Speedway hopefully returning to Somerset and 15 minutes or so up the road from the old track. Let’s keep our fingers crossed!

  2. Sorry. Maybe the new owner will build new stadium next to your house if you ask him nicely

  3. Very, very good talent. If he can regain the form he showed when he got injured, his starting average will be significantly improved upon. Delighted this one is now confirmed.

  4. Does anybody really give a ...... Newcastle fans/threads should be welcome anywhere anytime if it helps maintain interest.

  5. Exactly that. Trophies are a bonus when you have great racing. If you don’t have great racing, they’re the only thing… and then, the numbers don’t add up. The best thing about the Facennas isn’t the money thrown at riders, it’s the investment in the track and the product. Plus a great team of track staff - Paul, Chris and the others invest incredible hours putting it together during the season and they almost always get it spot on, which isn’t always easy with our weather.

  6. Don't think so, Complin's away ave was far better than his home ave for Newcastle. Put him on a home track he likes & his average could rise.

  7. But what if it is the team,,,,,, you will be like a beach ball that some has just stuck a fag into.

  8. if Flint and Thomas are RS, so then so should Brennan

  10. One thing guaranteed at Ashfield is entertaining speedway on a great raceway.

  11. It does seem a lot of people are jealous of glasgow tho, int just about a trophy tigers win most weeks with a top race track & product give me that every time over clubs who rak up big home wins with zero racing & entertainment...without racing the sport goes simple

  12. You would get a great number of fans hope up.IMO

  13. A few seniors at Peterborough didn’t pay anything to get in for the last two seasons apparently. Their excuse? They were riding for the Panthers!

  14. You don’t fully grasp the concept that the clubs worked together that both were happy with. And not one or the other being quick enough as you put it to get deals done, both clubs would have to agree the deal. But your version probably suits your comfort blanket better that is Glasgow bad Poole good.

  15. Never heard that one, I’m sure he would settle far better at Poole.

  16. Yes and I am glad it is not us! One is okay.

  17. The selection is based on averages in both leagues and Brennan has exceeded the threshold, plus I don't think he needs the protection of the RS scheme any more anyway.

  20. Funny you should say that, I just looked through the website trying to find an answer. There's no mention of it in ticket section, but the press release/news story states the following... *Advanced tickets are available until midnight the day before the event date. The above admission prices include a ticket booking fee.

  21. Seems you might have. Just waiting for the club to confirm it

  23. Bickley seems to have followed a similar career trajectory as jack Thomas until 2 years ago. Jack signed for us as a teenager and looked a prospect but stagnated as a 2/3 pointer for 3/4 years. Penny seemed to drop at Birmingham in 2021 and looks a totally different rider nowadays (on steal of an average too imo). Hopefully same thing happens with Kyle, might never be world champion but sure can have a decent career at it

  24. Gilkes was the most pivotal plymouth signing by a mile .

  25. If he doesn’t improve significantly this season from a reserve position in a very weak league there’s something wrong.
    2 points
  26. Is it though? Much weaker league were a lot of teams are running either one or two 2.00 riders. I’d fancy him to beat them more often that not home and away. If doing that I’d fancy him to get 4/5 points a meeting which is doing his job at 7. Also now at a track he’s always scored reasonably well at and will help boost his confidence and he won’t be put under any pressure.

  27. Doubt it. In 2009, he was faster than Jason Lyons and obviously going right to the top, but with all of his injuries he would be better off now in the NL.
    2 points
  28. He was cheap then if the rumours are right that Dudek wanted 6k a meeting

  29. 15 minutes based upon fifteen heats (?) but I remember the days of Second Halves when either the "main players" took part with a smattering of assets/juniors (we had the likes of Eastbourne & Peterborough riders take part due to the promotional tie-up at Cowley/White City) and later Junior Matches plus, of course, the occasional Golden/Silver Helmet Match Race(s) thrown in plus Individual/4TT/3TT/Pairs/Test Matches which had a variety of race formulae. Meetings often had up to twenty races at times. It's often argued that many left after the main event and that was their prerogative but many stayed on to catch all the action and therefore got more for their money.

  32. At times over the last two or three seasons Jorgensen has been the only Lynn rider worth watching at home, he is exciting and rides Lynn well, and to be fair his away form improved too in 2022. This time last year I'd have agreed with you but for me he gets in on merit for next season. Cares about the club too which goes a long way.

  33. Correct Correct on both counts From Issue 13 of the 2022 Green Sheets Jenkins was listed at No 7, Mulford at No 8.

  34. Possibly Chris Harris for Poole.

  35. Hell no. Unfair on them. You need one good reserve so they don't have the pressure.

  36. He didn’t due to family commitments, but was seemingly keen to come back this season.

  37. Lee is still on his assessed 4.00 for team building, as his Newcastle scores have been expunged.

  39. So a 4 then lol Maybe healing quicker than first thought or Poole got temp cover if you are allowed to do that.

  41. Well speaking as someone who now follows the Witches/ Tigers as my team are gone (probably forever) be careful what you wish for! two playoff appearances since 2018 isnt a bad return - and they did win a trophy lasty year.

  42. Well if that's the team,,, lessons clearly haven't been learnt. Then again,, having a team to follow if you wish,, is better than not having a team to follow

  44. If Morris can stay injury free he will make a mockery of that average, probably capable of 6.5-7 including crucial points when it matters. Shame it didn't go well at Perry Barr for him last season, he's local & clearly cares for the club Good luck Ash.

  45. Jorgensen has just finished with his highest Prem average yet and was barely at reserve in 2022 (4 matches). To me he seems a good signing for Lynn if he stays.

  46. I hope if changes are needed management act sooner next season.

  47. Kings Lynn are certainly nothing if not patient!

  48. Pretty clear that the idea is to emulate P'boro class of 2021, they tried last year but it didn't work. The plan is to have six riders averaging around seven and a FTR who chips in, if that's the case there won't be too many big hitters above say Klindt and Pickering....you are probably looking at Doyle and Bewley, possibly Fricke, Holder, Kurtz, Harris, Museilak & Masters although they can all be hit and miss. The key is that the top six has to be rock solid and the senior reserve must hit double figures. Don't forget MPT was at 1 for P'boro when they won the title. Our league isn't littered with massive names, there's certainly nothing frightening out there IMO. Having Jakobsen at reserve should be more scary for other sides. One thing which MUST happen is winning at home every week, over the last few seasons we've lost far, far too often on home soil.
