  1. Solid fences and sandbags should have no place in speedway in 2022...

  2. Lowering the points limit has never worked before don’t understand why they persist with this nonsense. All it means is mediocrity is being rewarded. And to compound matters they increase admission for a weaker product.

  3. Ignore him he's the resident forum clown, everyone else thinks it's a decent deal and the best thing to happen to live speedway for many a yr

  4. If you look at inflation £20 in 2022 is about the same as £10 was in 2000. I always like to pay as little as possible for anything that I can, but realistically it's still a £10 sport from 20 years ago, but inflation has meant it's now £20. I'm not defending promotions and money is tight but unless all speedway becomes NL level or lower it can't go below £20 really.

  6. Unfortunately this news is correct but fortunately he has full feelings in his arms and legs

  7. He should end up with some home track advantage because he will have unrestricted access to Northside for as much practice as he wants which should sort the F situation out and with a mechanic like Steve Lawson supporting the home riders hopefully he can jump on those EF gremlins in the pits and that will be another problem put to bed... 8. Great! Nothing massively exciting about the Poole team in 2023. Will do fine but nothing that makes you think wow! I will never forget 2017 when Kyle decided to ride against us for Swindon in PO semi final. Glasgow are the stand our team, a very exciting team for the fans to watch on the terraces. They will be seeing a lot of over taking and riders on the boards, great entertainment for the supporters.

  9. Ryan Douglas and Zaine Kennedy first and second respectively in today's North Brisbane Solo Masters Final promoted by Darcy Ward Promotions. Nick Morris had a 15 point max in the heats but finished 4th in the final behind Jacob Hook in 3rd.

  10. 20 quid will have the "£10 Sport" crowd up in arms.

  11. Well they would do lol. Lawson is more than a gating tart, that some seem to think.

  12. Only Morris can answer that one.

  13. Paint it how you like but the fact is hitting an air fence offers way more protection than a wooden fence, if you don’t think so then physics isn’t your strong point.

  14. Looks like all behind the rebirth of the comets mean business 1st what looks to be a great track now looking like a great team to go with it UTC

  15. That's correct. If my memory serves me right he rode the next day as a guest and i think he top scored. Rule No.1. Don't try and pull the wool over Busters eyes.

  16. If Newman is at reserve he will do very well against many of the other reserves so far signed. The chances are he would move up and swap with Jack Thomas who could be one of our second strings. He won’t swap with Zach Cook who has shown his ability and is likely to improve considerably further in 2023.

  17. Sickens me that waste of space right turner is gp director. One of the filthiest moves I've ever witnessed. Was a miracle he got out the stadium that day

  18. I am pretty sure his gating improved towards the end of the season as he had Tony Starke helping him in the pits with his clutch and bike set up with lee coming back after having time out and with extra weight he was carrying he had to change the type of clutch plates and tyre pressures he used ,he has also lost a great deal of weight and hopes to lose more over the winter and think people will see a slimmer Lee Complin come the start of the season think the racing at glasgow will be pretty exciting with the team or racers Glasgow will have

  19. Brilliant, thanks for that and all the best next year. Just to get a reply from speedway people shows the difference with BSN. Thoroughly enjoyed last season and will be signing up to both the championship and premiership

  20. It looked like a statement of fact to me.

  22. £60-£80 on Beer! I suppose it's the best way to watch Speedway at Lynn

  23. I'm sure we could afford one,,, but just won't get one,, it's just not worth the outlay

  24. Lawson has been a fantastic rider in the championship for many years now. Don't get all this talk about number ones, an out and out number one is a rider who leads from the front and wins the big heats and Lawson is one of those.

  25. Turn 1 & 2 is plastic bottles in big bags & turn 3& 4 is plywood fence with posts behind it every couple of metres.. I’m led to believe they will have an air fence in place for the Aussie round & the DW invitational in which woofy is riding. The timber fence does go around the whole long track, but not T 1 & 2 for speedway.

  26. And you get emails from the BSN team, advertising their product, and making sure I dont forget they exist... Almost like they understand the way that to be successful today your online presence and targeted marketing is key... Who'd have thought that? Will be signing up as an extra Xmas present to my wife... I am sure she will be delighted...

  29. Especially as Matt/Danny Ford tend to spread the news and use the Evening Echo space wisely to get the maximum in media coverage outside of Bournemouth Football or other spots grabbing headlines. Also gets the news out there more often to both fans and potential sponsors.

  30. Didn’t look dirty he turned to see we’re Davy was and fenced him ending his career. How that coward sneaked out the stadium that day tells you everything you need to know.

  31. That price would certainly put me off attending. The diehards will go no matter what, others will pick & choose their matches depending on the opposition. Fans who don't feel £20 is value for money may go even less. I don't know the right answer as halfing the cost doesn't guarantee double the crowd! But I do feel £20 is too much for second tier speedway!

  32. Does that look safe to you...

  33. Don't see how Zach can start at reserve . As quite a few teams seem to be starting with a 2 pointer, Roynon should have a good season as he is better than most of the reserves .

  36. Very bad news from Australia with Keynan Rew badly hurt. Initial reports say a broken spine in two places. Fingers crossed it's not as bad as it sounds and he can make a full recovery.

  37. Either Pijper, Bickley or Mitch Graham cracking rider in his day

  38. Cook is probably the poster boy for a generation of British and Australian riders who have been hampered by the relaxing of the doubling up rules roughly a decade ago. Those riders in the past would have had to make a real fist of it trying to become serious top level riders in Poland and on the world scene or accept that a career as a top tier mid-order/second tier heatleader was for them. As it is they can just do the rounds with two teams in Britain which is no good for anyone. That’s on the rule makers not the riders by the way. Cook always seemed to be unsure whether to take the plunge or not. If he had he may have achieved even more than he has. Hopefully he enjoys his speedway going forward and leads a happy life because he’s a class act. Mental health is a harrowing thing and too often goes unchecked or downplayed.

  42. Mate, your the worst kind of sports fan. A jumped up ego maniac with their nose up the arse of whoever you think is important. Couldn't give a monkeys how I look it's a forum, you know where you put opinions out. I never said complin wouldn't come just didn't want him. Same with Harris. Stand by it neither signing make sense. Now run along like the sycophant you are to get your next bit of "Insider knowledge". Absolute bore

  43. Not a convincing signing, but no doubt be on some good equipment this year.Jury is out on this team for me,but it will be an exciting watch. Definitely need Vissing on his 5 average and to score big.

    1 point
  45. You can’t see anything out of those glasses and why ? He isn’t going to have any home track advantage !. Although he really should be adding to it this season, plenty of talent but too many ‘F’ and ‘EF’s’, hope he makes it to that ‘next step’ this year.
    1 point
  46. So he can get a Premiership place but not a Championship place?! He clearly needs a middle tier spot, rather than NL, for his overall development but that’s British Speedway all over!
    1 point
  47. Ridiculous if he hasn't a cl spot just shows how bad the league is with the 2 pointers goin to be out classed and a young very good up and coming rider on the side lines
    1 point
  48. Thought this wasn't possible before as the TV deal didn''t allow it? Wonder if Eurosport decided to show less meetings so agreed to this?

  49. I think Trigger is promising, but expect him to be out of his depth & looks the weakest 2.00 rider signed so far. However he may at least have the beating of other 2.00 riders at home

  50. Tomorrow morning (10 December), starting at 10 a.m., BBC Essex will be broadcasting a programme about lost Essex sports stadiums. As part of this, at about 10:30, I am being interviewed about the lost speedway tracks of Essex. It is a phone-in programme, so it would be good if any of you could phone in with memories of speedway in Essex.
