 3.00 average to start next season on.1 point

hi, You can take your own i do every week, the start straight terrace you would be fine with a stool unless by the wall but I would say the 3rd/4th bend would be much better for a deck chair as the steps are much wider enjoy :)1 point

WINborne Road was rocking to a bigger than average crowd vs Oxford & Lions av had very similar crowds to their Championship meetings. On the whole I believe the Jubilee League as been very well received.1 point

But be very aware................you may have the sun behind you on bends 3 & 4 but the storm billows of dust will be in yer face and everywhere else! I hope Oxford have sorted that out because when I was there with me Pirates (Championship meeting) that was totally unacceptable especially when selling the sport to new people on that evening. I've never been in such awful conditions in 43 years of going to speedway. I referred to the water truck as a dog cocking it's leg to piddle! I'm attending the pairs and as we know the temperature is going to be el scorchio centigrade so they should be prepared to get plenty of water into the track. As they say on Network Rail......See it Say it Sorted!1 point

Seats in the grandstand (inside) are first come first served, no separate booking, you would need to arrive virtually as the gates open I reckon to bag a decent seat. Terrace is much the same, chairs can be used virtually anywhere, probably be stand to watch the racing and sit between heats thou. Normally busier around the 3rd and 4th bends. Hope that helps.1 point

Wonder how the manage to run Speedway when there was 20 teams in the League.Oh wait ,they use riders that only wanted to race here.Restructure needed.1 point

Villa Ladies are NOT playing games at the Alexander Stadium this season, the games are split between Walsall Bescot Stadium and Villa Park, don't know where this Villa ladies stadium thing as come from, not once as any one from Villa or the Alexander stadium said it would happen1 point

Sun will be in your faces around bends 1 & 2 and the home straight, behind you bends 3 & 41 point

There the results out come would have been the same .IMO Think the Final should have been originally contested as a Home leg for each Team, sure in would have attracted bigger crowd than a one off Final at a neutral track.( which funnily enough Bates has an interest).Still that was probably too logical.!1 point

Surely it's the normal seven man team but the number seven, while having no programmed rides, can replace any rider in the 1-6 during the meeting, with the usual guest and RR rules applying. Wasnt this what happened in the National Series, a three team event in 1990? One of Poole, Glasgow and Leicester will be in the play off quarter finals and both Poole and Leicester have KO Cup semifinals so there may be arent that many "spare" weeks to stage the three meetings at the respective tracks.1 point
-
I hope not lol. If guests have been the norm in the qualifying groups I don't see how replacing our no.1 with our no.7 for the final can be right. But it is British speedway after all1 point

Do you know much about Birmingham Council? It took Tony Mole 21 years to persuade them to allow domestic speedway in a stadium lots may call its 'ancestral home'. The Alexander stadium rebuild has cost the earth and the locals have lost a great park too. So I very much doubt they'd allow those dirty smelly noisy bikes anywhere near it....unfortunately. Unless someone can persuade them that lots of of troublef free ££££'s are likely to flow into the hotel and transport systems......hmmm could be something in it, but they'd have to be talking big bucks for the council I'd suspect.1 point
