Nobody should ever say with confidence that so and so has signed. Flappy could absolutely end up correct no question, but it’s foolish to be so confident. It’s a fluid situation and as I’ve said many times, things change on an hourly basis. I’ve also been told things by a very reliable source and in good faith, but until they’ve signed on the dotted line and announced officially by clubs then things can always change because there’s so many moving parts to these deals. PhilTheAce no doubt also has good info, but he was sure that Kerr wasn’t returning to Sheffield but instead going to Leicester. But Kerr has indeed ended up back at Sheffield. That doesn’t mean he gets duff info, at the time Kerr more than likely was in at Leicester but again, things twist and turn behind the scenes all the time.6 points

You can view the Council meeting at the following link: Scroll to around 2:29:00 and the discussion on Brandon takes place for around 15 minutes. This Tony Gillias seems a bit of a superstar!5 points

SW guested for B'ham a couple of times a few seasons ago and he was very approachable on each occasion .... from the few short chats I had with him, I found him to be a Top Man.5 points

Look it's a forum, what would the forum be without speculation? Fwiw I think the club should announce something as people are getting tetchy. I've got a thick skin, people in all sports talk, it's impossible to keep radio silence.4 points

Seems like Flappy has got under one or two peoples skin.....believe him or don't believe him, up to you, but don't see the need to have a go at him. Annoyance that he knows stuff others don't would be my guess.4 points

Dear foreverblue, Steve has joined us at the after meeting Press Conference on several occasions over the past two seasons and has proved to be good company freely offering his take on the nights action in an engaging, knowledgeable and witty way.4 points

Pop down to the Dolphin Centre next Tuesday and have a chat with him. I'm sure that will allay your concerns.3 points

Yep I think I'd seen that, what I would say is that there isn't always a direct correlation between what riders like and what entertains the paying customer.3 points

If the above is correct panthers will line up 1.84 under but a strong team that could challenge for honours for me. Personally would rather Batchelor for Andersen. NKi Andersen Tungate Basso Holder Ben Cook Jenkins3 points

I appreciate we are living in a modern world, but it's often been said, so many of the older generation don't have modern mobile phones that can download Apps, I'm one of them. It's not just a case of cost, but the older you get, the harder it becomes to learn and understand many things in life, and modern technology is one.3 points

Rugby Council APPROVES Notice of Motion to explore options available to bring Brandon Stadium back into use, and any likely public advantages to the local and wider communities should this be achievable. We look forward to providing our input into the discussions to follow3 points

We haven’t made an approach to the NDL as things stand. The main reason being that we were in negotiations with the Premiership until today. The NDL is part our our longer term plan if that’s something the NDL want, but we have to be sure that we don’t over-commit at this stage as we have now committed to 54 meetings on 2023. It is important that BSN grows at a rate that doesn’t compromise the product that we offer - we are a very small team and we have to be realistic with our immediate ambitions. Our NDL take up in 2022 was understandably short of the number of subscribers for Premiership and Championship, which is the biggest challenge we have to overcome as financially it has to work. Hopefully that explains our reasons for prioritising Premiership and Championship coverage to date, but please be assured that NDL is absolutely part of our long term plan as we are extremely passionate about the future stars of British Speedway - it’s essential to the future of our sort in the UK. To summarise - if it’s possibly for us, we will do everything we can!3 points

But would make the general standard a lot worse. Rising costs and weaker product, sounds familiar.2 points

I'm claiming nothing other than 5 riders and a new owner. The reality is it doesn't matter what a fan thinks of a rider personally, they're here to do a job and if they do that job fans will cheer them, if they don't they lose their job. I don't buy this not wanting a rider because he's not a nice person2 points

He has only got to get to the first bend in the first meeting, then they could run with guests for the rest of the season. If my memory serves me right, it's happened before.2 points

Strength in depth Dave 1075, but perhaps not the top end strength for away? How about: 1. Alfie Bowtell 10.67 2. Joe Alcock 4.36 3. Jack Kingston 6.45 4. Connor King 4.16 5. Ben Morley 9.29 6. Jacob Clouting 4.07 7. Sonny Springer hopefully, or Chris Watts 3.00 total 42.00! I notice that Jack Kingston had the 9th best away average in the league! He goes well at Iwade, could be a trump card.2 points

I interviewed Stevie many times for GRT Media DVD's, both when he was a Diamond and when he rode for other tracks and he always came across as pleasant and in no way arrogant. Even when off camera he would always speak, unlike some riders.2 points

Fantastic optimism, I love it. Can we throw in Magic as well?? I can see me heading down the A1 most weeks. Keep your optimism going 100% BassoRacingFan, lots to like!1 point

Would be nice if we could get to a point where a minimum British rider quota per team was put in place. Clearly we’re a long way off of that. It would improve the standard or British riders produced and only the best overseas riders would be sought to race here too. Win-win.1 point

You beat me to it! As long as @foreverblue doesn't tell him off for taking Danny King's place1 point

He a horrible git . Remember years ago him going ballistic at Swales about track because he wasn’t scoring many points in 1 meeting if I was manager I would have sacked him on spot. But make no mistake batch is a better rider than Andersen at this moment in time he won more heats round showground than Andersen did last season …and pairing him with holder if he’s coming wouldn’t be a bad thing1 point

Yes, but apparently it definitely isn't Poole, so Plymouth? Maybe Birmingham, not sure how much they have left for last rider.1 point

Further statement out today on Facebook saying the new promotion have taken over the old website so that the history can be continued, as well as then distancing themselves from the old owners. Also, there is an interesting article in the speedway star!1 point

If all that happens then yes it's failed but its not done yet. I agree that maybe more could be done for Mountain & Hume, perhaps with more thought they could somehow have been guaranteed a number 6 spot somewhere but on the other hand they are 25 and 26, perhaps they aren't the type of riders the scheme should be for.1 point

Can you guys stop mentioning Witton FC, had enough last season up to when the station was opening , walking down Wet On Lane every match. ! grrrrrr1 point

I made a decision to buy a programme at the first meeting I attended in 1976, I have purchased a programme at every meeting since. They are stored on boxes and every now and then get a viewing brining back memories that would otherwise disappear. I am definitely in the yes to a programme camp !!1 point
