Lowering the points limit has never worked before don’t understand why they persist with this nonsense. All it means is mediocrity is being rewarded. And to compound matters they increase admission for a weaker product.5 points

Ignore him he's the resident forum clown, everyone else thinks it's a decent deal and the best thing to happen to live speedway for many a yr4 points

If you look at inflation £20 in 2022 is about the same as £10 was in 2000. I always like to pay as little as possible for anything that I can, but realistically it's still a £10 sport from 20 years ago, but inflation has meant it's now £20. I'm not defending promotions and money is tight but unless all speedway becomes NL level or lower it can't go below £20 really.4 points

Unfortunately this news is correct but fortunately he has full feelings in his arms and legs3 points

He should end up with some home track advantage because he will have unrestricted access to Northside for as much practice as he wants which should sort the F situation out and with a mechanic like Steve Lawson supporting the home riders hopefully he can jump on those EF gremlins in the pits and that will be another problem put to bed... Great! Nothing massively exciting about the Poole team in 2023. Will do fine but nothing that makes you think wow! I will never forget 2017 when Kyle decided to ride against us for Swindon in PO semi final. Glasgow are the stand our team, a very exciting team for the fans to watch on the terraces. They will be seeing a lot of over taking and riders on the boards, great entertainment for the supporters.3 points

Ryan Douglas and Zaine Kennedy first and second respectively in today's North Brisbane Solo Masters Final promoted by Darcy Ward Promotions. Nick Morris had a 15 point max in the heats but finished 4th in the final behind Jacob Hook in 3rd.3 points

Paint it how you like but the fact is hitting an air fence offers way more protection than a wooden fence, if you don’t think so then physics isn’t your strong point.2 points

Looks like all behind the rebirth of the comets mean business 1st what looks to be a great track now looking like a great team to go with it UTC2 points

That's correct. If my memory serves me right he rode the next day as a guest and i think he top scored. Rule No.1. Don't try and pull the wool over Busters eyes.2 points

If Newman is at reserve he will do very well against many of the other reserves so far signed. The chances are he would move up and swap with Jack Thomas who could be one of our second strings. He won’t swap with Zach Cook who has shown his ability and is likely to improve considerably further in 2023.2 points

Sickens me that waste of space right turner is gp director. One of the filthiest moves I've ever witnessed. Was a miracle he got out the stadium that day2 points

I am pretty sure his gating improved towards the end of the season as he had Tony Starke helping him in the pits with his clutch and bike set up with lee coming back after having time out and with extra weight he was carrying he had to change the type of clutch plates and tyre pressures he used ,he has also lost a great deal of weight and hopes to lose more over the winter and think people will see a slimmer Lee Complin come the start of the season think the racing at glasgow will be pretty exciting with the team or racers Glasgow will have2 points

Brilliant, thanks for that and all the best next year. Just to get a reply from speedway people shows the difference with BSN. Thoroughly enjoyed last season and will be signing up to both the championship and premiership2 points

I'm sure we could afford one,,, but just won't get one,, it's just not worth the outlay2 points

Lawson has been a fantastic rider in the championship for many years now. Don't get all this talk about number ones, an out and out number one is a rider who leads from the front and wins the big heats and Lawson is one of those.2 points

good to see Macon included again, really like it there1 point

Turn 1 & 2 is plastic bottles in big bags & turn 3& 4 is plywood fence with posts behind it every couple of metres.. I’m led to believe they will have an air fence in place for the Aussie round & the DW invitational in which woofy is riding. The timber fence does go around the whole long track, but not T 1 & 2 for speedway.1 point

On sentiment and if it was purely based on leveling up this season I would agree it would have been worth the risk as against some of them 2 pointers he would pick up some points. But with that new limit and lacking that proven 3rd H/L I think its a wise move to seek more guarantees of points in these reserve berths. Even more important under this new points system where only 2 for a meeting win irrespective of score so that extra bonus point over a 2 leg aggregate becomes so important. I feel the stronger reserves pushes us into a better position to secure that. I could be wrong of course and only my opinion.1 point

That price would certainly put me off attending. The diehards will go no matter what, others will pick & choose their matches depending on the opposition. Fans who don't feel £20 is value for money may go even less. I don't know the right answer as halfing the cost doesn't guarantee double the crowd! But I do feel £20 is too much for second tier speedway!1 point

It's looking like a 3pm start for the Speedway, so unfortunately other local amatuer sport like RL and Cricket will clash.1 point

First off, i hope Rew has a speedy recovery But that track cannot be fit for purpose.I know you've gotta have a screw loose to do the sport, but surely any rider with a slight bit of common sense should have took one look at the standard and put their bikes back in the van? It just screams an accident waiting to happen, I know riders want to keep sharp over the winter but racing on that is beyond stupid.1 point

Very bad news from Australia with Keynan Rew badly hurt. Initial reports say a broken spine in two places. Fingers crossed it's not as bad as it sounds and he can make a full recovery.1 point

I think its as simple as that, he did quite well at Lynn in 2019 but was quickly released in early 2021 after a poor start and wasn't great at Ipswich and then even worse last season at Sheffield. It's a pity but Prem clubs just don't seem to trust him or the baggage he seems to come with. I expect he will get a gig later on the season when injuries and sackings start to kick in.1 point

If it hasn't happened cant see panthers having Holder if buster is then still the owner1 point

That's true... but.... with teams folding etc., many have to travel to see speedway. Giving Diamondboy and myself as examples... to get to say Redcar (our nearest track) it's (let's assume) £20 to get in + £3 Programme + approx £10 fuel to get there and back (cheaper if shared obviously, but still "extra" cost). It's not "cheap" anymore, especially in the current financial climate and the extra admission prices just puts more people off attending. To answer your question regards admission prices at Newcastle in 2022 it was £18 for adults (and I'd guess it would be £20 in 2023 IF we had run).1 point

I won't be missing any Lynn meetings this coming season hopefully.Just applied for a season ticket.First time in over 30 years.A saving of 20% for me as I do get a programme at the meetings. That could be a free pint for me at every meeting sort of1 point

It does make me laugh that so many say Ipswich can't afford to sign a 2nd big name to back up Doyle yet you see the same predicting Peterborough will name a big no1 backed up by NKI Holder and Basso....1 point

I mean if they can get some of the muscle off him get speedway rider physique again I suppose he'll maybe do ok. As I've said before not the ideal reserve partner for young Ace either. Going to very reliant on top 51 point

So he can get a Premiership place but not a Championship place?! He clearly needs a middle tier spot, rather than NL, for his overall development but that’s British Speedway all over!1 point
-
Arguably scaling back is precisely what the sport needs to then grow once more. The top tier clings on to delusions that all the GP riders will come back one day while every man and his dog is allowed to double up so they don’t have to stretch themselves trying to get a ride abroad because they can meander around the UK leagues, pay the mortgage off and not have to get a proper job.1 point

Great stuff being about to see my club rise again, really excited to watch racing around our new track looks unbelievable. Plenty of good stuff on social media for the Comets too, Good to see comments from each rider after signing !️1 point

Tomorrow morning (10 December), starting at 10 a.m., BBC Essex will be broadcasting a programme about lost Essex sports stadiums. As part of this, at about 10:30, I am being interviewed about the lost speedway tracks of Essex. It is a phone-in programme, so it would be good if any of you could phone in with memories of speedway in Essex.1 point
