Irrespective of the future the Cooks are well ahead of him in GB and that’s what matters for next season.7 points

Its been a farce for years really that Brits especially those on a 3.5-5 point CL average struggle to get places whilst there is always a string of Aussies signed up (with all the additional costs associated) if only a little of that funding was sprinkled around the Brits perhaps there would be a bit more progression.4 points

So we’ll get to see him racing his own teammates again then…. think I’d rather stick with NKI….4 points

To me it’s about the experience when attending, good viewing , good racing, friendly people at the gates , clean toilets, good food and drink outlets and a warm welcome from the Glasgow fans.4 points

Isn't that wrestling stuff though pretty much the same as the 70's style speedway punch ups and people spouting over the mic.I don't watch the wrestling because the snippets I have seen is all pantomime stuff,a little like 70's speedway .Give me big daddy and cat weasel any time3 points

Get the No.6 right and then Plymouth will be challenging for silverware next season. 1-5 is as good as any other team in this league.2 points

But does every rider who ever put their leg over a bike need to make to to the CL and above... A Development league needs riders to pad it out, like the Ben Morley's of the future. Not everyone is going to make it, but why should they not be allowed to ride and enjoy the sport just because they haven't made it...? That's why some riders chuck the towel in, they lose enjoyment out of it because there's always this drama of who's going to be the next big thing and who isn't. I'm speaking first hand from experience here, me and many others before me have given up because we were classed as 'not good enough anymore' because we weren't the next Tai Woffinden, it's ridiculous. Plus... How do you know who is and who isn't going to make it until you've given them a chance, and I don't mean one or two seasons in the NL then throw them in the bin, I mean a proper stint with a bit of stability. Who knew that Jason Doyle was going to be world champion until his late 20s... If he was British he'd have been thrown in the bin years before that happened and no one would be the wiser.2 points

What ‘additional costs’ ? If the club has a permit in existence then there aren’t any. They get the same points money / basic wage guarantee, most are put up as guests by club hosts at no cost to the club so no different to equivalent brits. If anything they are willing to put up with more hardships to try and make it than a lot of Brit youngsters who some times demand way more than they are currently worth but I do agree, the rules with averages dont help the middle order riders, perhaps grading is the fairer way ?2 points

Then you need to open your eyes. The British youth rounds are the lowest in numbers there have been for years as very few are taking up the sport. Yes, there’s few good ones coming through , mostly now moving into 250’s , but not many, and where are there replacements? You need to look at the ages of those that are around , not many of team racing age. One club who enquired about running in NDL was informed they probably wouldn’t be considered as there wasn’t enough riders of the right quality to fill another team. Yes, the rules are an issue but more so the lack of proper schools where kids can get on a bike and try the sport.2 points

I’m so excited, can’t wait for the lower league champions to announce a rider, I might post about it for the next 90 pages.2 points

Pearson is 17, Ben Cook is 25, Zach is 23. If he is to be better than either Cook by the time he is 18 he hasn't got long to prove it. He seems to be doing well in the Australian Championships but how he will progress who knows . Quite happy for the Cooks to be at Poole for however long they want to be.2 points

As much as i like Max im not really sure how a rider who would have clocked 12.00 bar following home a team mate once is going to land a team place, its just too big a chunk of points used. Personally i think it would be nice to restrict the use of riders on high averages (to force rider progression up through and out the NDL) no 9+ riders for example but average manipulation would likely go crazy. My bigger hope is that Max lands a CL place as him missing out there after a strong finish with Leicester would be especially harsh.2 points

I'm all for passion, there's not enough of it in British speedway but seventies style punch-ups and referee's box storming isn't my cup of tea and wouldn't work nowadays IMO, it was 'of its time'. I do agree with Haza though, I think American wrestling is the biggest load of tripe out there but its a show that people flock to and it fills huge arenas and stadiums. We need some of that somehow.2 points

Not too much this year, previously free entry tickets, billboard advertising etc. TV advert campaign this year although the timing was all wrong, towards the end of July and saying Friday nights. There were only two Friday meetings in the next two months.2 points

Kingsley or Andersen would be my choices out of rhose, both got a bit of aggression in them. Danes and Brummies on a Wednesday though not a good fit. Kingsley for me. (from that list)2 points

Silly time to tell someone! Should wait til after the final.2 points

Wasn’t exactly whenever he could, he guested twice for Plymouth, once in the Jubilee league when the Ben Barker thing happened, and the other time he was supposed to be commentating on BSN but Hans Andersen called in sick and so he borrowed some Kevlars lol. He also rode in the pairs at late notice. He’s had offers from half of the league I think, I’m 99.9% sure it won’t be Plymouth.2 points

Or.... You could have Nathan Ablitt at reserve. I mean he beat Morley there, so can ride it and then have Batch as the last rider in top 5!! Would come to 39.97 if other averages in confirmed signings thread are correct!2 points

Going head to head with Edinburgh on a Friday evening was a bad move IMO. Sunday afternoon is more family friendly and you would get the odd punter coming along the M8 for their fix.2 points

Do they not know that a purpose built site should be built in Swindon directly on the site where Swindon Robins used to race by the very people looking for another site?.... Maybe someone should mention it to them...?1 point

Doyle’s a better rider…. pedersen won’t average 8 he the past.. my all time fav rider .1 thing for sure I wouldn’t want to be a team mate of his1 point

I like Nick too... But Josh is the next step up on the ladder imo... Not quite superstar in this country, but one step below... Where I see Nick as a solid 3rd heatleader in the PL, Josh could go on to be a very good number 5/possible number 11 point

Nicki Pedersen like him or not is possibly the last rider of a generation with a certain something that got a reaction from the fans he’s marmite definitely but he is box office1 point

Possibly to do with his Newcastle points being scrapped? Complin is still a 4 which is what he came in on at start of season.1 point

TV advertising is a bit of a waste of money imo, they would be better doing more targeted social media slots, eg advertising on football forums during the summer when football closes down would be an avenue they could explore. Wouldn't cost much either, sometimes just 'word of mouth' online can do the trick.1 point

I was told Eastbourne crowd was down by more than 100 when they ran against GP on the tele. Also meant teams visited without top rider. All academic now as all the signs are pointing towards no more speedway at Arlington.1 point

What constitutes a “proper” fan is always an interesting/sensitive subject and ultimately one without a right answer. Even the negative comments come from a place of wanting the best for the sport I find and frustration at how it is being run. Ultimately nobody would be here if they didn’t care on some level.1 point

We're putting a roof over the stadium. Seriously what do you suggest when the natural water table is about 1ft below the track surface, hence the name of the area is marsh mills, their is a clue in the name.1 point
