It's not the riders wage demands that puts the club or any other club at risk, it's the idiots running the club who choose to pay what they can't afford that puts the club at risk. It isn't the riders responsibility to make sure their wages are affordable to a club. If someone is stupid enough to pay stupid money, that's on them. I mean, who the hell would pay £15K for 3 meetings? Depends on what it's worth to them. Promotors need to stop blaming riders wage demands for the insolvency of their businesses. If you can't afford Rider A, don't employ them.

Who are the idiots though, those who see modern day speedway as a bit of a joke and have walked away to spend time and money on other things rather than speedway or people like me and others who continue to spend money and be happy to be watching any old rubbish.

The majority of the people on this forum moaned about how the 2022 season was run, yet the same faces are moaning that the results of the AGM have been delayed. Good grief...if it takes a couple of days longer to get it right for 2023, it's worth it isn't it? I'd much rather they took their time and improved the product. Whether they actually do improve it is another thing, but give them a chance at least. Moan afterwards if necessary! And personally I'm glad they said there's been a delay, that's already an improvement on keeping everyone completely in the dark for two days.

Lets hope they have stopped any team for using a guest for the whole season, after losing their Number one at the start of the season

The shortage of eggs at the pre AGM Wetherspoon Breakfast Bash caused chaos as egg replacement wasn't available. Premiership promoters claimed priority, but were out voted and had to scramble for more bacon. It all made a hash brown of things! The Chairman was blamed for the deal that had given one egg supplier (Hen-ilass) an exclusive supplier agreement.

I think points should only be scored for finishing ahead of an opposition rider. There shouldn't be any reward for finishing 3rd and 4th and would avoid the inflationary problem of bonus points.

People would be expecting news after the AGM, to say nothing would have been worse imo.

Don't think any team who has ambitions of winning the league has a rider who will not improve in it.. hot and cold at home and freezing away and has been for years… for what its worth he seems a good captain but theres better riders likely to improve on similar averages

Essentially it's going to be a handful of riders who have ridden here before and enjoy the challenge of British tracks.

When I checked the BSPL website at around 5pm yesterday to check for any AGM info, the Leicester Lions logo had definitely moved into the Premiership section. The 9 Championship logos were in 3 rows of 3.

Dont think it will be the stadium as he makes good money from the stocks, will get rent from Speedway . Got to say hes done very well if hes sold both promotions with the current cost of living crisis, maybe took a bit less than he wanted but lucky to find two people willing to buy them both

A rider not pushing to the chequered flag when last is fixable in two ways. 1. Riders take a more professional approach to the participation. 2. A rider clearly demonstrating a "can't be arsed" attitude, should have his arse kicked by the team manager on every occasion (regardless of the rider's status or seniority).

However, football, rugby and cricket are quiet sports, much of the noise comes from the crowd, which could happen with 'quiet' speedway. With motorised speedway, you can hardly hear the crowd. In addition, one of the attractions of 'yesteryear' was the whiff of the burning of castor oil in the air. That has virtually disappeared, due to the use of synthetic oils, which the guys use, apparently, to reduce expensive wear to engines.

They have someone lined up ....... there's more that can be done with the venue to bring in extra revenue from even speedway and stock car racing ......

and just where are all these extra NDL standard riders coming from ? With the rumours that Workington and Kings Lynn are entering that’s another 14 to find. Yes, there’s a few coming through from the 250’s but only a couple and no doubt they will simply replace the few that traditionally ‘retire’ over the winter so let’s not get carried away with ‘new’ teams coming along as there simply isn’t enough competent riders to go around.

Maybe we could get back on topic and discuss the Plymouth side for 2023...?
